  1. Hi all, I drive a series 1 R33 Skyline ('95). I find that on a full tank, the car can go about 250-300kms. Is that about the normal mileage?? And how my litres is a standard fuel tank (for R33)? Thanks Adrian
  2. Tea Tree Plaza.... shopping mall just north East of the city. Defensive Driving course sounds good. How much would we have to pay to participate? Count me in, if its less than $200. adrian
  3. I'm game for Friday nite 9pm - Bunnings Mile End (Donald Bradman Dr?? ) After Thur's downpour, Friday (29deg day) should dry up - Perfect! See ya there adrian
  4. I'll go if its on next week. This week's not good for me.
  5. Congrats John! You own a 9sec GTR! *worship* *worship* Any plans to take it lower than that??? Gotta set new goals now!! Maybe an 8sec ute? hehe Well done again, Adrian
  6. My ECU is the LT12 (for R33). Sold to me by RPM (Sth Aust). Theyre a distributor who sent the ECU back to manufacturer (in Vic). According to RPM, the ECU board was not assembled correctly causing some electrical issues in it. Once 'fixed' and sent back, RPM retuned the ECU to suit my car..and all is well...except for the "drop in fuel pressure" problem. I suggest you have your mechanic clean up your car's idle solenoid valve...it could be dirty. And then have the ECU retuned.
  7. i was told you could get presold ticks at certain places (Gemispares being one of them) for $15. Is that true? Anywhere else we can go to get the ticks? I think its $20 on the day...
  8. Well, I've got my microtech ECU back, and the guys have the retuned it so that the volatile idling (up and down between 400 and 800rpm, especially with A/C on) is fixed. However, the car still loses a lot of fuel pressure on take off from first gear..ie rev drops dramatically on releasing the clutch. Wonder if the guys at Tilbrooks can fix this anomaly...
  9. What time did the cruise finish? Anyone want to write a little report of the evening? ..So that the ones who didnt go, knows what they've missing! ad
  10. Drats! My gal wanted to go home after Mt Lofty summit. Cant believe she wasnt pumped after seeing all those PHAT skylines?!! Crazy woman! I'll join the cruise ALL the way next time...without her! Matt, glad you finally answered your phone (instead of voice msg)! Thanks for the directions! adrian
  11. I'll probably check out the temple scene after the cruise! Watch some fireworks...or get some fireworks going for myself...hehe. Matt, is your car a ricey R32, or a ricey R33 . Probably be lots of rice mobiles there tonite...
  12. sorry to invade this space...but Anyone know the address of the chinese temple at Ottoway (just off Grand Junction rd? Thanks
  13. Matt, What does your skyline look like...hope I can recognise it when I'm there! Dotcom, where's this temple with exotic dancers?! I'll give up the cruise for thaT!! I'm only human... weather's perfect, should be a good nite! adrian
  14. hi there, I'm interested in going but like hippy, i'll be stuck with the chinese New Year celebrations till later. Is there a map for this Friday's cruise? Or can I contact someone after I've stuffed myself with food?? (about 10pm). Slowest skyline? Oh, thought you were talking bout me... Thanks. adrian
  15. Can someone tell me again why the car's fuel pressure drops or lags so badly on acceleration? Tah
  16. Higher idle = higher fuel consumption?? Any other implications fr increasing the idle?
  17. I've had the stock BOV before (vent back to turb) and the car still had the same problem. I think its a fuel pump thing... I've got a microtech, and that suppose to have fixed this stalling problem. Not quite.... Sending the ECU back for check at the moment. WIll keep you up to date. Cant believe so many ppl have this problem! Cant really enjoy the car this way..too dangerous. Just imagine taking a corner, dropping it from 4 to 2nd gear. The car then stalls and the steering wheel locks up (power steering shuts down when car is dead). Result - oversteer and down the cliff *shudder*.
  18. i was charged $3100 for plate and compliance work (even reinstall back, if car not too modified) last May.
  19. Guys, this might sound stupid (sounds like it) but how do you access the fuel pump and the earth wire (R33 GTST). Also, where can i get a fuel pressure gauge/tester, to see if pressure is actually dropping when I'm taking off from first gear?? To date, possible causes are 1- Fuel pump 2- AAC valve (whats that?) 3- BOV 4- Computer?? I know my problem is not 3 & 4... working on 1 & 2 if I know how to. Thanks all
  20. Well, thanks for the feedback guys. Got my Boost Ctrl installed now and am planning to drag a moded 180sx (FMC, B Ctrl, injectors etc) and a 200sx (airpod & exhaust) next week. Wish me luck!!
  21. i think when it comes down to drags, given exact mod on both cars (say...s14 vs R33), it looks like the s14 will win. But then, I like the look of the R33! Thank god I got myself the R33 and not an s14! Better start working on my launches....
  22. I agree, with the amount of $$ I'd spent on my skyline, I could have just bought an S13 and used the leftover $ to max out the stock turbo...sigh. Although, the R33 looks alot phat-ter compared to the old looks of S13! How about WrX? Anyone had much experience dragging these 4wds?! Cant imagine it being too easy...
  23. Hey, I have the same problem as well! My other problem is during take off from the lights. I have to ease into it, otherwise my car stalls (the rpms falls dramatically as I release the clutch). As a result, I usually have to rev the car to about 2000 rpm and slowly release the clutch. Any sudden release results in car stalling. Any ideas guys?? And no, its got nothing to do with my manual driving skills..i can drive!
  24. Hi all, I've been hearing alot about how modified R33's get smoked by the silvias and 200sx (semi modified) due to their better "power to weight" ratio. For example, this s14 owner that I know has only got full exhaust and air pod, and says that he's eaten many R33 Gts-t at the lights.. Tell me this is not true!!! Has anyone taken out the SR20DET using a semi-mod R33? CBB
  25. Drift course sounds like a great idea! JMS should organise courses that coaches drifting. Looking in the long term, if drifting (as a sport) picks up, its advantageous to JMS as well- more mods, repairs, drfting schools. What do you think Terry? If youre worried about the risk, people can sign waivers like the ones used in Go kart places.... I'm sure you can also charge people for your efforts in coaching. Of course, not too much as the aim is to encourage drift as a sport... If it works in Jap, why not here...
