  1. Whats funny is that Aussie beef is cheaper and better with out the risk of mad cow... kind of makes you wonder how any American beef gets sold here at all!?!?
  2. "that place" being my house, the drift spot in my avatar or the yakiniku restaurant? LOL
  3. well I just bought a pretty decent 250cc bike with 16k kms on it for $550 last week and I can get all you can eat yakiniku ( kind of steak) with rice and all you can drink soft drinks for about $16... its not always that bad anyway on topic, PRESA you have PM
  4. just something that you might like to be aware of... Upgarage is kinda like JMS or something in Australia. Ie. They buy cheap parts and then mark them up as much as what people are willing to pay for them. Meaning you virtually NEVER get a bargain from them. Wheels and tyres seem to be the occasional exception. If you are after cheap parts being sent to aus you are much better off searching yahoo auctions and getting someone to send them over
  5. An r200 lsd centre weighs in at about 10kg. ;) I have had no issues sending them via post. That said though, if you can organise to fill a container that will work out alot cheaper... good luck getting anything like that off the ground though.

Ive been here a bit over 2 years and my Japanese is shameful although I seem to be able to communicate with most of the guys out at Nanko. So I guess its better than non existant. Yeah I do have a bit of a "thing" about foreigners I run into... but mainly cause none of them are here doing what Im doing so its kind of like talking with a stranger that has little incommon apart from being in Japan (which I get saturated with at work). So call me a snob but most giagin in Japan are pretty boring as they come out with nearly word for word identical stories/questions.

    Drunk in Osaka

If you wanna go out drifting my car *may* be on the road again in the next couple of days.
  9. Dont get me wrong I think in general Japanese are probably more honest and possibly less likely to commit crime than westerners (at the same time they are alot more likely to walk past a stranger who is dying on the side of the street though) It was just that I couldnt let your comments slide as it is the general Japanese consensus that crime is committed by foreigners when in fact Ive had alot of crime commited against me by Japanese! Your right, I cant say it was definitely Japanese people committing the crimes but with so few foreigners in Japan the odds dont look very good LOL
  10. 1st bicycle. 2nd bride seat, jack, and all my tools. 3rd failed attempt at stealing my scooter but totally stuffed the ignition lock not to mention Ive been attacked by a very japanese looking guy with a pole. I also think I figured out why they dont let foreigners into bars... its not coz the foreigners cause trouble its coz the Japanese beat them up. Happened to a mate last weekend! He was so drunk he didnt even fight back, he just kept getting hit till he fell down. Guess it could have been a Korean or Chinese guy though LOL
  11. Hrrrm there must be ALOT of foreigners where I live as I have had alot of things stolen over the last 18 months living in Osaka. Strange with the population being 99.9% japanese and all though. :uhh:
  12. be careful at nanko... there is this gaigin in a white s13, dont go near him. (unless you have nice tits)
  13. yeah they could but they basically dont and thats the big difference between here and Aus. I have been sliding past cops in 3rd gear and they dont give chase.... in Aus I do NOTHING and get raped. Hmmmm Japanese cops one thing I wish we could export! LOL
  14. well there are definitely laws and drifting is not legal... but to put things in context I have been drifting a very illegally modified car here atleast 3 times a week on the street for the past 1.5 - 2 years and have had zero fines (touch wood)... Ive been fined more on my 50cc scooter! LOL I take a 2 week vacation back in Melbourne and while driving my 180 I get stung for over $400 worth of fines while doing 40ks in a 60 zone... that incident must have added atleast 2 or 3 years to my stay here, it happened more than a year ago and Im still pissed off about it LOL so to me, yes Japan is a "no rules, no care wonderland"; atleast when you compare it to Aus anyway sorry I wont contradict any more of your posts Rezz but just couldnt let that one slide
  15. dammit why arent I a pro drifter yet
  16. yeah Ive only been here a couple of years. Perhaps I put blinkers on to the more annoying aspects of Japan but without them it wouldnt be Japan. ie. If people didnt stare and treat you differently (sometimes better, sometimes worse) then it would be just another thing that is like home. This is actually a reason why I dont like Tokyo that much; its alot more of an international city and that seperation of foreigners doesnt seem as big as other places and to me it just doesnt feel like `real` japan. I think that your lifestyle really dictates where the best place to be is. For me drifting and being a general nuisance is what I love and do most of the time. In japan its infinitely better than Australia for that reason... but I sure wouldnt want to raise a kid here. So Im in Japan for now and when circumstances change then I might think about heading back. eg. At the moment I go out and drift and talk crap with D1 drivers atleast a couple of times a week... back home.... well I guess Ive got track days once a month or I could have interesting conversations with the cops LOL For work I put in half the number of hours I did in my IT job in Aus and comparing to the amount I used to actually clear its alarmingly close. Can I stay here being an english teacher and drifting till Im 50? certainly not... but at the moment Im drifting 3-4 times a week and putting in a whopping 20hours of work (talking to mainly uni/highschool chicks) so for me at the moment the positives of being here far outweigh the sh!tty parts.
