I just checked on line again and was trilled to see the response. I'm new to car cruise thing but would love to meet up with anyone skylines or what. I'm not really worried about the age thing but it would be good to have some older than 20. if you know what i mean. if you want to organise a weekend drive somewhere that would be great. is it too cold for a BBQ? Any suggestions would be good. we can start and work something out....

I don't think you'll find age is too much of an issue on most of the things SAU does, as there are a few different age groups out there. We try and stay clear of the "fulsik" brigade..

Good to hear that we can have good days without the "fulsik". What ever that is but I have an idea. But I'm looking forward to meeting new people and having some great weekends out cruising..we will try and work out a day and everyone can come. please help out..

Jas, I'm the events co-ordinator for the qld skyline club and we've got a pretty full events calendar over the next few months so feel free to organise a cruise on behalf of the forum members. But just be made aware, that people are a bit hesitant to attend a cruise organised by someone they don't know. So get out there and attend events and become known amongst the chumps.

As people have stated above, build it and they will come. No point having heaps of people sitting here saying they want crusies/meets if no ones willing to put their hand up and take charge

Bribie sound nice, and I dont think we've been out there for a cruise, lots of nice big parks over there, depending on where you want to go.

And it is dead simple to organise a cruise:

1. State meet point and time. Meet point should be easily found by people who are not locals to it, ie Yatala BP, Morayfield BP, etc etc.

2. Figure out a route, and keep it simple.

3. Have a CB or handheld radio on the day to be able to hear what is going on behind/infront of you.

4. State length and what people will need to bring with them, ie food/chairs/warm clothes/etc.

And then turn up! easy!

Ska, Thanks for that advice. I will sort out some dates and start getting things organised. Looks like we have to get a hand held radio. Seems like it would be the easiest way to keep track if there is a few of us.

Tell me! How old are you really???? lol

I hope that you can make the cruise when it happens.

    • Hi GTSBoy, Excuse my ignorance but what does a "Bad" Knee point mean ?
    • HFM BM57 has a "bad" knee point, IIRC. It's not the same thing as the later R chassis MC.
    • The ATTESSA is functionally identical to R34; there were a bunch of JDM models that continued ATTESSA including Fuga/Q70, Skyline/Q50, Cima etc as an option. All with Auto only and I think mostly for snow regions. AFAIK there were no AWD VR30DDTT sold in Australia - it is on my to do list to check regs for racing a LHD car in Targa/ATR/AASA/CAMS events because if I can get the auto to work it would be interesting to run a 4wd car The Ecuteck TCM tuning is the same model as their ECU tuning, they already have it for R35 and Dose's favourite, BMW. You buy "points" to allow your computer to be tuned, buy either a bluetooth (phone app) or bluetooth+USB+Key (phone and PC) dongle, and pay for a tune that will be locked to your tuner ( ). You can also access the tuning software yourself but 1. it is mega expensive and 2. these computers have a billion parameters that intersect, so how could you ever spend enough time on it to get a decent result.
    • Or, is it a case of what it is like owning an R series Skyline? NFI what the previous owner has done or fiddled with... Ha ha ha After reading through this thread, I went on a bit of a research about the Q50/Q60. Now I'm quite intrigued by them! Is the AWD in them more like a WRX where it's always AWD, or is it more like the ATTESSA in the GTRs? By the sound of this TCU tuning, this sounds like a case of someone has made some real software for it, and you just need the right piece of hardware, and then you license that specific vehicle/TCU. Or is this a case of the software will be really expensive so only a few tuners have it, and you still have to pay a license per vehicle?
    • By popular demand.. it was a coil. Got my hands on 1 new OEM coil, replaced with the one that made the less noise difference when I unplugged it while the car was running and started the car up. No stutter and the engine light was gone. I guess I’ll buy the other 5 they have lol
