Hi All,

Have decided to hiflow turbo rather than buy something new (which is proving hard to find) - GCG reccommended I buy GT3040R with .63 housing - I thought this would have been bit big and laggy?!

is GCG the only good place for decent hiflow or are any other Garrett distributors going to be exactly the same?

I am in melb, so would rather one here. Got quoted today in melb some place in Somerton for new ball bearing cartridge, steel wheels, new oil and water lines kit for $1700.

Does this sound the goods or pay extra for GCG.

thanks

Tell us who, and we'll tell you how good.

What you'll find is that a lot of places will actually send your turbos to places like GCG because they have the expensive balancing equipment and all that.

GCG give SAU members a discount, and they are proven to supply exactly what they promise. I think the going rate is about $1750 for the GCG isn't it?

Ask to see dyno charts from the company or to talk to people who have the high flows from them.

I think there name is Garrett & Rotomaster Turbochargers.. Didn't have any dyno charts for rb20, but sounded same 450hp etc..

Also for rb20 is it best to hiflow rb20 or rb25 turbo, much difference?

Cheers

I think the formula for highflowing the RB2XDET turbos is pretty similar.

They probably all use the same bearing cartidge, exhaust and compressor wheels, just depends on the machining of the housings I guess.
