Just Got My First Import Gtst 93 From Victoria
RosieR34 replied to ozdaz's topic in Australian Capital Territory
Yeah it's always hard and everyone is bias (most of the time) when selling goods at a shop. I've had a few people offer me their advice but on the side mentioned that they have to say it but directed me to a better brand. Which is why I mentioned to do your homework before you commit. A lot of blokes around here catch on when you're striving to get the best out of your car, genuine about your interests in the car which the mechanic appreciates. I am ALWAYS nice to people who serve me because at the end of the day they are the people who are making my food, drink or going to be working on my car. I can assure you that if you give lip and expect a service then you're going to get the proper work done... but in the most lazy way possible which turns out to be a bit of a fail. just gotta test the waters. I've been to 2 different mechanics and about to test a 3rd (Trojan) they're a skyline specialist so I'm hoping they're my go to guys -

I guess people just have different opinions on brands and experience. At the end of the day you need parts that talk to each other correctly. No backyardy jobs unless you're DIY MIK and even he uses mechanics sometimes- In my short time being on SAU - I've found out that it's a knowledge Portal and everyone is willing to help out (most of the time). I've even had guys interstate PM me that if I needed any questions answered / advice that to give them a PM and they'll help me out. So everyone seems to be getting the best out of each and every Skyline. Not real sure about the complience work, since I was told all interstate cars must go through Dickson only - I've tried calling up other places for them to pass it but been told that I have to go to Dickson becuase it's interstate, but then I've had people mention that it doesn't matter. Unsure on the process but I'm sure you'll find out sooner or later. Cheers -
I'm left you right?

Sounds promising. There are a few build threads on this forum which you can check out and steal some ideas off. I'm an impulse buyer as well and it sucks I'm following Sin's R34 GTT build to claim 250-260kW. Not only that I know it was successful but I've also been for a ride in it which confirmed me wanting to commit. Gotta do your homework before you splurge out K's of cash. since you were into V8's at one point in time I'm sure you know the type of power you're chasing. When you mod - more things can go wrong with it so you gotta do it right the first time ! But I guess getting over pits is the first step. Rosie goes into Trojan tomorrow to get complied and then over the pits shortly after. Fingers crossed for both of us m8. cheers -
Oh Hi Anthony - to think you were going to say something positive this time. lolol

There is a silver R33 4door that parks on the roof of Civic parking. I see him there a lot. Asian looking driver. Looks pretty nice but not as nice as Rob's

Anymore news on the car Daryl? Cheers -
hehehe - it wasn't Rosie ! but I must find this other Red R34 GTT and tell him to get off my turf !

You won't have a business without customers though haha I have turned down plenty of business purely on their customer sercice. I normally go by a 2chance rule. I consider the first time to be a one off and if it happens a second I'm gone.

Formal Car Hire - Drop Off And Pick Up
RosieR34 replied to BrendanH's topic in Australian Capital Territory
Haha sounds like an awesome time to get the skyline out ! I'm sure some GTR's will put up their hands . If Rosie was scratch free I'd help out. Have an awesome night ! -
Swaps? I got a GTT? hehehe

Each have their own strengths and weakness - all are amazing I just take a liking to the R34 for the lines. I'm guessing there is an import law saying you cannot import new cars? (I.e the R35 being able to be imported?) In that case, that would be amazing. Wanting to pick up an R34 GTR in the next coming of years and if they drop in price becuase the R35 comes out.. then I'm cheering ! I couldn't care for resell value.

lols. Given the R34 GTR is the last "Skyline" may linger a lot longer. Besides, it all comes down to personal perspective. I think the R34 GTR looks insane and the engineering for the R35 GTR is beyond gob smack. I will be a "Classics" man soon once the R34 GTR is outdated - but then agian, it's still a beast on todays roads.

I had some guy eye-balling me at the petrol station one day. He was driving a Holden VE and kept looking at me, so I looked the other way to try and not start some "ricer vs muscle" thing at the Servo. He walked in front of my car looking at Rosie so I just looked around. As this guy walked out after paying for his fuel he looks at me again, this time I got the balls to look at him and ready for something to go down... he looks at me and says "Nice ride man". to which I said "Cheers" hestitently haha Most days I get people give me a thumbs up or a "Fat burnout" sign so I guess the Skyline is still recognised. However, I lose my marbles when I see a R34 GTR / R35 GTR - such awesome cars.

Friday - Spotted an Orange R33 pull up behind me at the petrol station - gave a wave, got a look. Nob heads. Monday - Saw a maroon R33 coming out of Charnwood - Gave a wave - got a hesitant wave back haha

Be careful not only in Vic but every other state. Normalllllly - SAU people are fair honest - as we are a little tight knit community. I purchased Rosie from vic (SAU seller) and it was quite a good deal. Nothing wrong with it and all in good nick - all I could ask for was a little less lazier seller cheers -

Bryce came aorund again and put in some stock springs - by gosh I am as high as a 4WD. Bryce took Rosie for a decent spin haha was good fun. Also, I took Bryce's car for a spin - very impressive. First Skyline I have driven which isn't mine - NERVOUS CRUISING AROUND WITH LMGT4'S! -

Parts need to talk with each other or else they're just junk in the trunk huehue. I suggest talking with someone (with knowledge) and aim for a power outlet - If you're wanting 300kW then ask a specialist on what supporting mods you need to get that. Figure out what you want in the end game and work towards it - it's not a cheap journey. cheers -
