Hey all,
Anyone going to this on Sat ?
http://www.motorplex.com.au/calendar/drag_...nt_hi_tech.html
See there is a heads up class now.
So basically will decide who has perths fastest street car, anyone having a crack at it ?
Yes it does thats the point.
Shootout takes the ambient temp and adds a correction based on the inlet temp. To try and give a consistent reading taking away temperature variables. So on a different temp day you get the same HP reading.
So a large gap between the two numbers means the dyno will add Correction IE adding HP.
To bring back an old post.
That dyno graph has intake temp of 53 deg and ambient of 25 thats a large spread and will increase the HP reading noticably. Thats almost a full 30 degree increase.
Friend of mine has simular issue.
R32 GTS-T auto turbo.
Driving along will drop out of overdrive and wont go back in running like 4000 rpm at 100km/h
Did you end up finding the issue ?

Thanks SK, mystery resolved.
lol ..... and why not ??? no help internet people of today
Cheers black32
I am suprised it works out so high comp wise as the extra CC in the head drops the comp a bit from what i understand.
Just to confirm you decked the block for the sole purpose that the pistons sit to low ? and not to gain comp ratio ?
There are some straight answers I would like.
I am not building a RB30 but have seen a few issues semi answered that need to be cleared up I think.
So can anyone explain the following in-depth ?
Define "dodgy" ??
I have also read that if you deck the block then 25/26 pistons work well .... is this true ??
What comp ratio do you roughly end up with when using RB25det pistons ?
Next one
Now the oil squiters still seem a mystery.
What makes one block "suitable" and another not SK ?
Has anyone ever seen or got pictures of Oil Squiters in an RB30 ?
I have been in a GTR on D-jetro. Response was awesome and street driveablity perfect.
My own car(S13) I swapped from a rom with Z32 to powerfc D-jetro. The car has never driven better. The responce of low throttle is fantastic. Also if I feather the throttle on and of in high revs(enough the bov goes) the car is not jerky like it was with the AFM.
Saying all this though means nothing, as we all should know by now an ECU is only as good as the tuner tuning it ......
I Spoke to AIR today.
They said the timing guy is sorting things at the moment and Bob Jane is coming down over the weekend.
They will know whats going on 100 % by wednesday.
Said it is most likely going ahead at this stage though.
Put a Garret turbo on it, I hear the Apexi's have an in-built miss.
I think PNB is right with check the loom too.
Remember it was coming up with ignition circuit fault on the consult.
Which generally is not the cas.
I have an SR20 with gt3540R with .82 rear makes 1 bar about 4600
obviously this not an rb30 but with 2 more cyclinders and 1 litre more then my sr20 you would expect it to spool 1 bar a good 1000 rpm earlier.
