  1. All manufacturers make good tyres and crappy tyres. I have used Kumho Ecsta 712s and found them to be pretty good. The Ecsta MX are apparently even better. Using T1Rs on the GTR at the moment...and they are excellent. The Toyo TPGs are pretty average though. Yokohama make good and bad too...A306's are pretty poor. Same with Falken, 326 is crap, but 451 is good. Like Duncan said, you really need to go for one of the manufacturers higher end (more expensive tyres)
  2. Me (and quite a few others) have had issues with shuddering from when the rotors were new. They never had a chance to get hot. I'm not saying they all do (I'm sure they don't). But it's happened to me before, so I'm going to try something else this time.
  3. I'm up for new rotors at the moment too. I have not been too lucky with DBA rotors in the past (mainly shuddering problems)...so I'm going to try something else this time. A contact in Japan has recommended some Japanese made rotors (not endless, project mu etc). They will cost a bit more than the DBA's by the time they are landed, but hopefully they will be better. The workshop who recommended them uses them on their race car, so hopefully they will be okay.
  4. I've seen this car up close a few times, and it's about the cleanest BNR32 I have ever seen. The only one that comes close was a late model non VSPEC that I saw at an auction in Japan. But it went for 2.8mil JPY...
  5. No...512s are rubbish too. FK451s are good and are a replacement for the old GRB
  6. No thanks...I don't like losing
  7. They're not 326's are they???
  8. That would only apply if the wheels' radii were equal. The reason for this is that rotational inertia is proportional to the square of the radius.
  9. There was one in the for sale section
  10. The chuffing is when the compressors are trying to force the air into the engine when it has nowhere to go. It usually happens when the Turbo is too big for the engine, or when the turbo comp is too big compared to the turbine. I can't see how a better flowing plenum could make this happen, and it definatey wouldn't happen at idle. Have you taken the car for a run? What happens? Does it make boost?
  11. Well...you've already spoken to me...but I've just noticed that you are running exactly the same gear as me. Should be pretty quick in a light BNR32 body.
  12. 5% on the windows...yeah, but 35% on the windscreen is stupidity...
  13. Pete, do Wiseco make a piston with a decent comp ratio now? Last time we checked, they only had 7.8:1 or something like that.
  14. I'm keen to go back again soon too. But I'm going to run on street tyres with full weight, spare tyre and 3/4 tank of fuel...hehe Will be nice to have a run when the temperature is less than 29 degrees though.
  15. My cut out is at about 8200RPM and I change pretty close to that. I would rev it a bit harder if I could...but I'm a bit scared. You seem keen to head down to the drags again...
  16. I've had issues with the dark haired Andra guy too. One street meet (just after WSID introduced the whole V8 only lane), I was given the wrong lane number. I went and borrowed the marker from the red-headed bloke and changed the number. Mr dark-headed Andra guy saw me do this and was old me to change it (which I didn't). The rest of the night, he was standing and the entry to the staging lanes and tried to flag me down everytome I passed him. Good thing he was too lazy to walk to the front of the staging lanes to tell me off some more... Kenny...I say you should post the video
  17. Legally, you need either a sealed battery or a battery with an external breather. See the group buys section for a group buy on sealed batteries. I would use at least 2 gauge cable.
  18. The other option is NISMO AFMs and use the OEM airbox. Bolt and plug straight in, easy to set up with a PFC.
  19. I'm not too sure...I'm very busy at the moment and I will have just come back from Europe. To be honest, I think $220 is a bit expensive too. I know I will get heaps of runs, but I everytime I have ever been on a weds night, I get more than enough to keep me happy. After 5 or 6 runs, I get a bit bored with it.
  20. You are a goose...I will buy as many $25000 BCNR33s as you canm sell me. I don't care what year model they are or if they are vspec or not.
  21. The GT-SS I saw with the 0.60A/R comp housings were a kit for a GTR.
  22. Funny thing about GT-SS turbos is that some have .42 A/R comp housings and some have 0.60A/R comp housings. Before anyone says that the .60 housings are only for SR20, I have seen a twin kit for a GTR that had 0.60 compm housings.
  23. 4) I have hooked them up to other alarms before - no problems. 5) Can't really be linked to a nav system, but can be lin ked to a PDA so you can track the car in real time. The price is about as low as it can get I think. I have a group of five now and will be making an order very early in the week. If anyone wants to jump in, they are welcome to.
