Hey guys, i've put a deposit down for an R33 GTS, manual Now.. i'm from NSW and already have my Automatic Provisional License... I got the line because, i would like to learn manual and then get my P's on a manual for assorted reasons... I am curious... what are the laws regarding this... Do i simply learn it, go to the RTA and take the manual test? Or are there some other complications? I was speaking to a friend from VIC and he said down there after you have your Red P's (auto) you can't apply for a manual license until you have your full license.. But, i know in NSW after a year on your red P's, you're allowed to drive a manual regardless of whether or not you have a manual license.. The big issue for me here is, am i allowed to resit my test for a manual car after having already recieved my auto license? ( I haven't held my auto license for a year) I have checked the RTA website.. but the information i have found is already known to me.. P1 licence, signified by a red P plate, is issued for 18 months Be restricted to driving an automatic transmission car or clutchless manual (depending on the vehicle in which the DART is undertaken). ( I can't find anything saying you can't resit the DART )

It could be the new P plate laws affecting him.. much the same as they affected myself...Everything else the guy above mentioned is helpful.

Well...we drove on down to manly this arvo.. just our luck there's a mess up on the spit bridge...extra extra long detour to get there.. we arrive the gunmetal grey 1994 r33 gts is sittin out the front.. looken shmick ( not even polished up ) Inspect it, everything all around, inside, internal etc etc.. bloody nice Haggle for a bit...get him from 13,990 to 13.5k, WITH 3 year warranty, 2 years free servicing, 1 year rego.. and im the first owner in Australia. lol they are very nice, but, i'm after manual, and a conversion is too messy at the moment,..and the R33 gts25 i have just found is great.. looking at it tomorrow.. and most likely getting it tomorrow i'll post tomorrow arvo on how it all goes...

mmmm... what is the general price range for R33 gts25's series I and II ? ( non turbo) Because.. i saw a R33 i think series I perhaps... broken handbrake.. minor superficial damage on drivers door.. and the dealer wanted 13.5 for it i think.. and I thought that was a load of crap... it looked to be worth <13k but in his words ( it will tidy up very nicely) ooo the white one at the first place i saw sold over the weekend ..but i've seen 2 more in better condition and cheaper... need to pray they don't get snapped up..

If anyone knows of any nice r32 or r33 gts's for sale <15k please pm me or add me to msn [email protected] I've found a few.. but, i'm sure you guys probably know better places to look etc.

Well had another look today... found a r33 gts25 might be able to get it down to around... 13 he said 13.5 but we'll see... might go for a drive up to newcastle to sus out this white s13 tomorrow...

Well guys... today i went on down to auto alley with my dad... started looking at dealer specific cars mitsu's nissan etc...but, didn't like em for the lack of variety... so we took a cruise on down the road to this assorted dealer... walk in.. see this white r33 GTS 1995... i'm looking at it.. look inside... and it's mint.. farken mint... ask to see under the hood.. and my jaw dropped... it is so clean... and just so f**king clean and well conditioned it's unbelievable... 65k on the clock.. and it shows... So my dad is also looking at driving the car i would like to get.. and he's in love with the line which is great for me he's down to get i'm down to get it... just need the consent of the lioness mum. Oh by the way... he's asking 14k ( 13k maybe if we get it tomorrow ) for it... stock as a rock... clean like you wouldn't believe...if i can get pics i will.. it looks, sounds and feels like it got produced yesterday :lol: So do you think it's worth 13-14k? I sure as hell do, but you guys have alot more experience.. and any feedback would be greatly appreciated as i'm positive someone will snatch it up...soon if we don't act quickly

spewin.. i also know that after a year on your P's down here (auto) you can drive a manual without even having a manual license.. (drive it alone)

uhh... i don't quite understand..... with your P1 license on the back in tiny print it says if you're an auto driver "prov driver auto veh only" manual allows you to drive both..I'm just wondering if i need to redo 50 hours on manual... so far i;ve heard you haven't but my source isn't too reliable.

Another new step for me now... I have decided to look for a manual.. seeing as i originally wanted my manual license in the first place but, my cousins car was unavailable too much... so basically looking for a manual now... quick question on that.. now that i have my p's.. do i need to do another 50 hours manual? or can i just learn cruise in pass and done? Are 33 manual and 32's non turbo's classified as a high performance 6 cyl? Oh i've also heard it's pretty easy to by pass the P plater laws..e.g family has 1 car.. parents claim they need it for business... you get the car you want turbo etc and are allowed to drive it.. not entirely clear on it.. but that's how my mate ended up with an r33 turbo.. I'm also in a similar situation to him.
