Try checking knock sensors, not sure if the 33 has them also but it should do. They will effect you in this exact rev range. TPS, KNOCK SENSORS and AFM are all integrated into the fuel map and Timing map so any of them could be faulty. That or what the others are saying about the coil packs.

Negative, you will never get over it. I never have...a friggin truck backed into mine and fully smashed up my spoiler and boot lid and tail light then drove off. If I were you I would approach the company, not the person and tell them you are sending them a letter of demand as one of your staff witnessed the incident. Good Points: It is a Nissan product, it is off an RB20 - the sickest of all the engines, it serviced me well for 2 whole years, it didn't break down on me even when it was completely stuffed. Bad points: I GOT BEATEN BY A FRIGGIN 2.0 N/A CALIBRA!!! I will post photos soon and the Queensland SAU community will decide its fate.

The K&N would probably be your best bet I would say. They are not only the leaders in their field but they offer a one million kilometer warranty in most cases. It might only be 500000, can't remember. I would have no doubt that the HKS one was developed in Japan and would probably not be entirely suited to our climate, especially Broome of all places. How is it over there at this time of year by the way? Hot enough for ya?. Would only buy the unifilter if I absolutely could not afford the K&N. They do make good filters though. The short of it is this. You can pay $150 for the K&N and never look after it and never clean it and it will be crap. Any air filter has to be maintained and cleaned, these all can be cleaned, I guess it comes down to your budget in the end.

you would definately hear valvetrain noise if it was just above zero. The Skylines have very small tolerances and it becomes very obvious when you have no oil pressure. I got an aftermarket guage and warm idle mine sits between 15 and 20 PSI cold idle about 55 PSI. The genuine dash unit is very broad in its reading.
