Hey everyone,

Just recently had the fuel pump fixed in my R30. Thought all the problems would be over. When the pump was not connected to the fuel line, it pumped out petrol. When it is attached to the fuel line it still pumps, but nothing seems to get to the engine. You can see the petrol in the fuel line, just before the fuel filter. I took the filter out, and you can blow through it. What would this be? I don't know much, but it kinda sounds like the pressure isnt big enough or something. If anyone knows or has had this problem, I would be happy to hear about it.

Thanks

Adam

It sounds like the metal line that runs under the car may be pinched / blocked.

Have a careful look at the condition of the line, from fuel pump to fuel filter. There may be some metal shields in the way - remove them. Spend the 5 minutes to do this properly. What you would be looking for is any sign that the metal line has been crimped (from a rock, jack or the like).

All looks good? Disconnect the hose from the fuel pump and disconnect the fuel filter and blow through the pipe from the engine bay end. First, fuel should run out of the line of its own accord. Blow through the line from the engine bay end, just to be sure. There shouldn't be resistance. If it feels like you are blowing up a balloon, you have your answer. Oh, and it would probably be the reason that you old pump karked it too...

Have you tried with the fuel hose disconnected from the fuel rail?

I recently replaced mine, and it took quite a while to get fuel at the fuel rail. I disconnected the hose from the rail, and had to do several "primes" of the fuel system (just switch ignition to ON, you get that initial 5 sec running of the pump, then OFF / ACC, then back ON).

Hey Guys,

Found out the problem. Had a mate comeover, after scratching our heads for a while :bonk: , we decided to place the pump right near the motor. Anyway it turned out to work. The fuel pump is working, but does not have enough pressure to reach the engine. So have to buy a new fuel pump......

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
