  1. problem with all opinions of Adelaide is that Northeners will bag the South and vice versa... (same as most states I assume) I have live both and am very, very happy to live far south of Adelaide. Christies/Noarlunga is the south version of Salisbury/Elizabeth... take your pick. I don't think any honest person would disagree that north of Adelaide crime is more common across the board also so take that into account when asking about safety. Saying that though I have to agree that if you want to live closer to the city and be closer to the car import industry then north is for you 100%. I'll never live north as I value my equity near the beach and lower crime rate. Oh and not being a target of all police is nice too... in my 17 years of driving i have found that up north police are far more likely to pull you over for a random stop in an import than down south (and with my old R33 it was weekly) (sorry to ramble)
  2. My old Skyline... oh how i miss it If the pic didn't attach so damn big I would add another shot from the back and an interior one...
  3. thanks mate... i was only going to dedicate an hour trawling on the net today but 3 hours/6 pack later i'm still going oh and I know what you mean about the pain of importing... I gave up trying to import a c-west carbon fibre bonnet in 2003 and got a knock off fibre glass bonnet wrapped in carbon fibre. It faded after 1 year but 3 coats of clear gloss and it looked amazing (even though it was a knock off)
  4. simple answer to that mate = price and a completely stock car. Oh and don't worry as i appreciate all opinions. Granted i've only been looking with an intent to buy for just over a month but this is the colour I want and it is completely stock. I have been looking at M35's with no intention to buy for over a year now to keep in touch with pricing. I agree that finding one with the odd few mods done already would be a good leg up but unless the car is perfect I'm not willing to pay upward of $15k for it (even though my budget is much more). It's just my preference to start with a blank canvas unless a prefect example with little to no mods pops up for less than $15k. I did it with my R33 (imported completely stock to save $$$) and I spent 6 years building it. I'm not saying that random guy (a) with a M35 of the right colour and factory options with very minimal mods isn't worth $15k+ to him... but it's not worth that to me. I'll be looking at another M35 in about a week as it comes in stock with a dealer in Adelaide so i'll be making comparisons. oh and to give you an idea of immediate mods which I like to do asap and ones my budget allows for. Wheels/coilovers Audio (I'm a minimalist with audio) Exhaust (all the way through) Slotted brakes (yet to confirm if I'll do this.. most likely) Depending on how much I buy the Stagea for will depend on how much I have left over after those initial mods plus I will sell my current car and put that cash into the kitty which i am hoping to do minimal power upgrades. If its anything like the R33 then I assume fuel pump, ECU, FMIC etc. I have yet to look into the best order for upping boost levels safely and its been a long time in between drinks for me. Body styling will come after the above but I agree that the factory aero kits looks much nicer than the stock. decisions, decisions...
  5. yeah i figured it would leave holes etc... My plan would be to colour-code the thing anyway as its totally stock with grey trim all round. I'm still looking into replacement parts for bumper, skirts etc. I don't mind a bit of a project and tbh I will totally enjoy it after a 6 year absence from it.
  6. Cheers Duncan, That never crossed my mind tbh and makes sense. I'm an old man and a C34 just wouldnt suit me
  7. Gday guys, Just a quickie. I went and looked at a potential purchase 250RS M35 yesterday and it had a mid-size antenna on the front left corner of the front bumper. The dealer selling it assumed it had something to do with the sat-nav or reversing camera (i assumed sat-nav) Can anyone confirm or shed some light? I'm seriously considering buying the car but this was the only grey area I came across before I get the car fully checked over with my mechanic. If all goes well and nothing comes up which blocks the sale I'll throw pics up if/when I make a purchase. Cheers lads.
  8. Thanks mate i would really appreciate it. I'll keep an eye on my inbox
  9. cheers folks, I'll keep your car in mind as I start looking in the xmas holidays for something I want.
  10. yeah it was Silver... didn't get a good look as i was going in the opposite direction.
  11. No Dramas mate... I did see a M35 round the corner from my place at Seaford the other day so on the xmas break i may see if i can catch the bloke one day.
  12. I'm not keen on driving others cars but I wouldn't say no to a quick casual spin so I can get a closer look at one. I have been up north to a few yards but i live too far away to spend the time i'd like for a decent look.
  13. Yeah i'm looking for some variation of the 250tRS. The Axis versions look nice but i'm not one for leather and woodgrain or the luxury exterior. I Imported my old car but am not too keen on going through that again. At the end of the day i'll start off with wheels and ride height but i know mild power mods will come along too. Nothing drastic and i dont plan on touching internals.. just supporting mods to allow a moderate boost increase to enhance my enjoyment. oh and yes slotted brakes are always on the shopping list. The cheaper i can pick up a fairly stock car for the less i have to save to get it to where i'd like it to be.
  14. Cheers folks, It shall be a DET and i have much smaller plans for it than the R33. I am a patient man so i'm happy to search and do much homework to make sure i'm happy with my choice
  15. Gday folks, I was a member of SAU a very long time ago (2004 from memory) a couple of years after my first journey into the Skyline fun fun fun... After selling my pride and joy and years of house building and money making i'm returning to the import life with an M35 Stagea. I'm yet to find one to my liking and to be honest i'm still in the early stages of working out exactly what I want (I imported my old R33 stock as a rock in 2002 with 60,000kms and over 6 years I built it into quite the attention grabber here in South Australia) So I just thought i'd say g'day so i'm not just an nameless lurker like I have been for the past few weeks. Cheers.
