Don't use your old rings. You probably shouldn't be going standard bore either but if it'll hone up to an accurate piston to bore clearance then it'll be ok. Just never seen one come out perfect after 50k though. Chances are the old rings won't fit the new pistons Chances are the new pistons come with rings anyway so why would you even consider it? They don't have studs, they use bolts from factory and Nissan can help you with them. If you get stuck for a part number and need help ring 07 32907890 and ask for Alan or Joel

Insane Result From Gcg High Flow 274.2 Rwkw, 16 Psi
The Dan replied to DFAULT's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
No, it would fail because the tuner is practically guessing after 220rwkw and anything can go wrong after that. Air temp changes, air density changes, boost spike, coolant temp increases and there's not enough safety window to cover it. -

Well I know for a fact the standard injectors are capable of that power figure because Oblivion makes those figures on them. But the AFM? I know for a fact the airflow required to make that hp is well and truly out of the scope of the standard AFM. I'm sceptical but would be good to see some other 'more informative' graphs -

That mark is not perfectly lined up. Turn it another degree clockwise.
-
What I am saying is that you probably don't have the crank lined up EXACTLY with the mark on the oil pump, so if you lined the balancer up with the 0* mark then the cams are likely to STILL line up anyway. The crank mark on the gear is the hardest to line up properly because you are always looking down at it from an angle so it can always be off slightly. What I am also saying is that you are frigging around with it and being waaay too paranoid about 1 or 2 degrees on the balancer when chances are when the thing is running and you put a timing light on it, it will be moving around 1 or 2 degrees anyway so it's going to be practically impossible for you to get it right to the degree anyway. If the balancer is in good nick, then use it and drive the car. If not, then replace it with a good aftermarket one. If you can't afford the ~$600 AUD for one then save up, buy one, and your problem disappears. That is, of course, if there is even a problem there to begin with....which I think there is probably not.

So how did Slide f**k this guy around? He paid on Friday which meant it wouldn't have cleared in their account til at least Monday, parts were sent Tuesday and arrived interstate on Thursday. Sounds pretty good to me. I understand there are unhappy customers but it's no excuse to take out the trash.

A bit late for that. Late or not, this thread is just wrong and quite frankly I'm f**kin appalled that moderators haven't closed this down considering it has just become a Slide bash fest and also considering he is a trader on here.

Ok, here is what you do. Go to the calendar. Look at what day it is. IT'S THURSDAY, CLOWN! And as for Auspost, I've sent shit to Cairns before and it hasn't arrived for two weeks. Besides, I thought I read in your other panic thread that they sent the via Fast track or whatever. Not Auspost.

If you are going to do your timing belt, then make sure you replace the idler bolt. It has not really got anything to do with power levels. It only has to do with the bolt already having cracks. If in doubt, take your old bolt to an engineer for a crack test or xray and you will find it is fubar. We are using 10.9 grade bolts as 12.9 is usually a cap head and I have seen these foul on the lower cover as they sit too proud. A breakage of a new geniune bolt is not a common thing so don't everyone start getting paranoid, out of the approx 80 timing belts I have done on skylines, this is the only new one to have broken. This is why I am taking on the experiment because we have the resources at our disposal and it will also help to clarify some cryotreating questions we have at the same time. Hopefully it goes in for treatment this weekend. We are waiting in them having enough other jobs to warrant such a small one. We have also found that no bolt manufacturers will give any gaurantee on a bolt for any reason, so if a new one breaks, you are on your own.

Yeah I had a guy come in with a noise once. Turns out the tensioner stud broke and the belt was pushing the bearing into the side of the lower cover. Lucky save that one was.

Need New Clutch Bolts For Flywheel
The Dan replied to Stealthynsa's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Don't talk to me about torque, I know torque! I would have thought 33ft/lb would be a bit too harsh. 33nm would seem more practical but if it says that in the manual than all good. -
Chris: http://maps.google.com.au/maps?rlz=1C1CHNG...ved=0CCMQtgMwAA Connect the dots and go in between. There are no car audio places it seems in the wynnum or manly areas. Also Norman park, Camp hill, Carindale, Carina, Morningside, Cannon Hill, Greenslopes, Annerley, Fairfield, Mansfield, Upper Mt Gravatt, Eight Mile Plains. And remember...if you come to Yatala, we can have lunch together every day! yay!!

Quick Question Lower Intake Manifold
The Dan replied to TriniGT's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Oh ok, I'll explain then. Reasons why I would be sitting at any given time during the day: 1. Answering and email 2. Having lunch 3. Sitting at the workbench fixing your messy...no make that, dodgey wiring. 4. Sitting in the passenger seat of a car trying to get a short shifter out that you put in with a hammer and broke 5. Driving to your house to fix a mistake you have made 6. Sitting on the toilet pumping out something that resembles your face 7. Answering the phone Please don't hesitate to ask for clarification on any of the points above or if you would like me to add to it. Either that or you could mind your own business and accept the fact that I am trying to throw work your way. Oh and TriniGT, Shane does a pretty good job on the billet stuff. Competitively priced and local also so good for information if you have problems installing yourself.
