Hey Guys,

As you may have noticed in recent times, my Stagea is up for sale ;) *wink*

So I am considering buying an R34 GTT coupe or sedan when I sell her. Just want to know a few things first. Before you ask, yes I did search, but couldnt find anything significant...here we go ;)

1. Is it cheaper to buy an auto and convert it to manual? :)

2. Is there much difference between the coupe and the sedan (please dont state the obvious :) )

3. What offset wheels do they take? :D

4. Can you buy flared guards for the sedan?

5. What kind of bodykit does the 'Blitz' R34 Sedan have?

6. Does anyone on here own this R34...(or know who does)?

Thanks guys, much appreciated :(

Cheers,

Chris

OH, did I mention my Stagea was for sale?

Hey Guys,

As you may have noticed in recent times, my Stagea is up for sale  ;) *wink*

So I am considering buying an R34 GTT coupe or sedan when I sell her. Just want to know a few things first. Before you ask, yes I did search, but couldnt find anything significant...here we go  :)

1. Is it cheaper to buy an auto and convert it to manual?  Not really unless you are doing most of the work yourself it would be more sensible to by a manual in the first place.

2. Is there much difference between the coupe and the sedan (please dont state the obvious : Performance wise not a lot, except the sedan is slightly heavier, and more room.  Manuals in a sedan are rare as hens teeth but they are around if you look hard enough.

3. What offset wheels do they take?  standard wheels are +40 but should take wheels with +35, +38 If you want them to sit further flush with the guards.

4. Can you buy flared guards for the sedan? : Not that I have seen any for sale but I guess its not impossible to get one made up.

5. What kind of bodykit does the 'Blitz' R34 Sedan have? That would be the URAS kit. www.uras.co.jp

6. Does anyone on here own this R34...(or know who does)? : Don't know who owns this. but looks good :)

Answers as above...strictly my own opinion as I have done my own research before settling for a sedan version. Everyone else please feel free to comment. Do a search on "tiptronic" as well...don't be put off by the auto because with tiptronic its like almost having the best of both worlds. Good luck in your hunt!

I don't think buying an auto and converting it into manual is worth the effort and time though. What's more, certain things might not be compatiable with each other.

Sedans mostly come with tiptronic. Not a big difference between Sedans and Coupes. Same engine anyway.

If you are looking at importing one in...:)

    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
    • Thank you so much for the help
    • Yes it is ATF. I quote @Duncan "it takes a good synthentic auto trans fluid like Castrol Transmax Z" It's not a diff. It's a transfer case. Totally different thing. Yes, fluid will come out the sender hole. No you do not really need to drain it. Just pull the old, quickly poke the new, clean up and top up. But realistically, you should probably take the opportunity to change it anyway.
    • Hey all. I’m looking on replacing my speed sensor on my R33 GTR. Will the center differential need to be drained, and if so, the center diff uses ATF fluid D? I found information on the transmission, front diff and rear diff. Can’t find a for sure answer for the center diff. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
