    Japan Trip 08!

Fryman you neon shoe wearer ! Sent ya a pm.
  2. Thats exactly what i figured out. No one seems able to confirm this though ! Also a lot of people seem to block up the water pipe thats on the front of the engine. Even seen this on some jap race engines. So the evidence contradicts the theory that makes sense !!
  3. I've seen 360rwkw on an SR single z32 no problems with more resolution to go. The rumor of Q45 afms having smaller resolution then Z32 I think is most likely true. At any rate can you get the PFC to run twin Z32's ?
  4. Thats pretty cool, got any pics ? Like I said I have the laurel x-member in my other silvia and it sits the engine pretty high, my 26 in my silvia seems to sit no different. Yer I tried the R33 alloy mounts and even the R33 x-member as there was rumors that sat the engine lower as well, also easier to move the engine back. That was a disaster but. Ended up back at r32 x-member and mounts.
  5. so what did you do in your Uras car then ? Just raise the bonnet, bonnet vents ?
  6. The angle of the nipple doesn't mater, the larger body of water that is flowing will determine the direction. When a stream hits a river at 90 degree's that water doesn't alll of a sudden flow upstream, it will take a 90 degree turn and flow downstream with the rest of the river. Ok now your making me question the fact I think the water enters the engine at the lower hose where the thermostat is. My reason for thinking the the lower hose is the inlet and the top hose is the outlet is as follows. Heat rises so the lower hose is going to be coolest from the radiator. The water pump is attached to the lower hose and I assume that the water pump sucks the water through. if the cooling system is low ion fluid it will still work as its sucking from the lower hose, wont run dry. Be nice for someone to confirm this.
  7. No, very different. Its real time tuning, so no chip in / out. You can also buy the software for it yourself. That means you can data log and make changes as you please(should you know what your doin). It pretty much does everything the power fc software does.
  8. Yes your answered your own question there. Might have to take the starter motor of to get to all the bolts, there is 3 bolts and one stud/nut usually. Not to sure about the R33 but on a 26 the engine mount can make it hard to swing a spanner as well.
  9. well i just posted a thread about this too but I was modifying a little more then just the turbo water lines I am planning to take the water feed from the block then return it around the front of the engine. Basically the opposite of what you have done in diagram # 2. You end up without the water line around the back of the head. Makes sense to me and its simular to how you mod the S13 water return system on the SR. Except the rb26 already has the water nipple on the top raditator outlet pipe. I am not sure this is the best way as everyone was a little to confused by me "ghetto" diagram.
  10. I'm not convinced of that eh. I havea laurel crossmember in my silvia and the rb20 sits pretty high. I sat a r32 crossmember next to a cefiro one the other day and they looked identical. I didn't get the tape measure on it so I can't say 100 % but i'd be surprised to find that they are different.
  11. best to call them and ask --> http://www.hyperdrivems.com.au/
  12. Hyperdrive will do the nistune roms. Very good solution. This is my R32 GTS4 result with stock boost, stock turbo, just cat back and cooler. http://butters.throwinghandles.com/file_st...ts4livedit1.jpg
  13. I thought so but I drew it so made sense to me ... lol Thats a good idea, Hadn't thought about that. Was stuck in the follow stock mode there. That will make it a lot easier, cheers for that.
  14. How is it I post a thread asking for help and end up just giving information away without anything back ??? Yes its messy, it is a mock up Yep I took it off I think I give up with the help, cheers anyhow. Can the mods delete or lock this thread ???? or can I do it ??
  15. ok this is the mock up pic http://butters.throwinghandles.com/file_st...eatermockup.JPG Be impressed if that makes sense to someone. Why do i think I will regret this post for days to come ....
  16. I'll take a pic of the setup tonight. I bet that confuses you more though.
  17. lol ghetto and I was going for more a punk style. Its a birds eye view from the underneath which probably doesn't help things. The right hand side is the front off the motor, the left the rear obvious. The top section is the plenum side, underneath mostly or if the plenum wasn't there. One thing to note the AAC / cold start valve has been removed from this system,. might be why it looks so foreign.
  18. Been looking for a portable sat nav / gps to use whilst in japan. So far i have figured out that TomTom has no jap maps. The two options I have found are Garmin and using a Sony PSP with a GPS add on. Both options only seem to have the maps in japanese though. Has anyone used a GPS in japan ? Any suggestions people ?
  19. lol, I saw your name on the reply and was oh heck .... here we go. Translation -> "its too hard"
  20. ok re-designed the heater hose system on my rb26. Not keen on running the turbo coolant line around the back of the head. Personal preference. This is what I came up with. http://butters.throwinghandles.com/file_st...26Waterflow.JPG Will it work ? See any problems ? Any suggestions ? Can post up what it looked like orginally later tonight but keen to hear from guru's that already know the rb26 heater / water system. Also please excuse the shitty paintshop pic .... drawing not my thing.
  21. I think i got one of your runs MrSparkle. Will try and get it online over the next week.
  22. Some more vids
  23. plex write up --> http://www.motorplex.com.au/news/news%2007...07_10_29_1.html and the results --> http://www.motorplex.com.au/news/news%2007...liminations.pdf
  24. 15 psi by 4500 on an rb26 sounds really laggy to me. I had an .82 gt3540 on my sr20 and could get 15 psi by 4400 no problems. It was a built motor with cams but you would expect the 30 % extra capcity of the 26 to well beat the SR20.
  25. Correct me if I am wrong but they are supposed to be in the main plate behind the throttle bodies and just before the head.
