    Penpal's

Hey all , hope this will be helpfull to most. http://www.studentsoftheworld.info/ Its a great site to find penpal's around the world, I've already met a few from Japan and I've started practicing my Japanese with them ^_^ This kind of thing is great if you want to travel somewhere and want some info, the people are ultra friendly ! - Polski
  5. hey Sciby, i'm glad to see another person as keen as I am. been taking my free time lately to search up info on the whole deal as well. I guess after reading a hand full of good and bad stories, theres really no point of reading anymore but just going to experiencing it myself ! but its great theres so many webpages which give you tips for pre departure preperation. I'm set on going to Kobe, as I'll have accomodation sorted out there for the year. and I'll have someone to show me around / help me out when i need it. I've heard having a TESOL or CELTA certificate is almost necassary now to get a job without looking for a long time. pitty the damn things cost over 2K AUD ; ; maybe one of the resident japan guru's can fill us in on which one they think companies prefer ? TESOL or CELTA , or even something else ? I've seen a few job's advertised through the main gaijin webpages specificaly asking for the 2 mentioned so I'm assuming they are the two most aknowledged. Also, if a friend wanted to sponsor my VISA from Japan, what is the minimum income I would have to recieve for a work VISA . I've read different numbers on diff. pages, and i've also read there is case by case scenario now? is this correct? Sciby, will have to meet up for some sake in Japan
  6. speaking of other charges , can someone plz inform me of the costs of buying a car in Japan ? I know its different in each city as they have their own taxes. but maybe someone can give me an example of a 500,000Y vehicle. ? Rezz, what are you paying for your car space in Kobe? Im hopefuly moving to Kobe march/april next year
  7. White nothing, R32 GTS-t's go for 100,000Y - 200,000Y standard / minimal mods in auctions. which is about $1500 - $3000 AUD. i doubt rezz will tell u his price, caus it will probably make u cry
  8. all i can add is www.kobecars.com David Zozuk runs the show. He will purchase in auctions for you. if your interested in a particular car, he'll go take pictures and check the car for any obvious faults. he's been exporting for many years but he just upgraded his webpage, which is why theres isnt a couple of thousand cars on there.
  9. so what kind of mods are the cars allowed to have for shaken ? so if you buy a car from the auctions, chances are that it will most likely be due for a shaken in the near future? i was hoping to pick up an rx7 when i get japan
  10. gotta love wine red, definately my favourite colour on the 32's
  11. hey !! i just sold my set of fabulous rims i had the exact ones as the middle picture, car on the left, was on the soarer. any1 know how much they worth ? wondering if i gave someone a bargain ?
  12. Sciby i'm gonna do exactly the same thing i'm thinking FD rx7 for now, i wuv those machines !
  13. looks similar to an older soarer but just doesnt cut it
  14. I'm hoping to head over to europe for couple of months in december then arrive in japan feb - march '05 . cant wait ! been reading up forums day and night on info. my mate David from kobecars said he might have an apartment for me to live in. if i dont get into JET i reckon i'll just head over and find a job there. I was also under the impression that crime was virtually non existent within Japan, only organised crime. damn, i better not go there i kinda love Japan for the fact that people are crime free !
  15. hehe i read about those square watermelons, if only you could choose your location in an english school ! so Dave, u need any teachers in your area? ^_^
  16. now they all gone, cant see em no more ?
  17. Odd i can see all the pics just fine ?
  18. nice pics ! you get to go for a ride in any of the cars ?? now thats your next mission !
  19. looks like a late 80's honda integra with ugly work done to it ! then again they're ugly anyway
  20. From what I've read around other forums, JET is one of the best (also one of the hardest) to get into, they provide training, accomodation, vacation, etc. September is when they start recruiting for next year, i'm going to give them a shot ! If that doesnt work, i'm going to go to japan for a few weeks and find a job while i'm there. *Fingers crossed!*
  21. Thanks for raising those questions Sciby, I had very similar questions in mind as i want to go in 2005 as well ! after i finish my degree (half a year left woohoo) I'm still deciding whether to join a company like NOVA, or to go there with some money and look while i'm there.
  22. Those pics are fantastic!! I want to go live in Japan for a year or two, and this is making me want to go sooner !!
  23. Wilso , Try David Zozuk ... E-mail : [email protected] he ships cars / car cuts to australia, uk and russia . great guy . He's in adelaide right now, but he'll let you know what he can do. you might have to wait till he heads back to japan, most likely in a week or two but i'm not sure so just ask him.
