  1. -----------Hey Angry, I ended up removing the Lifters and then manually bleeding my original Lifters to install, it worked but then this happened -_- (see below update)
  2. I bet you guys never thought you'd hear from me again However, as I've said somewhere on this thread, you can't get rid of me that easy So, a lot has happened but at the same time, not much has happened. So, we did complete the head-swap, HOWEVER, little did I know, this was the start of a nightmare for me So... Head swap was done but when the car had it's first start it was making a very bad noise. I feared the worst (Bottom end damage), however luckily it wasn't. For weeks, we were trying to figure out what this noise was. We checked timing, all sensors, everything! But to no avail So, I ended up towing my car to PZP. $987 later and we found out the reason for this is because the lifters had not been bled properly I got the car back from PZP last week, however there is still the slightest lifter noise occurring. PZP had advised me the car needed to be driven for 2 weeks to try and get oil up into the lifters and then the sound should go away. So, I did just that! I took it for a nice drive on Saturday However, this noise got louder So, I think I am going to take the car back to PZP on Saturday to advise them of this. When I got the car back, PZP advised if the noise does not go away, the next step is taking the head off.. At this point I'm thinking an engine swap will be a cheaper option than what re-taking the head off will cost But at the same time, I don't want to buy another engine and then have more issues, so I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place Opinions would be great! Until next update - J
  3. Hello loyal readers! So, AWESOME news, my Water Pump arrived this morning! Courtesy of Kudos Motorsports _________________________________________________________________________ _________________________________________________________________________ This weekend will go ahead! I am dedicating Saturday and Sunday to this job, so hopefully come Sunday The Black Pearl will finally be running again Starting @ 9am Saturday, on my team I have a qualified mechanic and a good mate who has recently just done this exact same job with his dad (Also a qualified mechanic), So I know this job is in good hands I will be taking footage via Go Pro and will upload these right here for you Until then! for reading this far
  4. Hey guys, update time again So today I bought the last piece's of the puzzle that I need for my head rebuild The Black Pearl will hopefully be done this weekend! That is if we don't run into an issues and if my Water Pump arrives I ordered it last week and still have not received it So in this update we have: - Exhaust Manifold Studs w Washers and Brass Nuts to hold em in place _________________________________________________________________ - Timing Belt Oil Seal Kit + Timing Belt Tensioner's _________________________________________________________________ - Permaseal Turbo Gasket Kit _________________________________________________________________ - 10l of Penrite Radiator Coolant _________________________________________________________________ - Penrite 10w40 10|Tenths Racing Oil + Filter _________________________________________________________________ I'm officially ready for this weekend! I hope my Water Pump arrives tomorrow or Friday Either way I will let you guys know what happens! Until then
  5. Hey guys, It's my 100th post! Annnnnnnnnnnnnd.... It's UPDATE TIME again! Picked up my Permaseal MLSR Head Gasket today It's 1.3mm thick, I wanted 1.2mm (as that's stock Nissan thickness), however Permaseal only started at 1.3mm. Spoke with HeadTorque and they advised it would be ok to run 1.3mm One of the main reasons I went with Permseal, aside from quality, is that it comes with an additional Stopper Layer which is good for high boost cars. Given my power-goal, that was a no brainer Next week I will be ordering a Genuine Nissan Water Pump from Kudos Motorsports - http://www.kudosmotorsports.com/catalog/genuine-nissan-pitwork-water-pump-nissan-skyline-r33-gtr-gts25t-r34-gtr-rb25det-rb26dett-p-22.html So that will be the next update, Until then guys!
  6. Oh really? Why wouldn't you do it again? I'll look into that! I do have my heart set on Deatschwerks though I haven't actually looked that far yet haha, gotta get my car running first I think I'll research the pro's and con's of both when it comes to it
  7. Yeah man, I can't wait to just drive the thing! My Pulsar is a good daily but it doesn't beat the feeling of boost The whole reason this is happening is because of low-compression, but I am replacing all the parts with good quality stuff because - Do it once, do it right In saying that though, I have juts received my tax return, So I am going to be buying (If 6Boost get back to me ) a 6Boost Low-Mount Twin-Scroll Manifold I was going to run a Low-Mount, Twin-Scroll Precision Turbo on it, however apparently they have issues with the VBand not clamping correctly, causing a slight exhaust leak etc So I think I might just be boring and run a Low-Mount, Twin-Scroll Garrett GTX3076R w .64 Rear Housing My goal is only 400rwhp, I'll keep that power figure whilst I build my actual engine Need injectors too, I am looking @ some 740cc Deatschwerks - http://www.deatschwerks.com/products/fuel-injectors/sport-compact/nissan/skyline/rb25det/1993-98-rb25det/01j-00-0740-6-detail Oh, and an FPR (Fuel Pressure Regulator)
  8. So.. it's that time again, update time! Just picked up my ARP Head Stud's from Precision International in Malaga Simple photo, but you get the idea Tune in next week for the pickup of my Head Gasket, Until then people!
  9. Guess who's back!? I am! You guy's thought you could get rid of me, didn't you? It's not that easy! All is good with my job, so the car journey continues! I picked up my head about 30 minutes ago from HeadTorque: Gerry @ HeadTorque did an amazing job! Would highly recommend him to any one in WA needing head work! Really nice, up front and honest guy, helped me from start to finish and always kept me in the loop and answered my question, price was good too! So far I have the dead-line set for 1\8\15 Next week I will be picking up some ARP Head Studs so stay tuned for that Man it feels good to get the ball rolling with this again Until next week guys and girls
  10. Hey guys! Not much on the update front unfortunately! Hopefully come July 12th I can start updating again as I find out about my job If I get the good news, I am going to get the Head finished and buy the Head Studs and Head Gasket Then videos will ensue of the (Pardon the pun) Head Job I am also really contemplating throwing in some Tomei PonCams! Hmmm
  11. Wow.. Awesome topic! I am quite jealous of the photos.. Here in my part of Aus (WA) there aren't many awesome environments to snap a few photos Loving the colour man Keep it up!
  12. Oh.. Neville W right? Yeah I remember man I run the club Oh awesome, should be holding a cruise soon so will be good to see how your car goes after the tune
  13. Thanks Neville! Good to see another happy reader Yeah, shouldn't be too much longer till the Head gets it's work done and then my car will be driveable again! I noticed you are in Perth? Ever heard of "Nissan or Nothing Car Club"?
  14. I'm in WA, so I can't even get a quote from this guy See, this sort of stuff I don't know as I don't specialise in head work, but this sort of stuff makes me nervous! I just like stuff to be done all good with no issues
  15. Hmm, that's weird but I guess everywhere is going to have a different labour rate I spoke to a couple of people over here (namely mechanics) and they seemed to think this was a fair price. Are you in WA?
  16. Yeah, that's why I wasn't complaining It seems like a fair price for the job involved I'd rather pay the amount, have it done once and have it done right
  17. Update time! I got my quote from HeadTorque yesterday and although the price seems a bit dear, I am confident this is still a fair price They are going to: - Service The Head - Pressure Test It - Sonic Clean And Bleed The Lifters - Face It - Supply And Fit Brand New Exhaust Studs - Supply And Fit 24 Valve Stem Seals - Check Valve Springs All for the price of - $1,100 But as fate should have it, this will not be getting done till next month! I am currently casual at my job and have my review next month as I'm waiting to go full time. I don't want to spend big money now and then be struggling to survive later, should I not get extended I will however still be buying the ARP Head Studs soon, so check back for those updates!
  18. mate! My power goal for this engine is 400rwhp, I really want to see those numbers on the dyno Then I'll be happy! Although 1/4 times are what really counts Then I am going to leave it at 400hp and a weekender, whilst I start my engine build, RB25/34 Although I am torn between using my current head (The broken one on my car, which will be switched out with the new head) or buying a NEO Head for this, I just don't know whether the slight increase in flow will be worth it with the NEO as opposed to just staying with my head.
  19. Not really an update as such Just something someone did for me and I thought it was cool! I will be buying ARP Head Studs next week though! Then all I need is the Head Gasket (Probably a Permaseal Metal Head Gasket) and the Head refurbished Then she's all ready to go on! Keep an eye out as I'll also be documenting the removal and refit of the Head via Youtube I will post the links here for all who wish to see it
  20. You have now also made me want it! So / Even though it probably won't go with my M-Spec Kit though
  21. This one? It looks really nice! I'm actually quite keen on it now too However I don't think it would go with my M-Spec Kit
  22. Yeah exactly! I don't know why people switch em out I personally like em!
