hi guys my car has started to develop a falling an surging idle....... a fellow skyline owner told me that he to had the same problem and after checks he discovered that the airflow sensor was the cause he told me that he cleaned it an it the idle problem ceased i was wondering if anybody had serviced these meters an could provide instructions on how to do so i also read in another forum that using oil on ya airfilters such as the k&n oil causes the meter to do this i was wondering how true this was but any help in this problem would be greatly appreciated as the idle falls that low sometimes that if ya try to drive off the car stalls....... very embarrasing

spray what exactly????  i was told that it was made up of a number of pins an that if they were to become bent then this problem could occur

Take the afm out, and spray directly through it. There are little pins you can see inside the afm. Even if they look like they arent dirty spray them, dust is all it takes.

I very much doubt your air filter will be causing rough idle almost to stall point. Unless its been dropped in mud. Simply take it out and start the car. If it idles smooth then clean it or get a new one. Or just clean it first and see if it makes a difference.
