  1. Rob, Squirt in 60-80 mls of Pro-ma. Must be someone in CBR sells it. magic stuff (unless it's a LSD then not a good idea)
  2. Yellow 34 southbound on the Monaro hwy yesterday around 1130, just north of Bredbo. Flashed lights and waved but (reflection on windscreen) hard to see if any response. And then...just the other side of Bredbo at 1620 the same car heading back north as I was heading home from CBR. Definitely no response to waves, etc. this time. Very nice car...looks like the one in Shell,s ID.
  3. OK...so this might not strictly match what we're doing here, but if anyone can tell me WTF this is about...... http://www.scp-wiki.net/scp-533
  4. DANOOH, If you took my post as personal I do apologise. After a lot of years of interaction, my tolerance to certain Government departments is virtually non existent. Unless you're the decision maker in Australian Customs, we're cool.
  5. The role I perform to earn a crust involves importing over a thousand shipments a year, by air and sea, from 18 origins around the world. After nearly thirty years dealing with Australian Customs, a few things have become quite clear: Most Customs people are barely literate and wombats generally have higher IQ's. Most Customs people fancy themselves as "important people". Have wet dreams thinking about having black shirts with SS on their collars. ...And almost ALL Customs people will sprout ANY bullsh!t to try and make themselves appear intelligent / superior / competent / informed / etc. The return in revenue compared to the cost of screening necessitates a threshold. Besides, if a consignment matches predetermined criteria - say, from a high risk country to a private address - it is already checked regardless of the value declared anyway, even it comes with the postman! I'm not saying the policy won't change, but I have heard so much crap from so many Customs people for so long, I worry about things when they happen. Certainly not when it is "planned" to happen. (Good on you GTRKat....that's how I feel about Woolies too!!)
  6. Late, I know... (but hard to post with no internet !) Silver 34 heading south into Cooma 1230 on 28/12 and... white 34 (looking very lost) on Sharp Street in the centre of Cooma around lunch time, 29/12? No responses. Have to introduce you to some checkout chicks at Cooma Woolies Rob....you'll do more than a few laps (trying to get away!!!)
  7. That's OK Stinky....thanks for the reply. VERY Nice pics you've posted BTW.
  8. Sent a pic via email to you Stinky....did you receive it? Haven't heard and thought I'd check that it actually went.
  9. Yeah that is true! At home (only ten K's away) the wind is now getting quite strong 30 - 40Kmh NW with some gusts that would be twice that. Nice and warm though.
  10. I rang around and found Shannons the cheapest too, and having first right over a write off is very important. My V36 is only $1100 a year for $40k cover but it is bundled with other vehicles. The more the merrier....
  11. Nipple Warmers? It hasn't got below zero for days.....
  12. Well as I live up the road from there I'll be down to have a look and hope to meet some of you.
  13. Ok, third tank of granny driving and when I filled up it said 841Kms to empty. (I have a pic but it says it is too large to post). I do not think I will improve on this because I didn't but the car to drive like this.....
  14. Agree with you GeeDod. The PT722's are rated V so 240Kph should handle it. I understand that the higher the rating the better a tyre [should] be, but you would like to think that a modern tyre of this size and profile would provide the expected quality. My point was more to the significant jump in price when you spec W or Z tyres when realistically most of us wouldn't push quite to the limits where we would notice the difference.
  15. Stormie, Probably a bit late but if it helps....I had the same problem. Looked around at a lot of tyres (considered the Yokohama's 'cos they are OEM on the 370Z but couldn't get a reasonable price) but finally went with a newer offering from Falken, the PT722. I had not thought about that brand as my impression was just cheap passenger car crap, but these are actually pretty good tyres. I went up a size so 235/50-18 on the front and 255/45's on the rear and walked out with change from a grand! And don't get caught up in the bullshit about speed rating - at 180Kph that's it, so why pay through the nose for a Z rated tyre? The Falken's probably don't have the same level of adhesion as say a Continental tyre, but they do have a lot of feel when pushing the car hard. For the price not a bad deal.
  16. But if the can was dented....was the fluid still OK ?????
  17. I'm with you Yo-Yo. Got my V36 through IMG Andrew and Gavin "exceeded expectations" all the way. (Still have my auction sheet too).
  18. Well, not wanting to appear a smartarse I thought it might be interesting to actually try this. 1/ Reset "Historical" fuel usage 2/ Reset "Trip" fuel usage 3/ Drove vewy, vewy quietly... When I filled up - the overall (historical) usage showed 11 Kms/Litre, - and the trip (between the dials) showed 14.4 Kms/Litre. Now my first name isn't Albert but I can calculate that with 80 litres in a tank, this gives a theoretical range of either 880Kms or 1152Kms When I filled up....you guessed it....Range to Empty : 665 Kms. So I'm with alkatraz. It is not the wascally wabbit that needs shooting!
  19. Love 370gt... Reset your historical fuel usage (same button as climate control screen) and drive like a granny for a tank or two, and then see what you get when you fill up.
  20. I looked through my menus and not there. Surprising since (as I have posted) my 2010 has extra choices on the settings menus - but this isn't there. Probably right ...an option. Got all excited there for a bit thinking I might have solved another selection
