RB30-POWER
I would say it would depend on the quality of the wrap itself. There is alot of cheap and nasty heat wrap on the market at the moment, that I would be lucky to put near NA extractors, let alone a turbo dump pipe. Buy some good quality wrap, which will cost a abit, and it may even have a heat rating on the packaging or manufacturer specs may provide the ratings. wishaw
some people say you might have a problem with condensation. So if you are worried about that get paint it with exhaust paint. Steve
Apparently, because the heat cannot dissapate as quickly, the properties of the steel may change. I didnt have any problems with my dump being wrapped (mild steel), after 12 months it was still perfect condition, visually. I didnt really have a choice, as the underbonnet temps were pretty crazy Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/79063-can-you-heat-wrap-mild-steel-dump-pipe/#findComment-1442825 Share on other sites
