See'ya:burnout:

Nahh not up and runnig yet. Was gonna try and get it up and runnig last nite but mum cranked out the food and the rellies came round and before u know it im stuffed to the gills and half pissed. not really in the mood :P

I think there are some bigger probs but we will see how it goes with fresh plugs and oil first. The oil was synthetic but was black as and gritty too. i dont think its been changed in 15 odd thousand k. Plus on of the sparks was soild and the rest were getting close. the engine does have 210k on it might need some new gaskets too.

U should see the bruise i got from getting that oil filter off. Had to puit my feet on the wall and basically doa superman accross the engine bay to get at it. The block was pushing into my shoulder and left a nice mark.

EW engine with the oil filter on teh firewall side of the block

    • The best part is when you own the car long enough that you look back and find your OWN ham fisted amateur shit!
    • The annoying part about neglect, is when you start to replace one thing, and find ten more broken things. Ham fisted monkey repairs you normally only find out about when trying to do something unrelated! Ha ha   Neglect you can kind of anticipate the huge costs to fix it all. Ham fistedness is normally a shock the first time your work on a new old car, as everything "looked" good before.
    • For DBA, check out their guide table here. https://dba.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/Direct_Replacement-Guide-2021.2.pdf   Additionally they have some other guides and info on how to make sure you choose the right pad.
    • Sorry, just assumed that talk of coloured pads meant EBC red/green/yellow/shit stuff. I don't know the DBA pads, but it's a reasonable bet that they will be OK. DBA make good stuff generally. Those 4000 series rotors I linked to are very good. I may well replace the RDA rotors I have with those when required.
    • The average previous owner for these cars were basically S-chassis owners in the US. Teenagers or teenager-adjacent. I often tell people that neglect is easier to fix than something that was actively "repaired" by previous owners.
