  1. if your gunna paintstrip it then it's going to turn into a big messy job . If the existing paint is half decent just scuff the car up with 800wet/dry . With the few dents you have just scuff up the area with a rough paper 120dry apply your filler then block flat with 120dry once you rubbed fairly flat finish off with 240 dry then apply a primer surfacer over the top . Block the primer with 320wet/dry then finish off with 800wet/dry making sure all the 320 scratches are gone .
  2. Are they two 2 1/2 into three or two 3inch into three
  3. roughly around the 200kw@all four mark and high 12's if you have a healthy example . One thing I've learn't is that they tend to differ a great deal from car to car .
  4. As the topic suggest I'm after a nice pair of free flowing dump pipes brand names would be nice . email [email protected] or pm regards Brett
  5. The person driving the datsun 1600 on Sunday night was a friend of mine . He not only collected people he didn't know but also atleast one member of his family who was standing on the side of the road . To be honest the future at the moment isn't looking to bright for him and there is atleast one spectator hanging on to his life by a thread in hospital . I think most people on here have particapated in atleast one street race in there life even if it be just by accident . I certainly know that I have done this before but have never gone out specifically looking for it as I would rather do my racing at WSID and get a timeslip to prove how fast the car is . There is no excuse for my friends actions or what he and the other ppl present were participating in on sunday night but the thing is it was a freak accident . I've had people like my own father and other people who I have dealings with who are in a higher age bracket then myself say that he was a total idoit . But after recalling stories they have told me in the past about what they got up to in there younger days there comment's start to sound abit hypocritical .
  6. Hey ryan Is it two three inch into three inch or 2 1/2 into three inch ?.
  7. running 2530's here on what believed to be an internally stock rb26 . I'd say on stock fuel system 1.0-1.1bar would be about the limit as injectors would really be maxing out . I'm running bosch 044 , 550cc inj , hks fuel rail , adjustable reg , im at roughly 75% duty cycle at 1.2bar .
  8. On the mechanical side of things when she arrives get a full service done and get it looked over by a workshop there that deals with these cars . I'd be also doing a compression test and organising a dyno run just to see what the tune is like . If everything is ok and you have a established that you have a healthy GTR then when it comes to mod's ( don't know what mods your car has already) I would be starting with an after market exhuast nice front pipe and if you can afford the labour a decent set of dump pipes (r32 ones are restrictive) . Next step would be ECU something like a power FC which is easy to install there are a fair few ppl who are good at tuning them these days . I would also advise an electronic boost controller to keep the boost to a sane 1bar if you are running the std turbo's. At higher boost levels the turbo blades can leave the shafts and cause you all sorts of trouble .
  9. people usually go with a set of twins rather then a big single on v8's as the manifold setup is easier to design and fabricate .
  10. If you are talking 400hp at the wheels this can be easily achieved with a pair of nice low mounts such as n1's or 2530's at 1.2-3bar on pump fuel in a GTR You will also have the same response down low as the stock turbo's and the car will be a pleasure to drive on the street . Big singles are good for making big peak power and also the underbonnet wow factor but cruising around the street you will have no were near as much response as with the low mounts . When it all boils down for a street GTR low down and mid range response is what it's all about as I rarely wind my car right out on the street soppose it's why I've kept my license all this time .
  11. If you want a good tune of your power FC go see Ben at Bel performance . Made my GTR go from 12.1@114mph on a 17deg night to 11.9@115mph on a 27deg night down at WSID also returns heaps better fuel economy . Ben has the latest jap software for the power FC don't kid yourself there is alot you can't do just using the hand controller . Bel at the moment don't have a dyno they do all there tuning on the road which is the place you actually drive your car not on a set of roller's . They are also very competitive on price compared to alot of other performance shops mentioned .
  12. nothing wrong with apprenticeships don't waste your time at school if you don't want to really be there . Thing is most kids coming through now want to sit behind desk's the amount of quality trades people is getting thin .You do have the chance to make a pretty decent living in the future but don't except to earn very much while doing the apprenticeship. Most of the good jobs aren't advertised in the media but more by word of mouth , ring around a heap of places try to sound half switched on and you might be suprised at what you come up with .
  13. yeh I'm getting about 350+ out of a tank with stop start driving but keeping to the speed limit with a few blast's here and there . I do have a bigger fuel system and alot more power then standered but .
  14. Yep ATTESSA system is better on a vspec calculates much faster it's the same unit I believe that were fitted to the 33 GTR's . Other then Brembo's only other things I can think of is the vspec came with bigger 17inch wheels from the factory and maybe an oil cooler but don't take my word on that one .
  15. v-spec II N1 here
  16. Got one rb26 AFM left would prefer Sydney buyer but will send interestate. I did have a guy ring me and was going to send it to him but ended up loosing his contact details  . If your reading this just give me a ring if your still after the afm . $50 email [email protected] 041 0643320
  17. I soppose every set up and car is differen't , I think that 550cc injectors are the go on an internally std rb26 running sane boost no more then 1.3bar on pump fuel . But like stated by pnblight if your going more then 90% duty cycle it would be wise to move up . Only other thing I've been told is if you move right up to something like 720cc injectors cause of the bigger flow they become less refined and will make the car harder to tune at the lower rev's don't know if there is any truth in this?.
  18. how big are the hks front pipes?.
