  1. Be nice to know what was done in the rebuild. Its obviously been Faced and Acid washed but what else ? New Guides ? Valve Seats ? Valve Stem Seals ? Clearances been done ?

  3. As cubes mentions AFR's are very important. I think boost is fine as long as its low boost. I ran mine in with about 5 - 6 psi. Low rpm is key as well. My limiter was set to 5000 rpm for the run in. It's also important to put varying load on the engine during the run in. Taking it down the freeway and sitting on 100km/h only is not a good thing. Its worth going through a hills area that will load up the engine a bit. Changing the oil during run is very important to. I was pretty keen with this. Engine was first filled with run in oil but most people say any mineral oil is fine. First fire up ran it till it got hot at about 2000 rpm. Shut down change the oil. This gets most the assembly lube outa the engine. then did 100km/s oil change then another 400ks then change oil and went to synthetic then 500k's and another synthetic change total 1000k's and then time to tune it for full rev range. Take heaps of pics of build too. People always interested

  5. Doesn't help that much, when we are looking for a power fc replacement which is a lot cheaper. It sounds really good but at $1000 extra my wallets not coming out of its warm little pocket. It looks like the there is no competitor in the $1000 ecu market ?

Well Being a tight arse I wanna see some real world $ Power FC = $1000 + Install = Free + Tune = $500 = $1500 total <-- yes i know you can't get some of them any more Wolf V500 = $1800 + Install(adapter harness) = $300 + Tune = $500 = $2600 drive away Rom Tune = $0 + Install = $300(Rip i know) + Tune = $500 = $800 F-CON = $2k + Install = $300 + Tune = $1k = $3300 total These are some prices from my experience. Would be great to hear some comparisions and others like link / haltech ??

  8. Doing a good job dude, really interested to see how it works out !! I don't see why 500rwhp would be a problem with an rb23. There a rb23/24 in Japan that runs low 10's, thats gotta be close to 500rwhp. SR20's do 500rwhp to so its not a capacity thing. I think just a matter of getting the intake manifold and head to flow enough air. Don't be too afraid to have a go at porting yourself. You sound like you have a fair idea. Porting is not the mystical beast a lot of people think it is. Wish all the rb20 haters would shut up and leave this thread alone though ... Sure sure there is logic to do rb25/26 but why not be diffferent FFS !!
  9. Depends on how your gauge reads dude. A lot of low qual gauges about that read way off. Also rb20 donk is fairly low comp I'd expect 130 - 150. You look more for variation. The readings on your engine are awesome !!

  13. For Sale. SR20DET manual ECU $150 SR20det manual gearbox, sold as replacement(no shifter/etc) $550 R32 GTR FRP bar with moulded in lower lip that fits R32 GTS-T. Has been repaired and is in primer. I have 2 of these $150 each. R32 GTR ally Bonnet in gun metal grey, damaged with lip folded over. $150 Autometer carbon back boost gauge with micro line. $30. All items are not sold until cash is in hand. You can PM me all you want saying "you will take it" but first to my door with money is the buyer. In Perth WA, will COD at buyers expense.
  14. They dont !! Ignoring the fact that they are usually china made POS things. There is no gasket and the two surfaces are not face machined. There is no way it would seal 100 %. You would always have a slight exhaust leak through the gate pipe(screamer) even when the internal gate is closed. Most people just live with this or pretend its not real.

  21. Yes it does thats the point. Shootout takes the ambient temp and adds a correction based on the inlet temp. To try and give a consistent reading taking away temperature variables. So on a different temp day you get the same HP reading. So a large gap between the two numbers means the dyno will add Correction IE adding HP.
