  1. fugg me I never thought gold would suit the silver s2?!! might have to do some photochopping... anyone recommend some nice gold rims with some polished lip goodness?
  2. I have a silver s2 also, finding that its a hard colour to choose wheels for! I think so far the top 3 are - polished chrome lip with black or grey inner rim - full shadow chrome - possibly a not too over the top chrome rim ie. a simple 5 spoke...
  3. do you mean these ones? clickety click here to see ebay listing and thorpe, his r33 is a series 1, i don't think the series 2 have the coin slot? mine sure doesnt
  4. NICE! looks very clean. I think a set of ganador mirrors would really set this off even more. p.s. dig the dials on the cluster, do you know what make the inserts are? Luke
  5. link to this guide? I have the same issue
  6. I think you will find he didnt fit the seats but the seats do fit the car.
  7. nice one. I don't have any tools to do my own. was it easy to make?
  8. true. I have a pipe going through the hole you have for the CAI, so I imagine the only place it's going to be able to get air from is the stock intake point just under the bonnet. this is in a r33 engine bay...
  9. does anyone know where to get a bracket to hold the pods up? mine came without one. I can highly recommend the kudos guys deal on the apexi filters it arrived damn quick after payment!
  10. I like it because it makes me feel not so strange having so much time spent thinking about a freakin object. 99% of my friends think their cars are purely transport - I just can't see them that way! This thread makes me feel like its worth all the time money and effort (did i mention the money?) of owning a skyline plus there seems to be bugger all modded cars around the chats - hornsby suburbs, just not as popular with the peeps round here I guess so its nice to have something a bit different (although i must admit an r33 isn't that rare in oz anymore!).
  11. your kit does look freakin hot i must admit tracidtrax! silent, I know what you mean, and no i have never fitted a kit before, and I have heard a bit from others who have and vary rarely have I heard of probs with original kits only regularly with the copys. I guess I wrote it thinking of a perfect scenario for kits in an ideal world (in a gingerbread house on lollypop laaane..) Silent how many runs of a copy kit from the moulds can usually be made before the mould starts to alter the kits shaping to be an incorrect fit? i know it would vary a fair bit from quality of moulds, but i thought maybe you could give us a ballpark...
  12. yeah man, i'd never been in a car that modified before. I asked him lots of questions - he seemed to have done absolutely everything. fuel pump / rail upgrades, new turbos, full zorzt, aftermart management, you name it, it had it. it has just been fully rebuilt with all forged internals too and he was running it in which is why he couldn't thrash it through into 3rd and beyond...
  13. yup. and if you can't, thats wrong. a kit should be made to fit the car it is intended for perfectly. no if's but's or maybes. maybe they should call the copy kits 'almost bodykits'. Seems not many people ever get perfect copy kits or maybe its just those who don't get a good kit end up venting their frustration on here / ns etc.
  14. I had an odd first drive of my new R33 (it was only a few weeks back).. I had never driven one before and coming from owning lots of 180s and silvias I expected it would drive pretty similar - no friggin way! the clutch was heaps heavier, it booted that much harder and was a far more comfortable ride. I prefer the skyline interior waaaay more than the 180 / silvia interiors - though it is a series 2 r33 so they have pretty nice dash layout and good steering wheel etc. I managed to get pretty lost on my way back which was shite, but i got all butterflys in my stomach as soon as I got on an open stretch and put the foot down.... zoooooooom. and everyone looks at you in these cars. that has been weird. Last night I fitted new leather gaiters, new gear knob and an apexi power pod filter and went for a spin... ohhh la la it now sounds so much tougher with the induction note and the interior feels even nicer. One thing that made the speed of a new turbo car for me a bit lacking this time was that the previous owner of my car graciously took me for a spin in his fullhouse R32 GTR, just through 1st and second and MY GOD that thing was so fast it made my eyes sink in my head and vision blud when he changed gears - it practically 'jumps' when the gears engage. FAAAAAAAARk that was a fun ride. then i hopped in my almost stock r33 and drove home ahahahahaa now you see what i mean. luke
  15. i don't think this guy is interested in selling anything. no replies.
  16. I have a 96' R33 that is making a noticeable metallic clink or clank during gear changes, hard sound to describe but it sounds like someone briefly rattles some chains when I shift! It only seems to make the sound right as the gears change at the furtherest point the cluch engages. The box shifts nicely and the car drives perfectly. Any suggestions on what I can look at? It is hard to pinpoint the source being that shifting gears while stationary does not seem to create the noise - there needs to be revs / movement... Thanks in advance guys
  17. thanks for all the comments guys. I would not usually be looking at 2x15"s but it was just a good looking deal I came across. I have previously had either 2x 10" subs or 1 x 12" to give me the kick I needed. I still might lean towards the single quality 12" over 2 subs as I will need some boot space left for the groceries! any recommendations on a killer 12"? I have heard the Alpine Type R are decent but I must admit to not having much knowledge of models / brands...
  18. as in title, I want to know if anyone had managed to make a sub box with 2 x 15" subs fit in the boot of their R33. I may be buying someones entire stereo system and just wanted to know if anyones done it successfully before. I have asked him for dimensions but he hasn't got back to me yet and I may be able to get a smaller or differently shaped box made up anyway (plus I might not need 2 x 15s!). thanks guys / girls Luke
  19. lol! each to their own. i don't see how a bassy sound system would be horrible. I think 'horrible' is what my stock standard factory system sounds like.
