  1. Good to see you hard at work Bill ;-) Knowing my luck, that's probably it, or someone had a truckie complex or something.
  2. This confuses me rather than annoys, but : Every Time I put the 'line into reverse, there is a loud 'beeping' coming from the dash area. At first, i thought it was a parking radar or similar, but no-matter how close I reverse to a wall, the beeping is constant. (This is only audible inside the car, but is at the same rate as a truck reverse beeping) Grr!!!

If it'll help, I may take a couple, and sell them later - to ppls that don't read the forums :-D
  4. Is there anyone in the Bathurst area with a R32 or R31 ? I'm hoping to get a couple of decent 'Welcome to bathurst - Sau etc' pics done with R31,32,33,34 on the start line at bathurst - just as a whim :-) We have the 33 and 34 :-) but other peeps could come over to get some pics done, if they wanted Was a silly thought we had in the pub a while ago :headspin:
  5. Ok. I've driven in the UK for most of my life, and have a couple of small points to add. UK roads may be small, but they are not downright dangerous, as some NSW roads seem to me. In both the mrs' car, and my line, I have been scared witless by the stupid moves that some younger (and older drivers) do on the roads out here. I'm now based in Bathurst, which sometimes seems to bring out the worst in some people ;-) UK insurnace will *hammer* L/P platers. This is partially due to the level of P-platers not being insured. A good example is a L/P plater being insured on a 1L n/a car in the UK is 1000-1600 UKP ... which is $2400-4000 AUD !!!!!!!!! With some companies, that's not fully comp either!!!! (3rd party, fire and theft - no CTP in the uk, only the one ins) You can get round it by being on the parents insurnace, but when you go to get your own ins a few years later, it's usually 1000 UK or more for a POS car, not a 'line. When I got here, I fell over at how cheap insurance was! I got a line, (The car I always wanted, but couldn't afford it in the UK) - and because my previous company had not sent my NCB details across, had to be insured with 0 ncb's, and that was about 2K AUD....! The first time I saw a P plater with a 'line, i fell over, I had no idea how! I *fully* support a 'class' on car licences, and limits, similar to the bikes, as it seems to work. (in the UK, the first 2 years the limits were introduced, the accidents due to new drivers dropped by over 50%) Being allowed full access to a high powered car while I was younger would have quite simply killed me - Fact. in the UK, a 2-2.5L Fiat is considered quick, and I did have some *wow* moments in that, but exceptions for work vehicles should be considered IMHO, as they are needed for time to time, and also needed as part of your job. My 2c for the mo. - Zebbie.
  6. Excellent, thanks :-D Will get reading - that sort of level would be about right for me
  7. Thanks for the comeback SydKid, I'll pop in to them tomorrow and see if they did do one. The two graphs were all they gave me. If I was looking to up the overall power etc, would I be looking at changing the ECU & Retuning? or would it be a lot more involved? (I'd love to get to the 350 *ish* HP, but i have no idea if that's a realistic goal with the current setup. ) If so, what sort of ECU would be idea? Something like a Wolf3d? Tbh, I've got about 5-10K I could throw at the car if needed.
  8. Here's the plots : Plot & Torque Showing Plot & Mixture ?? Can anyone help with translating these plots into something I can readily understand, so I can look to improve this? Excuse me if I sound like a complete noob, I am
  9. The runs were done at 13psi, and looking at the limited paperwork I have, They fitted a 'front exhaust pipe, exchange exhaust system, and a 3" cat convertor' Not much more detail than that, i'm afraid. (Will get the scan(s) done this morning)
  10. ok... done the dyno, am feeling a little dissapointed, as was expecting more..... Max 227.8 HP :-( I'll scan the plots in tomorrow, and hopefully SydKid etc could decipher it for me ;-) The good news is that the power curve is pretty linear, (excluding end drop off ) It does look like Sydkid was right one one side, about top end revs on the ECU lacking, but.. it was running a little lean according to them.... Will get the scans done tomorrow... I could be missing something here, but it looks pretty good for a start... (if on the low side)
  11. That's exactly what's happening on thursday :headspin: Dyno incoming :-D You would have thought in Bathurst, that there would be loads of decent mechanics/workshops etc..... Had hells own trouble finding decent ppl
  12. Well, the mines was added after import, at the same time as the turbo, intercooler etc... But god knows about the tuning.... (I always run on 98 octane, you can *really* feel the diff if i've had to put 95 in... )
  13. Well, the lines was added after import, at the same time as the turbo, intercooler etc...
  14. After a bit of digging, and some great help from JustJap, (actually remembered my line :-D ) It's a T3/T4 Hybrid, with enlarged/bored out sections (Front and back), to increase flow. (Steel rather than ceramic) He wasn't sure of exactly what size, and i'm not pulling it out ;-) Hope that helps
  15. Heya all, i've not had my Gtst long, and i'll be testing it next week, and wanted to get some idea of the figures i'd *expect* to see, within reason.... Afaik, it's not been tuned/touched etc since JustJap originally did the mods in Jan 2003 I'm still very much learning about 'lines - any recommended mods to improve from this point? It's a '96 S2 Gtst with the following mods: Mines Ecu (used) T04 (recon) Nismo Fuel Reg 3" Cat Converter What I can guess as 'normal' turbo ducting etc.. (Pics : http://212.42.1.197/Zeb/line/bonnet1.jpg - http://212.42.1.197/Zeb/line/bonnet2.jpg - http://212.42.1.197/Zeb/line/line.jpg ) Tia - Zeb
  16. Barring wet/greasy conditions, i'm running falken's - the only time i loose grip is near max leaving 1/2, and then 3rd, 4th when it's a tad wet. - although the tires will need changing soon, but they've not been ripped at all. I'm a pretty new 'line driver, and getting used to the Rwd has been a bitch after many years of BM's and Saab's. (Esp 90Deg Corners under power!) I have no idea of my output - '96 St, T04, Mines, Pod, High Flow Cat, Adjustable Front Shocks, stock rears - etc, etc...
  17. Spotted : Bright Yellow line, just coming out of Syd this morning, to busy staring at it to read the plate ;-) (Lovley exhaust note - Must have been a GTR, but was drooling) (I drove down from Bathurst this morning, so came across plenty of lines, and any that I didn't wave to, I was inspecting ;-) ) (If anyone saw me on the way, I was in a '96 Silver GTST, Reg: ZebHax - http://212.42.1.197/Zeb/line/line.jpg)
  18. Hiya, The turbo seems perfectly ok accelerating 1st/2/3 at revs, but for example i'm doing 100K's and go to overtake up a long hill (In 5th) , I hit about 110-120K's and the car *stutters*, with what sounds like the turbo dumping all pressure, and the boost reading bounces all over the place. If i back off on the accelerator, it will immediatley settle down. Thoughts? 1996 GTST T04 Turbo (Set to 13psi, manual setting) Mines ECU Nismo Fuel Reg
  19. My thanks go out to all of you that responded, I should be picking up a '96 line, which is in immaculate condition :-) It was deffo worth spending to the limit of my budget to get the car, as i will basicly have to do nothing to it, apart from enjoy it! My form's filled in to join SAU :-D Thanks again, and will post good pics when i can, but here's a few : http://212.42.1.197/line/ - Zeb
  20. Of deffo - the Black 1996 'line R33 GTS-T they have on there would be so dammed tempting, if it was a manual....
  21. I hope you peeps can help me on getting my first 'line. I have a budget of 20-25k AUD *ish*, and am looking at buying one within a month's time. After looking about i've pretty much settled on: R33 1994/5 *Ish* GTST Reasonable body Kit (Ideally with modded cooling) Minimal rear spoiler (Not a GTR/monster wing) Reasonable mods (BOF, uprated brakes, Exhaust etc) 60-90K on the clock if possible Not fussed about the sound system, as i'll be putting in a media box etc As good mechanical condition as possible (I'm based in Bathurst, don't want to do too many Syd trips) Do you peeps think that's a reasonable budget for the above? - should I be looking at a newer, or older one? I'd love a R33 GTR, but that isn't going to happen :-( If I approached a dealer with cash rather than going credit, are they likley do do a better deal? ( aka bank transfer, not dollars in a bag ;-) ) Other questions - Exhausts - I know a lot of people go for noisy exhausts for 'lines, but i'd like one that doesn't drop the power available, but is relativley quiet, not waking everyone up with 5 blocks when started :-) Any ideas what to look at? I've had other reasonable cars before, such as BMW 3 Series', Saab 9000's etc - there are always things to look for when buying, like submarined seats, rust in specific places, odd knocks & noises to show up a lemon before buying - Is there anything to look for in a 'line before buying? Insurance - I'm recently from the UK, and now have a NSW drivers licence, but not really any record in Aus as far as no claims bonus' etc - ( I'm over 30 ) - Does anyone reccomend any specific insurers? Edit - Scratch the insurance - I've seen the short thread about it  I decided it's time to have a Skyline or so around bathurst that doesn't appear when there's racing or a show on ;-) That's the questions for the mo, TIA for any help I get. Regards, Zeb
