I'm 18; I've lost my licence for a few months - for speeding, I was emotionally influenced at the time, and it's not something I plan to repeat... and I know how much of a pain in the arse it is taking public transport (i live 3km from the bus stop, and travel an hour and a half to uni, one way!) - I realise how much of a privelidge having a licence is... however, that said... I feel that the government isn't hearing us, and isn't doing squat about the problem of "hoons", people who repeatedly break the law and have no regard for others lives - thus I think a system should be brought in - whereby you can take a special licence test, maybe in sync with CAMS, and that after taking this test - you are given a special licence. This licence would allow you to attend track events a certain number of times a year, for free. Also, up the fines for certain offences - and then use the "new money" to build tracks in various major cities around the nation. Have a track on the north side of sydney, say between the central coast and sydney - up in the bush somewhere up near peats ridge/mooney mooney... whatever! It's not hard, it'll give people an incentive to take it off the street - and those who dont use the system, and continue to break the law - fund those people who want to do the right thing. Ultimately it'll never happen - because the government sucks, the way the law is enforced sucks (not always, but majority of the time), and the law itself sucks (famous guy drink drives... gets suspended a few months, slap on the wrist... rich guy knocks someone off a bike and kills him, big fine, suspension, slap on the wrist... utter..... crap.....!)

nice, very nice! aren't you worried about scratching it up and destroying it though, especially with your ride height? i know if i spent that much money on something like that and was in your car - i would either never drive my car around, or raise it to a height where the asphalt cant try to bond with the CF so easily!

Err, if you're on greens, why are you getting done for driving manual? You're allowed to drive any transmission on greens... Anyway - yeah - appeal it I guess. I'm going to court on tuesday, appealing a speeding offence i committed in august last year - my first, only, and (hopefully) last offence There were a large number of factors regarding mine - so i've prepared character references from several people who are in high positions and who can vouch for my usual driving character, and i'm also preparing a brief document outlining the situation, why it happened, how i feel about it, and why i am appealing my licence... So yeah, appeal it if you think it's worth fighting and you have some valid reason - but the best thing to do? Dont do stupid shite - think about the consequences... so if you need to do certain things like talk on phone, or drive manual car... get a hands free kit, redo your Ps for manual if you get a manual car, etc

are you guys going to be parking in the main part of newport, or at the beach? haha I live just up the road, so I'm probably going to rock up in a turbo diesel landcruiser, phwoarrr, fear my speed! Congrats on getting it back dude, I hope you get all the problems fixed up and that it's alright mechanically! Definitely invest in a good alarm, and like others have said, go for all black wiring. I would also be very very weary about where you park and also who you tell about the car. All the best! Ciao.

apexi sell something *similar*, called an exhaust control valve - it doesnt bypass your exhaust, it can close it off/open it up... useful if your car is over the db limit - hehe... they're not too exxy either, only around $300 odd i think. it's manually controlled with a little cable though, not electric but i was toying with the idea of modding it to be controlled with a push button and electric motor EDIT: LINK!!! http://www.importscene.com.au/prod466.htm

SR is an alloy block, 4cyl RB is a cast iron block, 6cyl heaps of other differences... stock for stock, I think the RB has *slightly* more power, but *slightly* less torque... someone who can be bothered to explain it all will be able to help out further EDIT: some info! Silver R33 - de-winged - plates CYAHSV - anyone on here? if so, havent seen your car around this area before buddy, but looked pretty clean without the wing - nice exhaust too - i didnt see it bouncing around - which is a good thing hey, I was driving away from palm beach, down through the shops area - and you guys were both driving through there... i think the R32 was in front and you were behind - i was in a crapbox red subaru wagon, so you wouldnt have noticed me - haha, i wasnt stalking you or anything - just driving along and saw you go past!
