Carsguide.com agrees with what was said there, including the bit on likely engine specs.

"Just what is under the bonnet or in the cabin remains a closely guarded secret but the smart money is on a 3.7-litre bi-turbo V6 punching out something in the range of 350kW, driving all four wheels through a seven-speed sequential gearbox."

Not sure how good a 7 speed sequential box will go down with long time GTR fans though. I know the BMW M5 fans went nuts when it was revealed the 7 speed sequential box (SMGIII) was the only choice for the E60 M5. But I guess some will hate it, some will love it. I just hope it comes with a 6 speed manual as an option.

interesting sideline on the quote:

"Launched in 1990, the original GT-R cost $110,000 and only 100 were imported. It was so powerful, it dominated Australian motor racing in the early 1990s (until the rules were changed to ban it from racing) and out-paced thoroughbred European cars. The GT-R's cult status has seen subsequent generations imported into Australia privately"

from what i've found, nissan struggled to sell the 32 gtr, and managed only 70 something sales of the 100 imported gtr's. sad huh?

another interesting aside - the guy who owns the original 'skaife/richards' gtr reckons he has to keep it behind glass because of the hatred for that car - even to this day V8 diehards are still spitting on it.

can anyone else here remember 'gentleman jim' saying 'you're all a pack or arseholes" ???

long live the pushron moron.

    • I like they don't raise their hands into the air when they shift their sequential boxes, seems to be a thing here in Australia lol...
    • I'm not normally one for posting random videos, but I thought we'd all appreciate the honesty about how broken our cars tend to be lol. Genuine skyline life here.
    • New CAS just turned up from NZ Wiring. Looks like a nice bit of gear.  So, yeah. Triggered, bro. Realised I may as well do the cam belt while mucking about with it so will order one of them.
    • Even more fun, leave all the ADAS stuff plugged in, but in different locations, hopefully avoid any codes!   And honestly, all these new cars with their weird electronics. Pull all the electronics out Duncan, and just shove an aftermarket ECU and if needed a trans controller in, along with a PDM. Make it run basic but race car styled!
    • To follow up a question from earlier too since I had the front bar off again (fking!) This is what is between the bumper and the drivers side wheel And this is the navigator side, only one thing but its a biggy! So basically....no putting coolers in the wheel arches without a lot of moving other stuff. Assuming I move to properly race prepping this car I'll take that job on and see how the computers respond to removing a whole bunch of ADAS modules
