Apporximatly how much would it cost to get the front end conversion done? I have a quote from Garage-13 for just the frontend. $1500 incl. all parts to do the conversion. Is that a good price? Oh, and then around $200 to get it freighted to Tamworth :D So yeah, how much for an install? Just one more thing, When/if I do the whole front end thing, how much would it cost me to get the whole car re-sprayed in Candy Orange?

Thanks Guys :)

It depends what parts they are giving you.

If that is gaurds, lights, bonnet and all, GO FOR IT.

MASA kit is ~6k

As for spraying a car... one this big...custom color....i wouldnt pay any less them 4-6k for a paint job. I want a black paint job, and my mates a painter, so ill probably get a black job for ~1.5k

As for install, its pretty basic, you COULD even do it yourself, depending how technically minded you are...

I say, dont bother, its a stagea not an R34. If you want R34 front, get an R34 (roughly same price anyway)

I did not think You can get for 1500$ because only head lights its more like 1500$.

One what was probably first in Australia they paid 8000$ for kit only from Japan plus lights ,etc etc.

So maybe is a good price anyway.Try to have a look somwhere else ,maybe???

I reckon it's rice. People keep complaining about how it's a waste of money to make a gtst look like a gtr.

how many times have you guys heard this phrase whenever gtst owners ask about making their cars look like gtrs, they get told 'buy a gtr'.

therefore, in my opinion, it's just rice. for 6k, you can get a nice collection of go fast and handling bits.

Oh no doubt it is rice, but it is not like we are putting gtr badges on it or anything, just a great look, well that is all I am after. I think people who make thier gtst look like a gtr is because they want people to think it is a gtr, whereas there is no way we could make people believe that they made a gtr wagon, oh hang on a sec they did, but they called it a Stagea :D

But as you said, the price leaves more than a deirable effect on other possible mods, turbo, suspension, brakes, rb26dett, etc etc etc.

Still, god damn I love the look of it.

  • 1 month later...

What are the full parts required for the conversion

Front guards- masa motorsports $75000 yen pair plus shipping etc say $1500

Bonnet- factory r34 GTR or carbon copy $1000

Head lights $500 pair s/hand

Front bar- R34 GTR genuine $750-1000 s/hand

Thats the obvious parts

What else

Bonnet hinges?

Radiator support? $500?

Bonnet catch? GTR? $150?

Once fitted, does the front guards flare out wider than the factory Stagea guards?

If yes, would you need wider offset wheels for it to look good?

If the whole thing costs 5-6K plus paint and fitting, you can sell your old parts for upto 2k to offset the costs :)

    • Forgot to include this but this is the mid section of my steering rack that looks like it has a thread/can be turned with that notch mentioned in the post:
    • Hey everyone, Wanted to pick some brains about this issue I'm having with rebuilding my 33 rack (PN is 49001-19U05). All of the tutorials/videos I've seen online are either R34 or S Chassis racks which seem to be pretty straightforward to disassemble but this process doesnt carry over to my rack. Few of the key differences that I've noted The pinion shaft on the other racks bolt on with 3 torx bolts: Whereas my rack bolts on with 2 allen head bolts: These changes are pretty inconsequential but the main difference is how you pull the actual rack out of the housing. The other skyline/s chassis racks can be taken out by tapping the rack out of the body with a socket and it just slides right out. I'm unable to do that with my rack because there's a hard stop at the end that doesn't let the seal/shaft be tapped out. Can also see a difference in the other end of the rack where mine has a notch that looks like you're able to use a big wrench to unthread 2 halves of the rack whereas the other racks are just kinda set in with a punch. My rack: Other racks: TLDR; Wanted to know if anyone has rebuilt this specific model of steering rack for the R33 and if there were any steps to getting it done easier or if I should just give this to a professional to get done. Sorry if this post is a bit messy, first one I've done.
    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
    • Can I suggest you try EBC directly again and link them to as many competitor catalogues as you can to show their listing is incorrect, eg https://dba.com.au/product/front-4000-series-hd-brake-rotor-dba42304/ If you have access to an R33 GTST VIN and your VIN, you could also use a Nissan Parts lookup like Amayama to show them the part number is different between 33 GTST and 34 GTT which may get their attention
    • So i got reply from EBC and they just this site where you can clearly see those 296mm fronts on R34 GTT. I send them photos and "quotes" that 296mm are not for 34 GTT and they are too small. But it will be very hard to return them cuz nobody here knows 100% and they just copy those EBC catalogue :-D https://ebcbrakesdirect.com/automotive/nissan/skyline-r34
