  1. thanks for pm, the method you describe is different to the way i was thinking of, but just as easy.
  2. Compared to year 12 uni is sooo easy. Just be smart and do a little work and you'll pass everything. I hardly do any uni work, work at a bar 3 times a week and do an Arts/Mech eng double degree and havent failed anything yet in 3 years, not even come close. And you can have mini SAU meets at uni, thats what we've done at monash.
  3. I think this is normal? Mine does it too? Its annoying when its cold and you have to have cold air blowing in to demist the screen
  4. I was 18 and wanted a VL, but i had to settle for a R31 coz my parents thought it was more sensible. It was one of their biggest mistakes. The skyline bug caught me and 3 years later i got off my P's and bought my R32 a month later.
  5. I was going to buy a skyline from NSW so i investigated this a while back. I was going to fly up, buy the car, get proof of purchase, drive down to vic. Then hand the NSW plates in to Vicroads, they give the registed owner the refund (the old owner), then you have to get a Vic RWC and get new rego. So its still registered to the old owner when you drive it interstate, but as long as you have proof of purchase you can hand the plates in yourself.
  6. Well someone has to clean the toilets...
  7. Go a S15. The insurance wont be as much as ur R32. I dont understand why ur getting a new car just so u can pay $1k a year less insurance? Say u have the car for 5 years than get ur GTR, you've saved $5k on insurance but have to pay a shitload of interest and have a massive loan. And you wont be able to last the warranty period without modding it. Oh yes you will, you wont be able to afford mods with the big loan repayments.
  8. Id love a pm too, i saw what happened to max's car too and i guess this way is relevent to R32s as well. If its another way i want to know too please. PS if someone pms me ill pm anyone else who wants the info. (Who has more than 10 posts )
  9. I think Skylines come with 2 keys when new, 1 that fits the ignition and the boot and 1 that fits the ignition only. Its meant to be so you can give the key to a valet person and they cant get into the boot. Does the same thing as the valet boot locking switch i guess. My car has a dimmer switch that isnt connected to anything. The jap dash is much dimmer than any Aus car ive ever driven. Also when i put my headlights and driving lights on the climate control becomes so dim you cant see it anymore. And my Jap battery is so small, ive left my lights on twice now for no more than 20 mins and got back to the car to find the battery dead. My Sparco steering wheel is also not straight, so i get one sore shoulder when i drive for long distances.
  10. Good to see there are some people from the mornington peninsula on the forums! I went to: Mt. Martha Primary Woodleigh School Monash Uni and still there for another 2 and a bit years...
  11. Ive got a metal studded brake pedal and some dodgy type r accelerator pedal. Its actually ok as it sits close to the brake, making it easy to do that cool heel and toe thingo, allbeit poorly.
  12. Yeah but not 260RS Stagea's. I doubt many of the panels and parts would be similar.
  13. 'Under the starlit sky staring at your soul wates in smoke. As part of team REMAKE. Not as yourself. Setting higher than a dark sky. It's a time to fly high in heaven'. It brings a tear to the eye. Will Jap Drift poetry ever take off in Aus? It makes me want to get worse at english so i can make this stuff up!
  14. I wish my car had a sexy female japanese schoolgirl voice....
  15. Sorry but i dont think you will find an insurance company that will give third party fire and theft up to market value. The max is usally $5000, and you would be paying up to $1000 excess anyway, plus ur premium. Pay for comprehensive, or go without insurance. Which is crazy, especially seeing you will be borrowing almost the entire value of the car from the bank. What happens if you crash? Youre'stuck paying it off and you still dont have a car. :thumbdwn:

    New to Vic!

Oh my god another skyline owner from the mornington peninsula!! That makes two of us. Welcome to SAU!! Im from Mt Martha, where abouts exactly on the Pen. r u from? Esplanade in Mt Martha is fun for a quick spin, around the cliffs. You might see me there, dodging the helicopter-mounted speed cameras. What a joke. I got my car serviced at ice from recommendations here and they were good. THey let me hang around and they showed me everything they were doing so now i can do basics like oil change etc. I dont think there is much closer to fston, UPI would be a similar distance.
  17. Thats a pretty clean R31. R31 Wagons are cool. A round tail light conversion would be awesome, thats the only thing i dislike about the wagon, it seems like less of a "skyline" without the round tail lights. THis is my R31 wagon, its still for sale if anyones interested. http://au.f2.pg.photos.yahoo.com/rhett_fraser
  18. Im not someone to break the law. But im still interested. Surely there are more people in Melbourne who are interested in the R32 manual? And no freeloaders, funky, i take it it will not be lent to people who havent put in?

  20. I would definately be interested and would be willing to chuck in $20 bucks. Tell me though, are we allowed to make a "back-up copy" just in case the original gets lost?

  22. You cant go past white wheels for a white car. I think 17s are good for R32s, but im a bit biased. Ive got white SSR Integral 17x8s on my white r32, i think theyre pretty good for a cheapish wheel, theyre forged and i think their about $500 each new in japan.
  23. Holden were going to sell the HRT 427 but it became too expensive and they called it off. It was going to have a production run of 100 cars or something. I read this in the drive section of the paper about a year ago, so it must be true.
