Anyone had any experience with the Powerlock immobiliser???

Following extracted from the CarSafe website (just in case you are looking for an immobiliser):

STANDARD FEATURES

All Australian Standards approved immobiliser systems include:

Automatic immobilisation within 40 seconds of ignition switch-off

Two independent points of immobilisation

Connections enclosed in security housing

All black security wiring

Flashing dashboard LED when system is armed

Secure owner PIN override.

Engine immobilisers fitted under the Immobilise Now! Program do not include an alarm as a standard, but some models may be integrated with an alarm and other optional features.

Most insures will require an Australian Standards approved immobiliser for Comprehensive cover.

Not sure if it is an immobiliser or not but I did some testing of the factory remote. If it is "armed" (closed with remote button) and you open the door with the key itself, as soon as you put the key in the ignition, the horn sounds and the lights flash. Must admit didn't try starting it though.

There are some other things that trigger off the horn as well when I was playing around but can't think of them just now.

Perhaps just try locking doors with remote, opening door with the key and try starting the car (whilst ignoring the horn going off is yours does that). If it starts then no immobiliser but if it doesn't then perhaps it has one.

Would be interested to know the results.

No luck. Mine did no such thing and the engine wasn't immobilised. Sounds like you have either a factory fitted alarm or an aftermarket one.

You have me curious now - must go and check whether the car start whilst the horn is sounding, etc. Must be factory or using th factory key remote as that is the only one I have.

    • And this is the the thing with a high powered, AWD, heavy car. The engine is easy, the driveline costs just as much as the engine. 🤷‍♂️ Welcome to GTRland. Whatever you think your budget is, double it. Whatever you think your timeline is, triple it.
    • I thought I'd heard rumor of someone that was developing a 6 speed kit to convert the 5 speed box. But maybe I was thinking of the PPG 6 speed sequential? That's about half the price of a car...
    • I've searched fairly extensively among Japanese websites but found nothing really like those skirts in your photo. The closest I got was Origin Labo side skirts however they look more 'complete' in that they have a finishing piece or tab at the rear of the skirt so it blends into the bodywork, unlike the one in your pic. For that reason I'd say the skirts in your pic could be adapted from another car and they didn't include that tab piece, or those skirts aren't copied from an existing skirt but an original design. Sorry I can't help out in regard to ID'ing/sourcing them

    • There's a big difference between a car built with millions of dollars in R&D, and someone like yourself taking a normal sporty road car, and making it 5 times more powerful. At the same time, get a modern sports car, and you can turn them up towards the 1000hp mark a lot easier too. Also, give that Lambo another 20 odd runs, and chances are it too may break something.
