Space Goat
i was speaking to a mate that owns a car audio shop and said that a rep told him that rockford fosgate might be or already has sold the company to a japanese company meaning that the quality will drop dramatically but the price will also be affected... he warned me to stay away from all their new stuff as its made in japan and not as good as their old american stuff... dont take this seriously im just relaying what i heard, if anyone in the know could shed some light on this for me... im thinking of buying another two more rockford amps and might stick to the old stuff instead of the new stuff Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/96305-rockford-fosgate/ Share on other sites

Chris Rogers
he's a bit confused. fosgate is fosgate still. Lightning Audio WAS owned by fosgate but has been sold. so the US based items are still good. I deal with lightning audio and to me its every bit as gutsy as the upper fosgate amps that is it actually designed from. may want to get your mate to check with the distibutor. the above was told to me via the fosgate rep I deal with. Coupe-This
The japs make speakers differently i think ... because of the different music and all of that ... more trebble than bass or something. Just something i've picked up over the years, dont know how true it is or not tho.
