As the thread says, my Maroon 1987 NA Vl was stolen Tuesday morning from the Fairfield area in Brisbane, QLD Number plates were 272PXH.

It is registered / insured in my name but I gave it to my little sister about 6 months ago (I drive the 33 Skyline remember). Big problem is, when she paid the insurance she renewed only for 3rd party (she thought she was getting fire and theft as well). So now I'm down the value of the car and my sister is finding it almost impossible to get to work and uni.

Karma will catch the low life scum who stole it so I don't have too. But that does not get my car back. So I'm offering a $$cash$$ reward (no questions asked) for information leading to the return of the car or conviction of the theif.

Thanks all.

"Another one bites the dust"

Please don't take that the wrong way, just pointing out that yet ANOTHER VL commodore gets stolen. It's getting ridiculous these days.

I hope you find it or karma catches up with the wankers who stole it.

Hey everyone, I've got good news and bad news:

Good news: The car was found.

Bad news: It is a puddle of molten metal - supprise, supprise.

Coppers found it in the bush around Wacol area (again supprise, supprise).

Must have been a big fire, the glass all melted, even the cam cover was a puddle in the engine bay.

Really pissed off because the low lifes just took it and floged the crap out of it then burnt it, they did not even bother taking anything from it, (It had a couple of guages, decent stereo and VN Calis mags, extractors, so on).

I'm not really supprised, I did not expect it would turn up in working order.

Bummer, I had some good times in that car!!!

If I ever find out who did it I will make them pay dearly.

Well there was a little (evil) part of me that was hoping they were still inside. But they were not, so I'm pretty sure they crashed it then burnt it. I really hope it hurt when they pranged it.

    • So either way it is gearbox out and look what is wrong?  I know about the input shaft bearing. Even before swap/new clutch the it sounded exactly like this: So is that inout shaft bearing or the other was installed backwards?  And can some please tell me the part number for that input shaft bearing? The gearbox is small box from R34 N/A and number is FS5W71C. Thank you
    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
    • D2 and Ksport are essentially the same thing and basically just generic Taiwanese manufacture. Better than ChinaBay crap, but... not top shelf. Öhlins have got to be some of the best dampers around, so likely to be a good option. It's going to get to the point though where I suggest you buy from Oz. We have at least 2x excellent options here. If I were you though, I'd be talking to KW about doing something for the R33. There's bugger all difference between that and the 32. In GTR land, anyway.
    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
    • Well, the good news is you have more than one very good option for new coilovers in and around your country. Worth the drive over to KW to talk about GTR stuff.
