  1. as far as cash goes i've pretty much got everything either in my spare room or ordered for my M35 SS2 Hypergear highflow to go on and be tuned. You are looking at most of what people mentioned In my case i have either fitted to the car or ready to be fit the following.... FMIC, exhaust w/dump, Scottys intake, trans cooler, EMU w/loom, profec B, 725cc injectors, fuel pump (i'm probably missing a few things here like modded acuator and cooling mod) To give you a rough idea thats about $4000 worth of items give or take. Add about another $2500-3000 to get it all fitted and tuned (average quotes i saw in Adelaide) Thats just to hopefully accommodate the turbo. Then people will obviosuly recommend things like coilovers, shift kit, bigger brakes and some sort of bracing (i already have some of this sorted on the M35 up front) Edging up towards $10k without really breaking a sweat to be honest... Cheers
  2. Yeah i agree with Josh... You have truely gone about this backwards (i know you had no choice due to the turbo failure) In a perfect world you add supporting mods and work torwards whatever turbo you are choosing to fit but in your case you are trying to make the turbo happy...
  3. I'll eventually have my results up from my M35 build but it will be a couple of months off yet. I'm going the Emanage/ss2 hypergear + supporting mods route so during my month off in November hopefully I can provide results. I live really close to R&D so hopefully they can help with some of my tuning decisions. Once sorted i'll shop for a bit more bracing and probably fit some decent brakes. I'm sure you are aware that the jap screen can be converted to english (do a forum search) so it's not entirely useless. Also a forum member fabed up a 3 gauge holder mould to replace the screen all together... Food for thought. Cheers
  4. I haven't used them so i cannot comment but i too am looking for someone in the coming months to do a heap of work on my M35 Stagea. At this stage i am very tempted to drive interstate as there are tried and tested workshops who have worked on M35's. R&D Mechanical in Seaford is another option to check out tho mate. I have not used them either but i believe their tow car was a C34 Stagea... Cheers
  5. I will certainly be doing this that's for sure. That's a good question... I'm hoping for anything over 240-250kw's.
  6. So when you say cooling mod you are referreing to transmission cooler. I will take your advice Cheers
  7. Yes i have considered this and mentioned it to Scotty. The turbo that was rebuilt by Stao didn't have an actuator with it but i am still running a stock trubo on my car right now so i was going to obviously use that when the turbo is taken off. I can't afford to have the car off the road for weeks at a time as it's my daily. sato was nice enough to include some things in with the trubo to "pre-load" the stock actuator i think... this requires more reseach on my part and i'm not 100% sure what this entails. I assume it's to do with holding boost at higher revs but i'll read up about it more. I did see a trans cooler mentioned and wondered about it. My car will never see the 400m strip or track (i live miles away from both) but if its required for the odd squirt on the open southern roads i'll add that to my list. Cheers
  8. Gday folks, Just thought I’d double check in case I have missed something in my research through the forums when preparing for my next step of mods on my M35. At the moment the car has full 3 inch stainless exhaust/high flow cat/Dump pipe, HDI intercooler, BC coilovers, Transgo shift kit, Turbosmart BoV. I have in my spare room a Greddy emanage ultimate/loom, Greddy profect B boost controller and SS2 Hypergear turbo. I will be annoying Scotty for 1000cc injectors + fuel pump and a custom made intake. From a boost/power increase point of view is there anything major I have missed before I stop acquiring parts and start fitting this gear? Are there any other major weak links I have not addressed? My intention is to get onto Scotty in a couple of weeks for the last few bits I think I need and then once they are also sitting in my spare room (I don’t really care how long it takes) i'll start fitting all this stuff to my car. I'll eventually address brakes and perhaps add more bracing to make it handle a bit better but power is my current plan. Cheers guys. Obviously in the coming months as all this gets completed I’ll post results.
  9. i could go one further and think "why would you even buy another colour"
  10. it's cool cause obviously i never get to see my dark blue M35 from the outside in motion
  11. Dark Blue M35 driving down Waymouth Street Adelaide this morning at about 8:20am.
  12. Mine had 88k on the auction sheet but i now fitted a Nismo dash which has18k on the clock... I'd like this car to last many happy years also.
  13. I'm not totally against a nice drive to Melboure with the missus for a holiday. Perhaps when i have all the bits ready in the coming weeks i might look at this as an options. I have almost 3 months leave accumulated at work that i'm looking for a reason to dip into. Cheers
  14. If you could please Scotty i'd appreciate it. I was going to sourse one of those nismo bars (i think they are nismo) that most people seem to go for but it's not a high priority. I've talked to a whole heap of workshop south of Adelaide and only found 2 that will tune an EMU. Heinrich Performance in Lonsdale and another mob near Castle Plaza (i think they are called Turbotune). I've not had one of my cars on a dyno for the best part of 7 years but back in the day i use to use Boostworks but the bloke has moved up north which would be an hour and a half trip just for me to get there now. I'm going to have a proper chat to the lads at Heinrich first and hopefully get an idea of thier work plus quotes once Stao has finished rebuilding the turbo.
  15. After tuning i'll see where the car is at and if i'm happy i'll start with cosmetics. Mainly the front bumper as mine came with the factory parking aid which is terrible. I'll perhaps check Import Monster for a replacement stockish one. I'm also still thinking about replacing the drivers seat but thats my last priority at this stage...
  16. The car is running stock ECU at present but when i fit the turbo in the coming weeks i have a Greddy Emanage Ultimate and Greddy Profec B being fitted at the same time. I will also be picking up a fuel pump and injectors before having the car tuned. cheers
  17. I'll give that a shot. Cheers
  18. Turbosmart suggest trying a softer spring which is similar to what i have read in another thread... Not sure thats gonna do much to fix or eliminate or if this is gonna compromise the ability to hold steady boost... At least it's a cheap thing to test. I'm more worried that it's doing some kind of long term damage Cheers folks
  19. I'm in tiptronic mode 90% of the time i push the Stagea hard (it just makes sense) so perhaps i'm letting off too slow. I'll have a play around when i get the chance. As for room for a bypass i'm not sure. I'll have a look. I wondered if the spring rate was a bit firm or not firm enough as i assumed the air being vented was causing the Bov to shut or stutter instead of just cleanly venting... perhaps i'll leave it in the hands of the bloke that ends up tuning it once i get it on the dyno.
  20. Thanks Scotty. I'll give Turbosmart a call and see what they can suggest. I did end up reading a bit about this in the M35 BoV thread so i'll read a bit more. Cheers
  21. Gday folks, I rarely get the chance to boost my M35 due to where i live and the roads i drive frequently but on the weekend i had a chance to give it a bit and noticed that after coming off high / full boost at say... 120kmph+ the car stutters as i assume the bov attempts to vent excess pressure. Would i be right to assume this may be due to the spring rate in my Turbosmart Kompact bov? I'm not 100% sure as i can come off high/full boost at lower speeds (say 80-90kmph which is all the roads around me generally allow) and it has no such problem. I can hear a slight stutter of air but it's fairly smooth. It appears as speeds get higher the stutter gets worse. Oh and i better mention that the car still runs stock boost. I'm doing searches now to try see if anyone has reported something similar in the past (i asume they have). I probably would have picked this up sooner but i don't drive the stagea much on a day to day basis due to how far away from work i live and i rely on public transport. Mods to my car are listed in my sig. I'll have the car on the dyno in not the too distant future as i've sent a turbo off to Hypergear to be highflowed. Just thought i'd get opinions. Cheers Beau
  22. I can't agree more... To add, i drove a White R33, super deep dish rims, C west Carbon bonnet, semi wide kit and a heap of other mods and while i was pulled over on an almost monthly schedual down south by the cops i was never once booked or sent to regency. I attributed this to the fact that i didn't drive like a moron, my car was super clean and if i was pulled over i was honest and had a nice chat to the copper. In almost every case the cop ended up just wanting to have a look at the car cause he thought it was eye catching. I am still keen to have a look at peoples cars and say gday but 9 times out of 10 meetings are north of the city, while i have always lived down Seaford way, and due to past efforts i just assume there will be at least one wanker who will ruin it all by thinking he has something to prove and waste my $50 of 98 premium
  23. I'm interested in this also. I have a spare stock M35 turbo to send off to Hypergear this week sometime and am trying to decide which option to go. I have an emanage ultimate and Greddy Profec sitting next to the turbo that will be fitted at the same time so i'm leaning towards buying injectors and bigger fuel pump as they will peak out around the 200kw mark. Stao from Hypergear recommends either the G2 highflow (rated up to 240kw on 98 pump) assuming you plan to add injectors, pump, emanage etc. He also put the SS2 profile on the table as well which will produce 270kw but i'm still looking for dyno results as lag is my concern also. I'm coming from a 240kw R33 so i'm looking for something similar (auto aside) from my M35. At this stage the G2 is looking the goods for me.
