  1. If you're between a rock and a hard place, i've got a White R33 GTS-t (S2) but no gate action does have about 350rwhp though
  2. I know that I spend a LOT of my time reading and generally sitting in the shadows rather than post-whoring my way around a lot of threads creating useless input for the sake of getting my post count up. When I was new, there was no way that I would even dream of posting something unless I knew that I wouldn't get told to use the seach button. I'm not saying that I'm the perfect thread starter but when I do post, i've usually put a fair deal of thought into my thread and researched to make sure that i'm not repeating topics already covered. A lot of people could benefit by doing the same. I think, all in all, the forums are still a friendly place, with legitimate questions earning legitimate responses without the need for senseless dribble. We need a disclaimer on all new posts saying "by submitting this new post, you agree that you have extensively searched the forums and will honestly think that you and others will benefit from the knowledge hopefully gained through this thread" with a penalty for misuse being banishment from the forums for a set period of time. Sorta like WA's new hoon laws. You post a new dickhead type thread, banned for 24 hours, a 2nd new dickhead type thread, banned for a week, etc... (Exception being wasteland type post areas) My input from a "old skool" SDU member (who doesn't care about the distinction between new and old as long as we're all learning and benefitting) Dave
  3. :werd: Looking at $3K total (including dyno tuning) but so much better than anything else you can do to your car as a stage 1/2 before you step up to replacing turbo's, injectors, surge tanks, regulators, wastegates, etc etc....
  4. one other point to remember that no one has mentioned is repairs/maintenance. Turbo = $$, nothing further your honour. Bust anything turbo related and it's dollars out the wazoo. Trust me, i've busted enuf turbo related parts to fund the GDP of some third world country.
  5. http://www.greenline.jp/catalogue/bccatpar...ategory=cooling TRUST GReddy Intercooler Kit 12020078 - ¥75,999 ~ $918 + shipping V-SPL Type24C 2 core. Front Mount. Regular Hose. 276 x 600 x 76 mm --------------------------------- http://www.nengun.com/catalogue/product/28 12020078 AU $ 886.59 + shipping To Suit ECR33 V-SPL, 240 x 600 x 76mm, Suitable for genuine turbo and also GReddy turbo kit Sorry mate, upon further looking, it actually says FROM $735 and when I clicked on that, I see that that price is for a replacement stock sized intercooler. Sorry for leading you astray but still good prices on the two I quoted above. I'll edit my first post so I don't give the wrong impression to anyone else.
  6. Just for your reference, go to some of the online jap websites such as greenline or nengun as there are specials on full trust kits at the moment!! I paid $1100 for mine way back when and the kit comes with everything. Have a surf and you'll be surprised how cheap some brand name coolers are! (particularly when you're paying $350 for a non-name core + $700 odd for piping!)
  7. If by taking the piss you mean the whole "your car is a rice burning 2.0/2.5/2.6L juice box" vs your "all iron, heavy as shit, 5.0L+ goon bag" then clearly you are endowed with a huge wang which your boyfriend must love. I'm so jealous. I wish I could have a big wang like you. Then i'd be able to feel like a big man posting on forums where clearly nobody gives a flying F**k what you think. When I grow up, I wanna be just like you.
  8. Just put in 43Litres after just over 300kms. Lotsa boost
  9. that wing makes baby jesus cry....get rid of it. Nice car otherwise
  10. Thanks for all the feedback, really appreciate it. I definitely have a problem with my rubber as i hate my tyres and obviously that will help but like SK said, suspension geometry is my major area of weakness. I think i'll be looking more into those Whiteline "works" packages.. Cheers!
  11. :bs!: Pull your head out. For all intents and purposes, all us RB25 boys(and girls) have roughly the same setup, with the only notable difference being our engine management and turbo. Those that are capable of reaching said horsepower usually all have CAI, regulator, bigger pump, bigger turbo, cooler, zorst, boost, ECU and cam gears give or take. Those that SAFELY make that horsepower, would ALL have bigger injectors, end of story. Sure, I'm not saying that he couldn't get there, son of rajab knows I could have got my tuner to just wind 1.6 bar into my turbo, cranked the rail pressure right up and nudged my power figure toward the quoted 400 you speak about but how long would that last? one run? two runs? one month? I'm not having a pissing competition with anyone. All I know is that after shelling out thousands in an engine rebuild once due to ignorance, I don't want to be having another any time soon and therefore, my warning to Kym stands as far as i'm concerned. No i'm not a mechanic and i'm sure there are lots of workshops that have traded successfully for a lot of years and all that BS that we've all heard before. Kym, if you're entering a pissing contest, ignore my warning and let them screw as much horsepower as they can possibly get out of your stock injectors. Bear in mind that spray patterns are effected once you crank rail pressure up. End of the day, it's your car and your money. Best of luck mate and I honestly mean that. For me, I'm happy to putt around on 12-14psi until I upgrade my injectors but that's just me. /end rant
  12. Rob, I dunno about anyone elses car or how anyone else tunes. All I can tell you that with mine, although my AFR remained perfect at 12:1 at 1 bar, my injector duty was like 98% according to my PFC. That to me reads that I shouldn't be pushing it any harder than that boost wise for risk of my injectors maxing out, my AFR leaning back out and my car detonating. I hold no opinions in the way SST vs any other people tune, I don't know anything about Tristans car, I don't know anything about the Wolf vs the PFC cause i've only used the latter, I don't know anything about Kym's car or your car. My original comment is based purely on MY experiences with MY car. I'll close by saying that given another $2K to spend on car (and i'm buying a house so i don't have that money at the moment), it'd go straight to injectors and another PFC tune @~1.4-1.6 bar and be the happiest camper around town. Cheers!
  13. Kym, You still on your stock injectors? If so, be careful cause with that much boost, you're injectors are going to be maxxing out big time if you're on stockies. I don't run any more than a bar into my 2535 and that gets me dangerously close to 100% injector duty according to my PFC. Glad you're enjoying it though, told you it was worth the $$
  14. ok, i'm getting sick of reading the "lets pile shit on WA cars". I for one can tell you that i'm on stock injectors, and at 12psi pushing 220rwkw or thereabouts confirmed through numerous runs and several dynos. At that power level, my injectors are at something ridiculous like 95% even with a rising rate fuel regulator and a 450HP pump. Every time I wind the boost to this level, i get nearly exactly the same result on my PFC and dyno printouts. Not all WA cars have magic power figures from special dyno's with miracle stock fuel systems. I have a receipt from my tuner (Hyperdrive ) after my powerFC tune that says "Recommend bigger injectors". Get over it already.
  15. Have a read of this thread i started not long ago http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=63650 Has a few responses about what people are currently running and what they think of them.
  16. Mikey, Dunno how you read this but I read it to say "if you define drift as what you do when you're 3/4's around the corner and plant your right food, don't apply" I would think Jash is looking for maybe people who have done the collie drift days before etc rather than road dori dori wannabes.
  17. Cheers for all you replies! Keep them coming. I can't believe some of you like the Kuhmo Ecsta Supra's. I have them on now and I hate them! Each to their own. The Trampio's are looking to be a good choice
  18. I'm in the market for some new rears *heaven knows why?* Just like some feedback on what tyres you all have on and are you happy with their grippiness (if there is such a word)? Been quoted ~$420ea for Dunlop Direzza's DZ101's which i'm told is the "best money can buy" and ~$340ea for Toyo TPG Trampio's in 255/40/17 size. Obviously a bit of range there so want to see what every one else is using. Cheers! Dave
  19. maybe the PFC reads different to the speedo to due the conversion of electronic signal to an analogue needle vs the PFC digital display. *just guessing though*
  20. I agree with Bazelinez, the speedo and real world speed do tend to be out slightly. I know on the private road i use, my PFC reads 180 as my speedo nudges the little "HICAS" light off the end of my 180km/h stock speedo. at 200km/h on the PFC, the needle was just past the HICAS light.
  21. Nice car Looks very clean and straight. One question, 218rwkw? Correct me if i'm wrong but I don't see any mechanical mods listed, from the looks of it, the engine bay looks stock and you've still got stock cooler. Just seems like a lot of power for air flow (arc box + zorst)fuel + boost.
  22. 555cc injectors will supply approx 33% more fuel, and given the stock ecu already runs the car rich, you'd be a lot of trouble with bigger injectors. so i agree with neil_se, that's a big NO! If you have the nismo injectors already for an RB25, seeing as you can't use them, i'll do you a favour and buy them off you for cheap
  23. Thanks for all the replies. For the driver training, i already had the fronts 2psi higher than the rears but I hate my current rubber so that will definitely be the first change. Would I be worthwhile simply purchasing something like the Whiteline "Handling" Kit or should I just go to a local suspension shop and get them to supply and fit the bars and camber kit?
  24. Hi all, After recently doing a driver training in my car, I have discovered the aweful stock handling flaw in most whales called understeer. This was also emphasised by the instructor who's words stick clearly in my mind "TURN YOU UNDERSTEERING PIG!". Well, I want to correct this situation. Saying that, it's a street car, I don't use it for the track but I may do an MC Motorsport type competition from time to time. My question: What is the best way/what are my options, to fix this understeer? I'm not keen on changing tyres so i'm talking more suspension mods. Car is currently stock suspension wise. Any help you could provide would be appreciated.
  25. I hate my Kuhmo's. Worst POS tyre i've ever driven on. No grip, wear quickly, noisy bastard of a tyre. I'm getting rid of them. Heard good things about Michellin's but be prepared to pay the $$
