  1. Anyone else run a Link ECU?
  2. Dyno is porbably not calibrated for losses, when I got mine tuned the guy showed 108kw and anything over 150kw was a 12 second drag car.
  3. Someone with an R32 must know this stuff?????
  4. Cmon guys, I'm sure I'm running it too rich!
  5. My link computer has different zones for duty cycle and timing that the computer modifies on manifold pressure and revs. I don't run an o2 sensor but I think the guy that tunes it plugs in which would explain why he stuffs it up all the time. Can someone send me what duty cycle they run for 1000,2000,3000,4000,5000,6000,7000 rpm and for -20 -10 -5 0 5 10 14.5psi for each of these rpm? (Particularly if you go by the name Sydneykid )
  6. good, take an s15 for a test drive, put the side into a power pole (passenger side of course) and buy the wreck.
  7. Has anyone ever mounted the FJ20 back for better weight distribution? What gearbox do you use? What do you do with the mounts? How much heavier is the RB20 than the SR20? 18kg is still a fair amount and is backed by a six speed box. Its also more common and has newer tech so if you're tight like me it would have to be the cheapest way to go. (Not necessarily the strongest or most potential)
  8. Well thats what I figured it must be. Each zone is based on rpm and manifold pressure and then you program it to run each zone. As it reads as a % figure I thought it might have been air fuel ratio which it obviously wasn't.
  9. Hey, just found my gear ratios. Worked out I have a theoretical top speed of 274kmh. I think I need shorter 1,2,3 and a taller 5th (for economy)
  10. That picture didn't work as well as I hoped
  11. My HR30 belts come from the centre and go across to the sides. That is where the mounting points were, definitely not on the sides. Heres a crude diagram of how they go | /_ _ | | |
  12. A while back I was pissing and moaning that my car lacked grunt over 5500rpm and then it was real bad after 6200. Well after receiving my tuned car back from the mechanic I decided that seeing as it ran crap anyway I was going to set the zone fuel figure from 60-65% + 8% for acceleration up to run at 90% at 11-15psi boost. Well pull my pants down, spank my arse and call me charlie. The car ran to 7500 rpm in 1st and second gears. So I advanced the timing up to 20+ degrees and it went even quicker. It was pulling 0-100 in 6 seconds flat but I haven't measured it since because the car now literally our runs the speedo so I can't time it. I gave it a boot on a private test track and I pulled 175 (give or take for speedo error) in 3rd up around the 7200 mark and it wasn't slowing down up top. My diff is way too tall. Needless to say fuel economy is now diabolical and I can't run it on regular unleaded anymore. I also can't floor it in second gear around corner because the rear just lights up. I can now floor it from rest and when the boost spools up the tyres will chirp on concrete and coarse bitumen especially if its not even (I am running 225's on the back, cheap as tyres though) Glad I didn't buy a fuel pump. So the lesson is, if you have a programmable richen the bugger up to the max injector capacity, advance the timing and let the fun begin..
  13. Id love to do the SR20 conversion. Mount it way back so its like a front/mid mount engine and it weighs nothing compared to the RB being all alloy (as far as I know). It would make the car 50kg lighter and turn in and braking would be fantastic. I would only have to worry about 4 coil packs crapping themselves (This is purely speculation that has no scientific merit which is by definition, speculation)
  14. So now that I replaced my diff oil with penrite something I did it all for nothing? It has to at least assist getting the thing moving in the wet where relatively low amounts of power are required to get 1 wheel spinning, doesn't it?
  15. Email me at [email protected] or PM me or phone on 0403015614
  16. how much for the fuel pump email [email protected]
  17. Have you got the standard fuel pump? Email [email protected]
  18. you will have a leak. I had one from the charcoal cannister. It will be in the inlet manifold. Check every hose that it is connected. (since then I am running 13psi without beeding at all)
  19. have you got the original fuel pump?
  20. Hmm, thanks for that, it is looking like my constipated piggy bank is going to have to take a laxative.
  21. 360fwhp (that is flywheel hp) is what I want, not rwhp. Is yours a manual or auto?
  22. I can get an R33 GTST fuel pump from Jay.r33 for my Hr30/RB20det which prolly has the original fuel pump. (Or if not it is off an r32) What is the max power this can flow? I know I am an extreme tight arse but I only want to run 16psi or around 360fwhp as I can't afford the fuel bill to go any higher and its good enough for me to get my jollies.
  23. I don't want to spend that much on a fuel pump so how low will you go on it? email [email protected]
