I went to the carpark on Friday night and for short time on Saturday night and it was pretty busy. I saw a fair few skylines around.

The problem I had was I didn't know out of the skylines there if any of them were you guys. We should maybe post up parts of our number plate or something so it's easy to find people in the carpark.

do many of you have uhf's at the moment? i'm thinking of getting one but it's pointless if nobody else has them.

r any of you guys going to the midnight madness sale on saturday night at brisbane car sound or gold coast car sound (which ever one it is)?

The Jackal.. were you out last night with WLD33??

We met up with him (Michael is it?) and PeteSmith said something about you going too... I wasn't really introduced to anyone so I didn't know whether you were there or not!

I've got a UHF handheld (dickie smith special) and as of today have installed a new UHF radio. Its bigger, better and more powerful. As I found out last night ( and have known for some time that the $99 radios aren't that powerful... but loosing your group and trying to keep up with the other group and telling the others where they were heading is quite difficult if the radio doesn't go very far) ... So we have upgraded but are still keeping the handheld for something to communicate with while listening to the scanner. (the uhf we bought has UHF and scanner capabilities). If you like me and want to be able to be heard if you break away from the pack, you might see some interest in buying a more powerful radio than the little handhelds.

But yes to answer your original question.. Quite a few people have UHF radios now down the coast. Its quite handy for someone to sit at the front.. someone at the back to watch out for things..

    • For race cars, this is one part where I find having the roll cage bar having gone through a hole in the floor better than the build it up on a ledge inside... The Merc I help on, the main hoop ends are marked on the car, and the jack is marked... Jack goes under a few inches and lifts one whole side of the car up... Removes that fight for long slim jacks for race car duties!   My biggest issue for the daily drivers I work on, is my jacks don't go high enough. The jacks start out on a few blocks, jack it up, then start a second jack under it on more blocks, and then I can get an axle stand under it. My axle stands are presently in use, and are nearly fully extended. The car is sitting with barely more than a cm of clearance to get the wheel off the studs! Sarah's Kluger is the same, as it has an ungodly amount of droop available in the suspension and a distinct lack of good jacking points!
    • Happy? Yep, my to do list is getting shorter and shorter. Either this light approaching is the end of the tunnel, or I'm about to be hit by a train... Ha ha ha   Also, Duncan isn't that far out of town that you need to make a multi day drive out of it. 😛
    • Sorry I meant that we are building the EH for a client.

    • I have more than enough digging, laying blocks, moving gravel, airrating, feeding and top soiling the grass, and setting up the veggie gardens growing some seedlings,  and then removing all the unused rock to keep me busy for the next few months at least,  hopefully the rain stops soon so I can get a few hours in this arvo, but, before that Sunday is washing day, is every body happy, you bet your life we are Nice country road day drives are a day off whenever I'm muscle sore from all the landscaping at the moment, but, more epic multiple day drives will start once the majority of the big jobs outside are completed
