  2. It is the connector & pins ONLY, as shown in the pic in the first post. No electronics boards, no wiring, just the connector & pins.
  3. Damn that sucks. I guess the RX7 manual has the same details as the ECR33 manual would - except the boost control kit setup is different, as the RX7's have twin turbo and have primary and secondary boost settings via the Commander. Paul - I think you should update your site to advise that the only Commander manual is actually for an RX7. It tripped me up initially.
  4. I have a Power FC Hand Controller and was wondering where I can find an instruction manual for one (for an R33) in English. I have found a few downloadable instruction manuals on the web but every one I've found is for a FD3S RX-7.
  5. I have just got my car from the ship and need to deliver it to the compliance workshop but before I do I want to fix my horn. I of course will need the horn to work to get it registered. For some reason, my horn didn't work when I pressed it, then I checked in front of the radiator and there is no horn there. I can get an actual horn from anywhere but need to know where the wires are to connect it up. Help please (with pics) if possible/necessary.
  6. The battery in mine is not dead and still it does nothing.
  7. I am looking for a set of factory option Gts-t or preferably GT-R side skirts and if possible a set of rear pods as well for a series 2 R33 Coupe. I DO NOT want any veilside, 400R or any other bigger kits - am sticking to a factory type look Prefer silver but will consider other colours. Email me Alan.Mears@honeywell.com or PM
  8. Yes - I can still start the car whether I press the button on this thing or not and whether it's in the car or not.
  9. I picked up my car from customs yesterday and whilst going through the car, I found this (see two attached pics) in the glovebox. There is a single button on the top and on the side is a small rectangular piece which I think is metal not plastic. Does anyone have idea what it is? I have checked the 3V battery in it and it's not flat but when I press the button, nothing happens in or around the car. I know the Series 2 came with a (rather crappy) factory alarm option. Would it be for this or an immobilisor?
  10. I picked up my car today and I asked the guy at the cleaning place why he thought my car had to have a wash. He said "This car is one of the cleanest cars I've seen in a long time. I have absolutely no idea why they would want it done. It certainly didn't need it" When I got the car home, I proceeded to pull out all the stock parts that were sitting in the boot... in plastic bags... full of sand. I CALL SHENANIGANS!!!
  11. They take their sweet f**kin time too. I've had my car in the queue to get cleaned, with the other imports for 8 days now and it hasn't been done yet. I've been advised that it may take another 2-3 days. Just like trying getting your car ON the boat at Japan, it seems that new cars take precedence over 2nd hand imports when they reach Oz as well.
  12. Well - at least my car will be even cleaner now
  13. Under what conditions do the customs guys deem your car to require a steam clean after it's come off the boat. I got pics of my R33 just before it left Japan and at that time it had a full detail inside & out and was immaculate (including the engine bay). It arrived in the port about 2 weeks ago and now I've been waiting about a week for my car to get steam cleaned, also referred to as a "Quarantine Wash". A healthy $60 charge to transport the car to a wash station (1-2km away from the wharf) and another $97 to wash the car is included in my bill. Sure - if a car is quite dirty it might need a clean but mine was seriously immaculate. Is it a scam to make money for the cleaning guys? Or would each car genuinely require a wash like this.
  14. So does that mean goods that are manufactured anywhere in the world and then sold in the US OR manufactured AND sold in the US
  15. Ended up costing $7.50 to pull the tyre & $55 from Gommer. Legend! It no longer looks like an egg

  17. East to install. There are a few threads in the tutorials/DIY section on install boost gauges and the Profec controller Greddy Profec : Here Boost Gauge : Here Did you even do a search before posting!?!
  18. When you have a look at the stock head unit aerial connection, you'll see there are actually 2 aerial connections. One for the aerial that goes up/down and one for the aerial that is a series of wires ON your rear window (amongst the deimster wires). If you don't want to the rear aerial to go up and down, simply use the other aerial wire and leave the motorised one disconnected. You should still get a decent radio reception with the "rear window" aerial.
  19. I was actually considering using a fuel filter/water trap that diesel engines use (See pic). This can hold about 100mL but you can get bigger ones. Only costs about $35 too
  20. My car only has 21,00km on it so it doesn't get any really noticable oil blow-by (nor leaking seals), but I want to prevent oil coating my intake piping now and in the future. IMO a catch can would be useful to gauge whether any seals DO start leaking in the future.
  21. I'm not concerned with anybody who races their cars. I'm only really interested in daily driver cars and how much a stock or lightly modified RB would blow. Does the average Jo that uses their car for a run to work and back each day with the occasional spriited drive really need an catch can that can hold 1 Litre of oil. I think not.
  22. I was thinking about making a catch can at home instead of buying one. Most of the catch cans you can buy are quite large and could easily fit 0.5 - 1.0 Litres of oil in them. For those of you with a catch can, I was wondering how much oil is actually collected/drained from the can, and how often. Please provide your engine type, kms the engine has done and power output to get a gauge on how big I should make the can for my car.
  23. If the pressure source for the solenoid (the red hose that Wilch referred to) was tapped to the intake pipe before the intercooler, wouldn't the Profec be controlling to an inaccurate boost level? I was under the impression that there is a pressure drop across the intercooler so if the pressure before the intercooler was say 9psi, your engine isn't really getting 9psi but something less than that. wilch - Can you also explain how the effectiveness of the solenoid can be different by using the hose from the intake manifold instead of tapping into the intercooler-to-throttle body pipe? Why does the use of a say 30cm longer hose affect it?
  24. I agree. For me (30 yo, Rating 1, no traffic infringements or accidents in last 5 years, 96 R33, heaps of mods, value $25K) Just Car was $1064 with excess of $1500+. HBF was $960 with $200 excess. The fact that I'm 30 probably has a lot to do with the low HBF excess too.
