KILLER-T needs help

Recommended Posts

Adam,

The malpassi is pretty easy to setup. Have you got a fuel pressure guage yet to go with it? You should get one if you haven't. You can then set a base fuel pressure and hook it all up yourself, drive to the tuner and spend very little time mucking about (less $$$).

Whatisname, has the malpassi and similar power. He would have a base pressure close to what you would need.

The AFM plug is different on the Z32. Hope you got the Z32 plug with the afm you could use it by slicing into the original afm wires.

KillerT,

I have a malpassi regulator on mine, I'd be more than happy to come over so you can copy what they did with mine, although I do have a diiferent manifold, but that shouldn't make a difference.

As far as the Z32 goes, if you have a plug that fits into the Z32 then I'm sure I can figure out what the correct pinout's are to join it to your existing loom.

PM me if you need my help.

Ok i got the Z32 afm in it was easy after looking at a few wiring diag's if anyone wants to know what each wire is on their afm is

black / white = 12v

white / blue = ecu earth

black = earth

orange / blue = signal wire

This is for s1 r33 gts25t's only s2 are not the same

and GTSVspec i might take u up on that offer so i can see how your fuel reg is set up

:)

Err forgive me if I missed something KillerT but are you changing the computer to suit the different voltage scale deflection you will get ?

I always thought that this mod only worked with aftermarket computer and only reqd for big HP engines

Ken

you are forgiven Ken the mod list on my car is getting longer than my arm it seems to be one thing after another sofar the car has

Power fc

AVCR

Big cooler

stainless dump

hi flow cat

twin system from cat back

bigger turbo

rebuilt engine wiseco forged pistons

bosch fuel pump

Z32afm

malpassi fuel reg

I needed the z32amf because the stock item was maxed out @1bar and this is fixed now it took it for a quick squirt down roe hwy 1.2bar and the afm was only at 4v :)

Steve,

As Killer-T discovered the wiring is not very difficult, it has an additional ground for the signal, to prevent noise on the signal and floating voltages. It should only take about 30mins to do it yourself, just make sure you have a soldering iron.

Killer-T,

If you already have the regulator then you may aswell do all the lines aswell, it not difficult and you can work out where they go straight from mine.

Yes dude i have a soldering iron but looking for the damm thing today took me about 1 hour to find it man i got to clean my shed out plus the time it took me to work out the wires so it took me the good part of the day to do this job. But if you knew what you were doing and didnt have to spend a hour looking for your soldering iron you could do it in 15 min

This is what I got from Lumpy,

"For the Z afm, the following pins are what we need.

Pin 2 - Power

Pin 3 - Ground

Pin 5 - Signal

The connector is actually a 6 pin plug.

Looking from the wire side, with 2 locating tabs at the top, and 3 at the bottom, pin 6 is on the left, pin 1 at the right."

Is that in line with what you used Killer-T?

Also, out of interest, is putting in forgies very expensive, or did you do it yourself?

Cheers

Steve

No i had 4 wires on my factory plug and a 5th space on the plug that was not used looking at the wire side of the factory plug

pin one black with white stripe = power

pin two white with blue stripe =ground

pin tree black = ground

pin four orange with blue stripe = signal wire

and the pistons cost around 1500 and there is no way i am clued up enough to pull my engine down i got Criss Mills to do the rebuild it was around 5500 all up inc machining and a mild port and polish

Last dyno run we could not tune the cars top end properly because of the stock afm running out after 1 bar and i had the rev limiter set at 6500rpm because it didnt want to hurt my new engine and yes i know im a soft **** for setting the limit to 6500 but it still managed to pull 305 rwhp on psi's dyno .I have no idea what it will pull now that i have this new afm and fuel reg and a new rev limit of 7000 rpm i will gt it tuned to run 1.2bar that should give the engine a bit more punch :burnout: :burnout:

I wired a Z32 afm in my 32 and basically just left the first wire A (orange ) on the z32 and then wired the other 4 in order, eg pin b on z32 to pin a on the stock plug. Everything runs fine so it must be ok.

32s and 33 are the same i think.

    • Checked with amayama and nope, the full S2 manual set is not available anymore. Unsurprising, but still disappointing as the ? on availability gave a glimmer of hope.
    • I've heard the Tomei USA head gaskets are decent if you want to o-ring the heads but otherwise not recommended.
    • The 296mm rotors are the R33 turbo brakes. The 310mm rotors are the R34 turbo brakes. The calipers are nearly the same, but not. They're the same caliper but the R34 caliper has longer legs so that it sits out far enough to go over the rotor. The pads are the same for both. When you say, "I bough tsome EBC"....did you just mean pads? Or rotors? 310mm rotors fit under 17" wheels. There may be some wheels without enough clearance though. I can't fit my fingers between the barrel of my wheel and the "corners" of my R34 calipers, but there is plenty of room behind the spokes. This is on Enkei RPF1. You can fit 324mm rotors inside a 17" wheel, but I'd be willing to bet that it would be close to impossible with the Nissan/Sumitomo caliper (using an adapter, of course), because the Sumitomo caliper is fatter than the Brembo caliper that is supposed to go on the 324mm rotors.
    • Hi. Can someone tell me what brakes(and mainly WHERE) can i buy brakes on R34 GTT? I bought some EBC which SHOULD go on my car(i have GT but it has GTT brakes) but it does not fit, Brakes are "too" small(296mm) Are 310mm be good or? I have 17 inch wheel so no "big boys" but for me driving i just need one that fits and i can get here in EU/Czech.
    • Since winter isn't that harsh anymore in Poland, i will definetely drive it 365 days a year 😉. But if the snow hits i will try it for sure and let U know. Only swap i am planning to do is of course R34 GTR front 😍.
