Also notes on mounts. I found the RB25 mounts different to rb20, although been told they were the same. So something weird there. I used the rb20 ones. A note on that, if you use the rb20 mounts the oil filter will be dangerously close to the mount. Make you modify it to clear. Seen two cefiro's split the filters and lose there oil due to this.

Use the power steering pump from the RB26. Get a custom power steering line made. You can just see in the below pic the custom line and swivel setup coming up to the PS pump. Should cost you around $100 ish to get done.

I've run feed from the block and returned to the front. Makes the most sense to me as the hot water then goes straight into the radiator not back around the engine. Also one less water line to worry about breaking and having to replace at the back of the engine. Doing that in the car ... what a F*kin nightmare. Oh and unlike CERB's ... My 26 has run a time

3lit3 32 - I think has a point as its the same one I was trying to make. (leaving out the experts comment - I stay switzerland on that one) Dirt garage if you change the dynamic of your engine's power. You can make less hp(peak) and run more MPH. I have done this with my car on more then one occasion. I am sure you already know this though. I am not disputing that HP(peak) can be indicated from mph, knowing weight and 60ft. Its just as 3lit3 32 said its not a perfect relationship.
-
You need to also take into account the 60ft. Its a good indicator of wheel spin which will up the mph. Then also Peak HP means nothing average HP is were its at. I have run(all diff cars) : 12.1 @ 116 mph 1.8 60ft in 1180kg car 280rwhp 11.4 @ 117 mph 1.5 60ft in 1140kg car 320rwhp 11.4 @ 119 mph 1.5 60ft in >1200kg car 400rwhp 10.89 @ 127 mph 1.49 60ft 1200kg car 420rwhp 10.35 @ 128mph 1.45 60ft 1130kg car 455 rwhp As you can see the MPH to HP translation is not that simple. Especially when you look at the two 11.4s one car with 80rwhp more. One was a peaky sl_ut other had power everywhere. Weight also played a big part.
-
Another GT35 example 455 rwhp @ 17psi on a stock RB26(just ecu + injectors). Car has run 10.35 @ 128mph. I actually have a t04z as well but am finding it hard to justify upgrading when there is so much more left in the GT35. Graph scale is a little off redline is actually 7800 so move everything back about 200-300 rpm. Also boost controlled with $50 bleeder.

Hi, Just thought I might share some more RB26 into S13 insight. When I got my sump converted I got them to add on an extension. Holds a fair bit more oil now. Also got a custom sway bar made by the selby guys. Its the right shape but they made it sit way way too low. I have to send it back to get it re-done. See pic -->

No they don't. About the only time you can claim an engine death is if you get the workshop to build, install and tune it. Also sounds like your oil pump might be on way out or sump pan is crushed up to the oil pickup. Anyone put an oil pressure gauge on it ?

Fastest 1/4 Mile Unopened Rb26 In Australia ?
Butters replied to Butters's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
oorrr thread just got interesting ..... so no cams, no cam gears ? Got a copy of the time slip ? 10.6 what ?? I thort it might come down to 1/10ths. -
Fastest 1/4 Mile Unopened Rb26 In Australia ?
Butters replied to Butters's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Well seeing as most of you seemed to miss the point I might as well claim the title until i hear otherwise. Cheers to those that posted times -
Fastest 1/4 Mile Unopened Rb26 In Australia ?

Can we get some specific numbers ? It might come down to tenths -
Fastest 1/4 Mile Unopened Rb26 In Australia ?

Know of any specifics ? Cars / people or times ? I have a vested interst in knowing -
Just wondering where the bar is set in the way of unopened RB26's in Australia ? When I say un-opened I mean stock cam's, cam gears, oil pump and etc too. Just bolt on big turbo(s), inejctors, ecu and the like. Don't care what car its in, hey even a rail. The timeslip list on here is pretty thin. As far as I can tell the HPI list all the 26's are pretty much full house. Same deal with the Full boost lists. So uncracked Rb26 owners, whats your 1/4 mile PB ?

An Update. 17 n a bit psi and a little bit more time on the dyno. Cheers ANDY !! RPM scale is prob 200-300 rpm out as limiter is 7800 not 8000 ish. Still stock internal unknown km engine with stock cams n etc. I love these motors

My Rb20 on NOS vs some other engines around these parts. Had 75 shot of gas and made of peak of 250rwhp with stock turbo. http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=pHf...mp;output=image As you can see not much touches it in the 3000 - 3500 rpm range.

S13 Silvia Stock Rb26 Nismo 600c injectors GT35R on 6boober Stock R cooler Power FC DJ Fist tune, 420rwhp @ 16psi

dude, why is the intake temp less then the ambient temp ! I assume the tuner left the temp probe on the dyno. Your reading will be lower then others. Also explains why you made less low down hp in this tune then your original tune on page 1
-
common debate this. "what turbo is more responsive" or "what turbo is less laggy" Now key thing here is lag is a measure of TIME ! By now most people should relise that dyno graphs showing rpm(or km/h) vs hp made do not tell you how laggy a motor is. As there is no time scale what so ever. Seat of the pants always sucks too. I remember a BMI where they tested an EVO(i think) which was 7kg lighter in the roof area. They crapped on how it "felt" faster and you could notice the 7kg difference. Then dropped a 7kg magnet on the roof and said it felt slow and handled worse. The lap times came up and the 7kg heavier(with magnet) car was consistantly faster and the top level drivers really had to eat there words !! Would be nice if we could come up with a rock solid way of measuring lag so that we could compare these setups. Not being a dyno operator I don't know what can be done. I am guessing though we would need logs of throttle % vs time vs tourqe. What you guys think ?? Wonder if DD could come up with set test so that we could compare cars.

To Standard Rebuild Or To Forged Rebuild
Butters replied to johnsta2k's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
This is the correct answer !! If you insist on rebuilding the engine then don't bother with forged. As said above the stock 50k donks will do your power level easy. Also slapping forged pistons in a daily can be annoying if you end up with average pistons or average machine work. Just rebuild it using nissan gen parts and you will have a tough engine. Your biggest worry with a rebuild is finding a machinist that won't screw your engine somehow.
