  1. dont want to tread on any sponsors toes... but you should be able to destroy Aus prices if buying them in Japan. Even if you pay full RRP. Shops arent usually the best places for good deals, compare the price of Slides stuff and work it out for yourself.
  2. I saw this mythical beast and tried to kill it in a car accident only a week ago or so... but of course failed.
  3. quick skim and there is nothing about dip switches. did you buy them off me? if so I can help out, if not you know where to shop next time LOL *FAQ says if boost reading low check your earth is ok.

  5. ^^apologies if I came off a bit harsh... just the general snobbishness of alot of circut racers has got me a little more standoffish than I should be and as you have found with a quick google search for some reason ppl hate it with out any experience and very little knowledge about it. yeah drifting uses a fair amount of tyres meaning the poorer guys have to use cheap tyres which usually have softer/sloppier sidewalls which can be rectified by stretching on to wider rims if you are a tyre garage and have everything to lose and nothing to gain then I wouldnt be fitting tyres to non recommended wheel size either. just look at the anti stretch hype that is around. If the car crashed and it wasnt anything to do with the tyres it could come up as a possible reason just due to specualtion and then you are in the crap.
  6. basically wrong in every assumption. to be fair if you go crazy with stretch ie. 215 40 17 on a 10" rim you are looking at potential problems with it rolling off the bead. 245 on a 10 is as safe as houses. doesnt compromise the sidewall strength what so ever... I guess thats another one of those rumours started by the deisel squirter brigade. looks are subjective... but just have a look at any concept sketch (which is supposed to LOOK good) and generally they will have something that resembles wide rims with good fitment and *gasp* stretched tyres. Arguing about what is legal? to be honest it probably is illegal but as tyres are only recommended for certain sizes the rules will be pretty vague and I dont think there is a specific law against fitting stretched tyres? I could be wrong though. contact patch is not changed, only the sidewalls are, tyres have been steel belted for quite some time now and a 245 40 will have near identical grip if fitted to a 10J or an 8J rim, except if its a cheap tyre when fitted to the 8J it will feel very sloppy and unpredictable and finally again no, the less traction is good assumption is again from those deisel squirting talkers LOL If you bothered to read the thread you would have read the many reasons why stretching is beneficial, one of them being improved response/feel from cheaper tyres with soft sidewalls. I got to say I would have thought skyline owners would be able to think outside the box a little more, as the amount of crap they must cop from the Holden/Ford guys must get tiresome. I find it really weird that ppl that are seen as out of the norm and doing there own thing in the Aus car scene would have so much trouble accepting something `different`(and in many ways BETTER) just like their nissan Vs Ford/Holden mentality.
  7. ^^cam pulleys are very difficult to dial in and get a noticeable gain... easy to get it wrong and usaully advancing the cam will improve top end at the cost of bottom end and visa versa. Tomei cams will make more power with extra duration and lift over stock items but as already has been said the performance gain to cost ratio isnt worth it with your setup.
  8. I fitted a bush camber correction kit to my 180 years ago... biggest waste of money how much are adjustable arms for stageas? surely thast a better option?
  9. dont be too harsh on benm and blind_elk they probably think drift cars have diesel squirters aswell LOL Id still like to know where these ridiculous rumours start. on topic. get a bicycle tube and do it yourself. as for why run stretched tyres, not just for fitment but it helps with sidewall flex and makes the car more predictable on transitions. If you have enough money for super expensive tyres the sidewalls are stiff enough so its not a problem, most ppl cant afford to burn up top end tyres so stretching is a good way to get side wall flex out and some predictability in to cheapy tyres.

    Bikes In Japan

if you want to use a bike and save money 250cc is where its at. Ive been riding here for about 4-5 years. 250cc no shaken! yearly reg is ~8k yen. bigger bikes can be pretty pricey to buy and shaken etc is extra cost. And yeah alot of them are detuned alot but I think it depends on the model. Depends what you want the bike for, after 4 years on the roads here those 250cc scooters like the Forza start to make alot of sense. Only reason Im still on my trusty CBR is cause they are so cheap. bikes Ive owned Kawasaki 250ZZR 40k yen (complete pile of poo but did 20k kms with out too much trouble and sold it for 40k yen when I had enough of it) Suzuki 250cc Bandit. 40k yen (pile of crap, ran like shit and lost money on it. spent about 40k getting it running and sold it for 40k not long after) Honda CBR 250 RR 90k yen (awesome bike, 30k kms later and still rocking) Slow and no real luggage capacity... but great for lane splitting which is a must in japan.
  11. ^^LOLs wonder if/when Ill get to that stage. getting on towards 6 years for me now. My japanese is still woeful... maybe thats the secret? LOL I still enjoy it here. I think I like cars and being a hooligan too much 34 now, best thing about Japan is that it seems you can get away with being an idiot a lot later in your life than in aus?
  12. one of the best things about Japan is the fact the road laws and cops ARENT like australia, as soon as it gets anything like that I will seriously consider leaving.
  13. ^^really! Ive been checked atleast 10-15 times now and they still havent brought out the real deal. usually Im on my bike though and blow through the full face opening so Im guessing they cant be arsed waiting for me to take my helmet off etc to check me properly.
  14. most famous one is upgarage... over priced and not really worth buying from. still interesting to check out a whole shop full of used performance bits though.
  15. actually its nearly the same in Japan but rather than saying 1/2 drinks is ok they just make it a blanket NO. If you get pulled up and have only had 1 or 2 you will be ok. I taught a few cops back in my teaching days and went in to great length about the exact details of drink driving etc. *Interesting note is that the first check they give you is with a dummy machine that looks like a microphone... its nothing! LOL its just to speed things up as a proper blow reader like in aus apparently takes too much time! So they try and smell your breath and look at how guilty you appear and then decide if they need to bring out the proper tester.
  16. Yeah I basically do what nengun and greenline do except cheaper (lower cut for me) and the drop in business is just crazy. Looking at buying a cheap ps3 and just locking my self in a room for a couple of months to save money and wait for the exchange rates to get halfway normal BTW: currently at 68yen... still not enough to get any business flowing though
  17. it all works on speculation and sense of security so even the most educated in the feild can only guess. Economics is ghey and retarded. As far as a recovering AUD, the `experts` have said late this year then changed to early next year and the latest Ive read now is March next year... but I think they just change their stories to suit whats happening at the moment and they really dont have a clue what they are talking about
  18. I just wish it would be as stable as any other currency around the world. Massive fluctuations like this make doing business impossible
  19. with the dollar roughly 35% down you can charge 35% more! so does that work into my salary aswell LOL
  20. and now we are in the 60s!! man I just wish I had my money in Japan, Id come back to Aus and buy a mansion at this rate LOL unfortunately Im on the other side of this
  21. ^^have a nice trip, Im just trying to figure out how to pay next months rent
  22. I have nearly $40k in AUD and no money here to live on at the moment. So Im totally screwed lol what I dont understand is if they pull money out of investments like japan then shouldnt the yen also fall? I dont give a rats about how the AUD compares to the USD. PS. thanks to all the customers who pay on time, unfortunately there is a large % that dont and now Im really caught out Maybe I should move back to Aus and start working on a farm??
  23. ^^Yeah thats kind of why I posted this topic. Im hopeless at economics but I thought that the currency was kind of linked to the economy. Isnt Australia supposed to be no problems at the moment (and was booming recently) while japan is in panic about massive losses... yet the AUD is massively down on the yen WTF!?!?? 35% loss is huge isnt it? Ive been exporting for 5 years and have never seen that kind of drop before. and yet the economies are reverse???
  24. yeah I dont think anyone will be getting anything from japan anytime soon with ~35% of the cost extra disappearing into exchange rate space. There goes my wife and I`s soul source of income now if only the Yen would follow suit and dive maybe the AUD wouldnt be so bad compared LOL
  25. The americans are crying about their economy and they are only down ~15yen compared to 2 months ago. Australia is down nearly 35 yen from 2 months ago!!!! I know the yen isnt the benchmark but still that sounds seriously bad! how are things in Aus at the moment? many large banks/businesses folding yet? *Forgive my lack of knowledge when it comes to Economics, but this massive drop in the AUD will effect me hugely
