For someone like me who has worked in the department and issues with these letters when at my old job... To tell you the thruth, they send a letter back saying that the corresspondence has been sent to the officer in charge of what ever station it was near and then it basically just gets thrown in the bin!!

Its basically like when we get junk mail.. you sometimes read it just to see what its about. If its interesting you read on.. If its not you chuck it in the bin..

So i take it then that you guys got my letter ??? The damn bitch is still up there :)

Seriously though I know what you mean, I actually frame some of the legendary customer letters/faxes that we get here ... it's amasing how far the human race has degenerated over time.

WHAT DO WE WANT ?: SOMETHING

WHEN DO WE WANT IT?: PRETTY SOON

HOW WE GONNA GET IT: WRITING LONG BORING LETTERS

Seems that we all have a problem here but no real goal.

For one thing u cant blame cops for doing their job i have not been pulled over in 2 years and i think the reason is "NO RICE" if u put rice on the car i think cops believe that u have money to blow and hence it should be used on fines.

Stock looking cars just dont get pulled over and the second u put even new rims on it will draw unwanted attention.

Alot of people treat cops like the enemy too and this ticks em off. I know if some guy was swerving all over the road in my car i would like him to be pulled over cause he wouldnt be driving it with my permission thats for sure.

And no offense Stric9ine but if u cant drive in a straight line u dont deserve a lic at all.:)

Ahhhh Boostzor........

You really need to sort out your attitude buddy.

Strich9ine had dropped his phone & was picking it up on an unpopulated road late at night.......I'm sure he would have left it on the floor if he thought there was any danger of crashing into another car.

I remember when I had an accident with a taxi & you said that I shouldn't have a sports car because I don't know how to drive it......As you weren't there, you cannot comment on what happened so how about you say something constructive for once rather than just criticize the whole time.

Also, you should realise that when you are cut off by some dodgy taxi driver who hasn't slept for 3 days and you run up the back of him you will be getting no sympathy from me & alot of others here who don't like the way you think you are better than everyone else.

Still battling away. But I've found a witness, so things are looking pretty good.......

Thanks for listening. I can understand your frustration with all the Ricers out there, we all hate them too, but you will find that 99% of all people here are actually very careful drivers who would give sports car enthusiasts a good name if only someone would listen to us.

Actually the road was populated.. and only 7pm, hence the oncoming Police car.

My point was, it wasn't a VIOLENT swerve, more of a drift to the left then a quick correction, we've all done it.

It wasn't necessary to hand out a $100/3point fine and be an ASS about it all. The cop had an attitude problem. I was very calm and apologetic through the whole ordeal, yet they continued harassment with the number plate protector thing.

that, and I'm sick of punk cops handing out insults, outrageous fines for not even real offences, and not being polite. Not necessary. If i'm an ass to customers I'd get a complaint filed against me and probably get my ass kicked.:burnout:

Hehehehe, on the topic of your accident cereal. I don't know about other places but in Syd I've only started noticing how many cabbies when either setting down passengers or waiting to pick up, just stop and put their hazards on, like it's an ok thing to just cut off an entire freaking lane, as long as their hazards on on it's ok ?

Is this legal ? I'm sure to hell that hazards are there for a reason and arn't merely to be used when cabbies who are f**kwits want to stop in moving traffic ?

A good example I saw today whilst walking to work, in a street with two unmarked lanes of sorts, parked traffic on either side, and the cabbie obviously had a pickup at a building, so he just stopped in the lane and put his hazards on. He was there for 7 mins until his passenger came. During this time traffic had to negotiate to stay flowing because of the fact this moron had effectively bottlednecked the road.

That's what the bastard did to me, except he nailed it at the lights to get in front of me & then cut me off & stopped right in front of me RIGHT UNDER A BLOODY BIG "NO STOPPING" SIGN!!!!!:);) ;)

All I can say is that it's lucky I was only going about 40 at the time because if my car was any mor damaged I probably would have killed the little prick on the spot.

I've asked a few cops about the laws with taxi's stopping to pick people up & no one seemed to know........

  • 2 weeks later...

Personnally never had a problem, only compliments on the car from a female officer who pulled me over to pretty much tell me!!!

Remember its the behaviour that really attracts the attention and gives us a bad name.

When my girlfriend is in the car no cops look, but when its 5 guys in the car cops slow down and take a good look.

    • Nah. Was just wondering if you were having a small stroke or if there was some slur/gaf/inside joke that I wasn't aware of.
    • That was a fark up, it's Salamanca Place I was thinking of. And now I'm curious as to what potential slur/gaf I have caused with Salamander Road, ha ha!
    • Actually everyone on the roads was really well behaved. The only person that did any minor tailgating was a local hoon in a Turbo Focus. Unfortunately we weren't going the same way so there was no grand initial D touge battle. Lots of people pulled over and let me through. The amount of "Hey man nice car, omg skyline, nice 34 man woo" was suprising. Like really suprising. Like almost annoying. My partner was obviously surprised, she'd never seen anyone in the real world point out the car/like the car/want to chat about the car before, so to have like 3 people per day mention it was notable, I could finally say SEE? SOMEONE THINKS THEY'RE COOL. Everyone was also pretty suprised about the weather. Every day was dry and about ~13-14C. Mount Wellington had a sign that said they close the gates at 9pm and I was heading up there at about ~7:30. It was VERY apparent that conditions were getting significantly worse by the minute on the way up and down. The road on the mountain was terrible though, it's no driving road. I have various suspension related questions now. Luckily it was only about 20 minutes from where we were staying to the top of the mountain as said Google maps. We only had the 2 nights in Hobart. We went to the Farm Gate Market though which was really good - And went down to the Hastings Thermal springs/caves down there during the day. I'd definitely be up for going back again, so luckily there's a few more sights yet to see. Didn't get to do the west coast/queenstown/cradle mountain so this was supposed to be a 'scouting' trip anyway of sorts if I were to one day do/take part in/organize a more car-focused trip. As for the boat, it wasn't bad. Well it was bad, but not in the way you're thinking. We did the night trip which leaves at 6:45 (though you have to be there ~2 hours earlier) and arrives the next morning at about 6am. There is nothing to do on the ship. If you plan accordingly and bring a book/tablet/show to watch/charger you can just chill out, take some Travacalm and just sleep through it. The food there is an extremely basic buffet that costs $32 a plate, or $14 for a $3 pizza. The way back we had a travel kettle and a few different types of cup noodles and made our own tea/coffee in the room. This was a far superior way to do it. At the very least book one of the rooms with beds. I guess as we were in the off season we didn't have room mates. You get an option for rooms with 4 beds (2x bunks) or a room with just the two bottom beds. There's also some option for a deluxe queen bed but it's much pricer. We've been on sleeper trains in Asia before so we figured this is similar (and it was)
    • You just gotta be really, really, really clear and decisive with what you want your end product to be. 99% of people who want this conversion aren't "I want to run a 295 front tyre!" so they don't really need the widebody. They just want the OEM body to look a little less dumpy, so bonnet, bar, skirts job done with some camber, stretch, slam. It's when you want that, but then decide to pivot later you get big problems. See also if you're willing to get an all in one fibreglass bar, and you're willing to accept fibreglass problems like cracking the entire item on a driveway, instead of just a piece attached to the bottom, etc etc etc. Decide this all before buyin'.
