Steering Wheel Removal

Does anyone know how to remove the steering wheel off an R33 series 1 with an airbag (the standard wheel)? I know how to remove the centre nut and actually take the wheel off, but i can't get to the nut.

Any ideas?

That is fair enough, but I don't think that it applies over here in Victoria. Not that i have heard of anyway.

I know that it makes the car unroadworthy, but so does my pod.

I've been trying all afternoon to get it off with no luck. There is a star bolt on the side, anyone know if i need to undo that to get the steering wheel off?

My wheel has a rattle in it so if u do eventually work out how to take the stupid thing off post back so i can do it to mine.

you have 2 screw either side of the airbag you will see they have a little cover over the screws that need to be removed before you can see the screw

Yeah, that makes sense, but those bolts are kind of a star shape, so now i have to find something that will undo them.

i badly want my wheel off but its illegal, no business will do it 4 that reason, beacuse if an airbag is removed from a car that has it standard, and a fatal accident occurs, its like a $10,000 fine and 5 years in jail

sure the accident might never happen, but 4 the plain reason its not worth the risk, people wont do it

can someone pls tell us how to get the actual wheel of in general? i have a sports wheel i wanna put on, but dont know how! i dont have a air bag, just a stock wheel on a r33 n/a

there are about 2 or 3 star bolts around the steering wheel, then there is 1 big nut holding it from the middle behind the horn. just be very careful with the airbag
