Would like to come down. My car may not be ready by then. And I have no Skyline yarns to tell...yet! But if SAUVIC membership and CAMS will be discussed I would like to hear about it. Q. I have the skylinesaustralia membership .pdf I got from www.saunsw.com - does that membership give the same as what SAUVic will be offering? Q. Will the SAUVic club have a simmilar "RULES and CONSTITUTION" or use the NSW already existing rules?

My GTR was "originaly" KH2 Gun Metal. It's had a respray >> now silver. The underbonnet colour is black. See pic.

Pod filters... I will be purchasing them on the weekend. Hope they don't chuck any on because those Apexi filters are expensive x2! S-Seven: Are you teling me it goes to Brissy and then on a truck or something, or Brissy then Melbourne on the same ship? I was under the impression that it would come straight to the dock in Melbourne via what route I dont care. $50 for car to be drove or towed to your door? I have already rang Vic Roads and it's $37.50 first day and $1 every day after for a non roadworthy / unregistered pass to drive you import or whatever untill it's ready to be registered (1 month max) I was thinking of doing all the driving myself...

Just got my plates delivered today. XXXGTR I was never sure about personal plates (always 50/50) and have read a few recent threads about opinions on this. But it is my first GTR and thought...hey it's a GTR. Also, my ride is not a stock example. I think my choice is good and it took a while and many calls to Vic Roads to finaly decide. What do you think? Woman would like me to sell them (did not tell her about it... normally when the word Skyline comes out of my mouth she tunes out pretty fast so thought why bother about the plates) as she thinks it looks GAY and would attract to much attention from the jacks? Sorry to jump in, I have PM a few people to get info from FAST for my GTR with no reply. Could one on you please run my vin. no. through FAST because I'm sure my car has had a respray and would like to know what colour it was when it came out of the factory. I'm assuming black. So, either way they will make it hard to get down and babysit car. It's just another side effect of importing a car? It's not like there are many risks involved in importing a car I tell you what... on top of waiting 11 weeks from the first time I expressed interest for my GTR...DOTARS issues...insurance issues...engine condition issued...tuning issues...power to weight issues...general nervs about my first (and probably last or not for a long time) attempt at importing from Japan, warfies/customs don't really concern me anymore. I'm sure it's just the begining of a hole lotta wasted CASH and trouble...oh, and I get a GTR:)

Is there any way a person can stop the warfies thrashing your car around? My car is scheduled for shipping from Japan on 30th July to arrive around 15th August (using the RORO method) Q. Can I go down to the docks and meet the car getting unloaded? Then hang around untill customs are done checking it? Then take it straight to compliance place? (I have heard that you can get an special permit to drive the car (from VICROADS unregistered/and un-complied) to workshop. This should keep the guys at the docks from taking the car on any sort of joy ride or stealing shitt?

Hyper-Tech done work on my brother in-laws MYO WRX. They were not cheap and did stuff up 2 x AFM and then charged him for each one they broke, he did come to a compromise with the manager and sorted the AFM problem by installing a MOTECH ECU (not at Hyper-Tech) after all that! I was not aware that they no longer deal with the public. Anyway, my local garage have just quoted me for the compression test anyway ($50) I have been going to him for years (2 doors from my house) and trust him 100% - He mainly deals with Hot Rods not Hot JAP's and has said he will look at it for me and if he's not comfortable with tuning it, will advise me so. I think I will leave it at that for now until it's actually in my hands so I can see what ECU it's using ETC... Thanks for your help.

My thoughts on how deep your pockets are usually $1000+ When you say... how deep your pockets are. Are we talking $1000 - $1500+ just for a tune on a 2WD dyno? Do I get a full service with that? I have emailed racepace this afternoon and requested a ballpark figure for what I requested (compression test and mild tune) Yet to receive a reply... I have been advised that I could get this done at Hyper-Tech for about $600 - $700 on a 4WD dyno. I have no doubt that Racepace are very good... but you make me nervious when you use the phrase "how deep your pockets are". I'm GREEN as they come and do not like throwing my cash around just because "It's that much" I've got a few nice bills coming up soon (Shipping, GST, Stamp Duty, Compliance, My usual shit and my woman is getting ancy about that rock!) I think I will also get a quote from Ice and Hyper-Tech. Just to see how deep my pockets need to be to go to Racepace.
