  1. I notice when the tank gets alittle low on fuel (under half but unsure cause fuel guage does not work) I experience fuel surge if I put the boot in . I will be planing on doing a surge tank setup in the near future but wanted to know if I'm doing any real damage by running the car this way?.

  4. Yeh seems to be running clean at the top but just doesn't have the mph that it should. I'll be getting off my ass soon and making some changes and getting the tune looked at by a workshop that actually knows how to tune power FC's( PFC was put in by the previous owner and was tuned by a certain shop with a big v8 back ground) . It's done 270rwkw on unigroups dyno at 1.2bar I never got a printout of the run but the guys there seemed to think that the curve wasn't too bad at all . hopefully after the tune is looked at , cam gears dialed in and a couple of exhuast restriction removed hopefully should be on the money . I'll let you know how I go , is your GTR here yet?.
  5. torque also plays a big roll in low ET's specially at the first half of the track . This is why as mentioned above you see some of the v8 boys running low ET's in relation to there mph .
  6. a lesson I've learn't lately is that peak rwkw doesn't meen that you are going to run a certain ET or mph at the track even if your launch and changes are up to scratch. Good ET's and even a nice high mph depends alot on your power curve and other things as such . Take my GTR as an example currently making 270rwkw on a dynamic's dyno best ET and mph so far is 12.1@114mph with a 1.760ft and nice clean changes at the right rpms all the way down the track. Just looking at the peak power and comparing it with other r32 GTR's you would think it should be mid to high 11's at something closer to 120mph but it isn't .

  9. and it's also nice to have some half decent low down torque for a change which I found is certainly a downfall of the EJ20T in the wrx specially combined with a larger turbo which got to be abit annoying after awhile.
  10. I'm 21 but am paying not as much as some ppl might think for insurance on my GTR it's under a father/son deal but I only do minimal km's a year which makes the deal cheaper. Things that might be alittle hard to live with from day to day are things like harder suspension and depending on what clutch combo your running that can be alittle bit of a pain in traffic . Other then that something like an r32 GTR is an older car now and doesn't have the new relaxed feel that my my01 wrx had but the GTR feels like a more complete package all round .
  11. Yep sure did went from a MY01 with 190kw@all four to a r32 gtr and I'm loving it . The GTR has a fair few mods and is a blast to drive much quicker then the wrx and I don't have to be scared to punish it (blew two std box's in the wrx without trying) . My GTR isn't an everyday car but neither was the wrx so I can put up with a not so refined drive for alittle bit of fun on the weekends. I think if it is going to be an every day car you might want to go and have a drive of an r32 gtr as some people do find them abit hard to live with on a day to day basis.

  13. Yes just viewed it on the news could only tell the car by the wheels . Such a tragedy and it certainly a sad day.

  19. Yeh thats for sure I think when I go to upgrade mine rb20/25 afm's should do the trick ??.
  20. Got some bilstien coilovers if I want to lower the ride height of the car do I adjust the retaining nut up or down on the shock?.
  21. alot of people seem to have differen't opinions at what point the std AFM's are no good .
  22. what power at all four wheels in a GTR do the std AFM's run out of resolution?.
  23. I'd also be interested to know , I've got an excedy single plate button in my gtr thats not even 2000km's old and it's not holding up at the drags , will be after a twin plate soon I think .
