  1. Are you sure it can read more than 500 files? I thought this was the limit.
  2. I would disagree here, I spent extra time on auctions to get a good car with the beige interior. As far as resale goes, I'm selling my car atm and have already seen quite a few blokes who are looking for the beige interior specifically and all them saying it's quite rare. So it depends.
  3. Ping me if you want to compare V35 and V36, I have a V36 for sale so can arrange a test drive
  4. I have type SP with full leather seats and heating. Heating is good in winter, perforated cream leather good in summer. I selected car to be white with beige interior and had no problem last summer with heat waves
  5. 2006 Nissan Skyline PV36 Type SP Single owner in Japan and single owner in Australia, both non-smoking, used as a weekend car I bought this vehicle on the auction myself and imported, I have all original auction sheets (4.5/B mark!) and original de-registration papers from Japan to confirm genuine mileage of circa 45k. Brought here by Ben from J-Spec and complied by Bespoke Motors (Import Factory), serviced in Bespoke. Radio is converted to play Australian frequencies (14MHz shift) Top of the range SP model with full cream leather interior and countless features: 3.5L VQ35HR engine with 235kw of power, with around 5s 0-100. Paddle Shift Automatic Tip-Tronic Power heated perforated leather seats with memory Immaculate as new condition inside and out Original alloy wheels (R18) CD/MP3/Compact Flash with HDD Bluetooth Radio/Music and Phone/Bluetooth control on steering wheel HID Xenon lights Electrical windows, heated door mirrors, electrically folding mirrors Power steering Ajustable steering wheel with memory 6 SRS Airbags Proximity sensing remote access key, keyless entry and push-button start Reverse high-res camera Kerb camera in left rear view mirror Set of two keys Dual zone climate control ABS brakes Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) Braking Assist (BA) Stability and traction control (VDC) Emergency brake operated pre crash seatbelt tensioners Overall condition will impress. The car was hand picked on auctions and was well looked after. I would love to keep it but my family is growing and I'm importing an Elgrand which is on its way and just can't keep three cars. $23990 ONO but it's not a desperate sale. I'm in Keysborough PM me or call 0498148304, Mikhail
  6. What % discount is real? BMW can be up to 15% off RRP (east coast), given that Infiniti is nowhere near in resale but very close in RRP to BMW, they probably should be discounting like hell.
  7. I've checked all TE52 cars sold in the last year and could not find this frame number in auction statistics. I would ask them for de-reg papers and cross-check them.
  8. This unit is based on VxWorks and not Linux. It is not easy to build your own OS to support all car electronics, as it is not just a multimedia center. The car won't start without this box running properly. The required work has been done by smart guys already, see this video for example
  9. I am not sure about Infiniti keys, they may or may not work. I ordered these parts for my PV36 from Amayama, which I took from FAST according to my Frame No: KEY Nissan H0564EG010 SWITCH Nissan 285E3JK05A All for $110 including delivery. Frank made this new key work with the car in no time.
  10. That's hilarious. I don't understand what you're trying to achieve. You've been offered at least two options already. One is using local people with some g-o-d blessed parts with fat dealer margin and as everything in Oz, it's a bit expensive. Second is effectively 2-3 times cheaper using blokes who could fly down to Oz and make it, effectively outsourced. To make it cheaper, you perhaps need to roll up your sleeves and do it yourself. Oh wait, you need somebody to tell you what to do, why on earth they "should" do it for free?
  11. Good luck with that. Swapping the Japanese unit with a Global IT08 unit starts with something like this (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/2010-2011-2012-2013-INFINITI-NISSAN-OEM-Radio-GPS-Navigation-DVD-Audio-25915-/111409442334?pt=Car_Audio_Video&hash=item19f0852e1e) which will be circa $1200 shipped plus you need some additional bits and pieces from Europe or US (the latter is cheaper) will be under a grand or so. So the bare minimum you need to fork out two grands if you do it yourself. I assume you don't know how to do it so you'd need to pay people to make a quality swap and trust me they don't work for 30 bucks per hour. This is how this cost builds. If you find someone willing to disassemble the unit and give us the HDD image along with the unit to build a dev stand, I may have a look but this translation will take quite some time after we confirm no check sums / other protection involved and decode character generation - and my time is not cheap either. A similar task of bithacking cellular phones 10 years ago used to take a week of work per model for me.
  12. On the V36, cruise control is optional even for the SP grade. It's difficult to retrofit as you need to have steering wheel controls which can only be ordered along with the steering wheel itself. The full "cruise control" package according to the specs has the following: Steering wheel switch (audio, navigation, hands-free phone, intelligent cruise control) Intelligent cruise control Front seat emergency brake sensitive pre-crash seat belt Intelligent Brake Assist It is unlikely that any random V36 will have this option fitted, so you may need to spend extra months on auctions if this option is a must
  13. Success story, finally. Frank from Luxury&Performance vehicles, Bayswater can definitely do keys for V36 series 1 (which is VQ35HR, 350GT). Not sure about 370GT, though.
  14. The 3.7 model has some minor improvements in electronics (not very useful in Australia), 7sp gearbox, self-healing paint and some +15hps under the hood. I have spoken to many people with both engine types and found no reason to prefer 3.7 to 3.5, so I chose to bid for a car with better auction marks, type SP and lower mileage, I thought these were much more important. Too bad to see it go soon, but I'll be getting a vq35de bus instead
  15. I can't speak for what Chris can and can't do. Xanavi are known for swapping IT08 systems from Japan to their North American or European models with multi language firmware. This is a different solution however they could not confirm whether their system has Australian maps yet so in worst case scenario you'll need to use Garmin anyway. I am personally not worried about navi in general as I have another car with built-in local navi and never use it, Google Maps is way better and actual.
  16. Get two papers from the yard first: the auction sheet and export certificate, if you are not sure what to do then just post them here, there are many sources where these papers can be checked, I can try to give you original auction sheet for any auction in Japan if you give me the lot number, auction and dates. If something is wrong with papers then it does not make sense to spend any money on mechanics.
  17. You can swap the entire box (2006-2007 PV36) or just change the firmware (2007 onwards KV36) to get Australian sat nav. The issue, though is the only guys who are capable of doing this trick cheaper than Chris are in Russia and to get them down here we need to have some number of cars to convert, I found it impossible to do. I have a thread somewhere here about it. It will look and feel OEM with small differences like Infiniti logos but otherwise it's much better than overlay hacks with iGO or Garmin which still don't solve the issue of japanese interface throughout the system. The cost for 5 cars is about $5k per car, for 10 cars it will be circa $3.5k-4k, but hardly cheaper. Chris does this trick with oem parts for five digit number. So get a Garmin unit, it is 20 times cheaper at least.
  18. Having bought several cars in Japan (not only my Skyline) I would do due diligence very carefully on this one. Economic of cars on auctions of that age and mileage favors private buyers rather than dealers, these cars are just too expensive for dealers to buy them to keep at their yard as not every average guy passing by showroom would easily spot the difference between cars done 11k and 80k and since latter ones are significantly cheaper on auctions, it is just too easy for anyone familiar with the procedure to wound back the odometer and pocket additional $5k for no effort at all. I would ask for the dereg papers and auction sheet, verify in statistics that the sheet is not tampered and then make decision whether to proceed or hold. Again, there are guys who do things right (Bespoke comes to mind) but some don't
  19. Sorry for a stupid question but have you considered importing it yourself (using a respected broker), you may not get it cheaper but you'll definitely get better quality wise. Given you can't check the car in NSW, it's almost certainly better to get the car from Japan directly, if you are not in hurry and can wait for 2-3 months, of course.
  20. Okay I found a guy in Melbourne who is willing to make the key and has the software but we could not get the PIN for the system. He has some Nissan PIN calculator which I seen in many locksmith shops around but the PIN it produces is not being accepted by the car. Does anyone know how to get the PIN for the car? I remember that for V35 PIN could be read from BCM directly using some smart software but not sure if it's true for V36.
  21. I would not be so sure about V36. Anyway, he is in Sydney so of no use for me...
