  1. Fitted cargo net and roll cover and fully shampoo'd the boot up. Lovely stuff
  2. ahh this is perfect - were planning a drive at the start of October in my series 1 stagea from Melbourne to Caloundra music festival, about 2000km and was wondering what things to be taking with me ironing out all the kinks over the next few months will be key and dropping down the fuel consuption, im getting around 14 - 15 per 100k so be nice to get that down to 12 or so to save some serious coins
  3. wish I had smaller hands! today I tackled, spark plugs, fuel filter, air filter, cleaned afm, attesa fluid and replaced all the dead lamps in the climate control unit! and refitted the stereo so it sits flush with the climate control couldnt face doing oil change today!
  4. been there dude - built a vw beetle and converted the front brakes to stud and nuts - after all the on and off, on and off of wheels in the 3 years it was being build i managed to lossen the studs slightly - they chose to fail on me on my way to get a roadworthy - sat on the side of the road with the car touching the floor and my girlfriend chasing the wheel down the street.. end of the day its only metal - expensive metal but it sure does shit you up
  5. Just seen this and that is one seriously cool car - probably one of the nicest examples ive seen (not been here long)
  6. Just finished work and went to check tyre pressures both fronts ( new tyres ) on 34 psi rears ( month old different brand same size ) left 33 right 35. Balanced all 4 to 33psi and took it for a blast.. Issue fixed and no shudder at all
  7. Just read all of this and seems I have exactly the same problem then.. cars very jerky at 100km when running at 2.5k - its a series 1 rs4 on 150k has odd front to back tyres - new pair to the rear a month before I bought it and new pair up front just last week for roadworthy and registration.. only noticed it yesterday on its first freeway run in a week and its very hesitent, thats another 220 bucks on tyres then! already picked up fuel and air filters and have new plugs to go in and contact cleaner to sort out the AFM just incase
  8. perfect just what I needed dude got a big list and probably lots of swearing to get on with now
  9. not long had my series 1 stag - been averaging 14/100 - mostly driving like theres police behind me apart from those odd blasts to get the chatter going going to do o2 sensor as I doubt its ever been done - car is on 154,000 anything else I should be looking at to get the fuel use down a touch?
  10. so car is all registered in victoria and have the same issue with number plates as before - bent into the recess! anyone got any ideas for that rubbish look on the front end of a series one - sorry for being slightly off topic
  11. Yeah. I'd love a black one but think the green works for that sleepery family wagon look. Just need to get a p as it match now for some touch ups
  12. trying our best - hopefully the mechanic will have it back together in the morning so i can get the buckled wheel swopped out and RWC asap so I can reregister. will do before an after shots of the paint correction too
  13. do it myself dude only ever done my own cars.. been a volkswagen for years and still am heres my show winning polo and show winning beetle which will hopefully get shipped over some time next year the stagea is planned to be just a family wagon that I want to clean up.. its fast enough and big enough to do everything - it does need to go lower with some bigger wheels to fill those massive fenders though
  14. How it looked in the for sale add... its a great car, needs tracking done asap After a cut, deswirl and polish the bonnet came up really well, got a fair bit of paint correction to get on with but the interior is now spotless and currently up on axle stands having cv boots changed, and new rubber for road worthy next up is a full car detail and underseal.. want a fitted sub enclosure for the boot and cargo liner and net.. just need victorian rwc and rego now
  15. my 96 series 1 rsfour before and after only owned it a week - currently having both cv joints done - by a mechanic and hes having a nightmare, glad i chose not to do it after a few passes with cut, deswirl, polish then wax needs more action but its heaps better
  16. just found this and the lower a pillar pod and sub enclosure are awesome - how do I get my name down for both of those ? cheers
  17. assuming that the wheels are the standard 16" ill have them dude Pete

  20. Hey guys, ive just picked up my first stagea its a series 1 RSFour in dark green, ive seen that the cargo cover was an optional extra but id really love to get one some how - any suggestions would be much loved.. cant wait to start working on this car, its got the typical rust under wing mirrors that will be sorted after the winter but other than that and a faded bonnet that needs cutting back and polishing up its a really clean car and lots of fun with that turbo'd engine.
  21. im sure a few more will crop up but the cars been looked after by a motorsport engineer since arriving in Australia a few years back and now its in my hands ill probably make a few f**k ups.. get it registered in victoria is my first mission! what a great car though - wanted one for years and now I have one
