Sounds good STAGEN, you happy with the performance? The time is getting close till I get my car ^_^ Cant wait! :)

Cheers,

Chris

For a daily driver, it's fine. With the exhaust (once l get it ... don't ask :D ) and a few other things l think l'll be quiet content with it.

I've got another car for my performance needs.

AMS, na better, i was exactly the same

When i was looking around for a Stagea i was reading up heaps here and asking questions and stuff.

But its funny, because i am saying that even with the amount of people on this stagea forum which isnt many, several still havnt received theirs yet, highlighting the uniqueness and rarity of a stagea in Australia.

Mmm...cant wait to upgrade to a M35 in ~2 years when compliance and all that exists!

Well, the way things are going at the moment, there are several investments i will be making and possibly putting a deposit down on a house. So that could limit me with money spending.

The way i see things, enjoy everything while it lasts. Manualize the car now, will be more fun for the time being. Hey, i dont know what will happend, i may keep it for a long time or i could upgrade, but the plan at the moment is that within 2-3 years to be able to afford an M35

  • 2 weeks later...

Got the strut bar in ... and WOW ... does that make one hell of a big difference. No longer does it feel so "floaty" round corners. Thanks again Alex for it!! :)

For the melb pep's ... ICE performance, best place to go to get a SAFC II tuned? Its installed, just need tuning done on it.

Exhaust & other parts that weren't originally sent down with car still not here, dragging the chain a bit they are. Supposedly l'm guarantee'd it mon/tues next week, l'm not holding my breathe though.

And my 18's are going soon as well ..... new, bigger shoe's & rubber are going on .... W00T!! :P:)

On another note, haven't received one bad comment bout the car, everyone that see's it loves it ... according to one mate "once the wheels & wing are on, thats one awesome Jap Cruiser!!". Even got a few thumbs up & smiles from other skyline drivers i've seen when out driving!!

Your car is a little more noticable then mine.

I dont get too many thumbs up, infact, heaps of people even dont notice :)

Told you to hold off putting the strut bar for a week, so you can actually feel the differce. Most people have them std and take it for granted :P

I held off for a week .. was registered last thurs :P

And can def tell the difference. Once l have some spare coin l might look into the rear strut bar as well.

my car looks the same as yours atm ... well just a bit lower coz of kit. Still got the 33 wheels on it.

Next chassis bracing that ill get is the Do-Luck RXB (rear cross bar)

Goes from the driver seatbelt bottom point, to the passenger. I have heard good things about them, and they, as much as possible helps. I dont really want a cage either, that would kinda ruin the car.

Rear strut brace would be annoying for carrying stuff, so not sure about that either.

Yup, swaybars will be my first point of call with the suspension, just got to save a little more. At this stage(a) - sorry, bad joke but I luv it! - after todays further tuning I wont be doing anymore mods until next July, when I get my yearly work bonus.

Then I grab a rear shock for the Fireblade, and swaybars and front discs/braided lines for the Stagea. I only drive it a few times a week, so not really needing suspension work done as yet.

Stagen, glad you are now on the road! AMS, its now 1500 posts, whats going on?! Addicted Id say! :P

Brendan

    • Mixing things up - installed some leather recaros to match the leather seat covered rear seats. Interior looks pretty schmick now except for some slight wear on the steering wheel which I will monitor and address if it becomes worse or actually noticeable!

    • I'm normally copping my own abuse from neglecting my daily drivers. "Those suspension bushes will last a bit more", "Don't worry about the oil leak, just keep topping it up". The project cars I'm always doing things slowly on them as I'm wanting them to be done better, and neater, and nicer. Luckily I don't have to deal with 18 year old Matt's "Learning to wire" stuff in the project cars. And there's only one piece of wiring I'm displeased about in the Landcruiser, and it's about to be cut out... However, the box loads of parts that have been going through this place lately for the Landcruiser... Brake pads Brake Rotors Full handbrake overhaul Wheel Bearings Seals Swivel hubs Steering Boxes Half the suspension joints Shocks Air bags (Ones to go in the rear springs for towing) Water pump Timing kit Lower timing case Harmonic Balancer Radiator Lots of other little seals and shits Gas struts for the bonnet New power window switches And god knows what else I've forgotten... Ha ha ha I have my fingers crossed the pinion seals don't start leaking on the diffs, that the transfer case doesn't leak, and the gearbox input shaft doesn't leak, nor the rear main seal. As they're about the only seals I haven't replaced in the driveline! I'm seriously eyeing off buying new caliper rebuild kits front and rear brake calipers... I'll probably recheck all the valve clearances soon too, and hopefully, it should be all good and sweet to haul some long distance trips again!
    • Every time I pull my 3x gauges out of the console and see the crack-addict way that I did the wiring, and I just can't bring myself to tear it all apart and "make it nice", because it is currently working. In fact, the last time I was in there I probably made it worse.
