  1. LOL.. what do i need?
  2. yeah the PFC is starting to show its limits now for me thats for sure, Its doing okay but i am seriously thinking E11V2
  3. i have leaned it out on cruise while on the freeway to see if it would make a difference. and yes your right, i pretty much use PULP corrected afr's.. Anything leaner then 15:1 afr on cruise and it effects the driveability, but if you lean it out once your on the freeway doing 100k's you can get it pretty lean with no issues have a look at the AFR line, she is perfect straight! probly around 11.6 11.5 i have it running at the moment, i could lean her off to 12.5 and still be safe
  4. I was watching something on TV last night about e85 and ethanol, and how Brazilian cars MUST use a min of 25% and they have 100% available! They say that people in Australia are scared to run the stuff, everone i have told about it have said "i wouldn't use it" thats just crap, is this country really full of knuckle dragging bogans who are soo scared of change they have to be sooo stubborn to new ideas? That black box you mention is worth $800!!! I think the Gov needs to back e85, Mr Rudd is soo keen on this emissions bullshit you would think he could offer some kind of subsudy to make the fuel cheaper for the first 5 years to get it kicked off and get everyone converted to e85 which will help his emissions cause by a crap load! Anyways its annoying me.. the responses "it will wreck my engine" well i put it in my engine and gained 37kw straight away, and there was still plenty more room available for more. As for the emissions, i am a litle worried about the small leak i have around my wideband sensor bung just before the cat.. might try to get that repaired. appart from that I am only worried about the Carbon dioxide content which was sitting at 10% , during the dummy IM240 tests the NOX values did go into the red a couple of times during the hill climbs, but i think also it may have been putting unnesessary load on the engine because the dyno was trying to slow down the speed to follow the test. it is really hard to say whats going to happen, but i am thinking one of two scenario's, it will pass with flying colours with the emissions soooo damn low they will be scratching their heads, OR it will just scrape in or just fail. This emissions testing crap has gotten to my head, i had a dream last night that was at the RTA at Botany getting my test done and that i had to wait AGES for them get my car on and someone reversed into my car and smashed it lol Emission testing in my dreams? I am friggin insane or something lol There is no point in posting maps up for e85, they will look pretty much the same as a map on pump gas, except the timing would be a little higher. Before and after maps will not show anything on my tunes because converting mine had alot to do with corrections more so then fuel map changing.
  5. I managed to get from home in Newcastle to the servo at Rozelle on a third of a tank, i leaned it off to 17afr the whole way and it seemed to use a fair bit less. So i can dare say i am getting around 360 - 400km's out of a tank (300 was freeway km's) So yeah if your handy with the h/c you can lean it off with the fuel trim and run it leaner and get much better economy, was cruising at about 1.2 lambda and it felt normal, but the exaust was popping every now and then lol.. egt's were higher then normal (e85 normal) but no higher then using BP 98
  6. i raced on saturday, tooo much power so just has fun 51.02 was my best time hehe
  7. if you look earlier in the thread, disco put up some web sites.. one of them is where it is available. Cheers mate, i aint going to be singing and dancing till the emissions test is passed, the more i think about it the more i think it might fail. I failed the first time i went last time too but at least i will get the print out and know whats going on to change it for the next test. btw i hate tony
  8. stock 26 bottom ends do have their limits. i am thinking 18psi max with a to4z
  9. between 20% and 35% more fuel consumption using e85. There is no way to tell what l/h you are using. Too many variables to take into account when making a call like that. But if you want to know, Hunter All Wheel Dyno has the facility to hook up the fuel system to the dyno and we can read all that information for you
  10. Did you get the green one? its hard to read during the day. but at night its good. I got a thermocouple EGT sensor made up from a company at coffs.. and i got Peter @ WB02 to setup my wide band so i can connect it directly to it, then i purchased a additional display (the round one) and got a configuration file, at the moment i am only getting a percentage of the max reading but it gives me an idea for tuning / changes. I have been too lazy to get it working properly, but last week i emailed techedge and they are working on writing me another configuration script. Will be good when its configured correctly. NO. the AFR reads 11.8 because the sensors are reading in Lambda... the wide band setups are converting it to AFR using the gasoline conversion which makes it look like its running normal fuel but its not. So its really running a fair bit more fuel, probly 7afr or less.... I could have changed it the ethanol on the dyno and tuned it to the correct AFR but there is no point.
  11. what happened to Mr PSI ? did he have a ferrari ?
  12. Okay... spent pretty much the whole day on the Dyno today.. a mate came up from sydney and we had a play with his GTR first.. then we chucked my car on and had a few goes at the IM240 emissions test. I must say it was friggin hard to drive the bouncing ball on the line properly, the first time i totally botched it.. second time i got better and so on... I noticed on the analyse screen that the emissions were not even showing up.. Now I think its because the emissions are sooo damn low that its not registering on the scale (i like to think positive) or the software was not working properly.. I think it was working properly because I got to click on different parts of the test and see the emissions at that part of the test and the emissions was very very low once i finished tuning it properly. I only have one tune for the emissions test, it took me a few goes to get it right and anything i ever did to tune made it worse so I just worked on the one program. After a few tests i decided to do a power run, Firstly I have never got more then 303rwkw from the street legal tune i had.. Street legal for me is the oil catch can plumbed back into intake, the CAT converter is ON the car and the wastegate is plumbed back into the exaust with no more then 20psi of boost (lowest setting from the wastegate springs) Was suprised, with 10.05 AFR all the way it bagged 320rwkw... I could not believe it... the power was up 20kw straight away. I leaned it off to 11.8AFR and plugged a few deg of timing into it and gave it another go.. Was very impressed with the results! To give you a idea of the difference in power, i saved a old power run in the same dyno in street form and made a comparison print out. Remember the timing was only touched on the top end and there was PLENTY more tuning left into it to make it more responsive and come on boost quicker and make more power. I has only 15deg of timing in it and the knock from my KMON was only reading 30 knock compared to the 40 from the previous week on pump 98. Remember this comparison is only a 10 minute e85 tune, I seriously did STUFF all to tuning the timing to see how much extra power i could squeeze outta it because today my mission was to tune for emissions, and i think 340rkw emissions legal tune is pretty damn good as it.. no point pushing it more... "today" Sorry bout the bad e85 line, the damn Mainline dyno made the print out YELLOW and it was hard to read when scanned so i kinda fixed it up to make it readable. So yeah my day was successfull and i have a emissions tune ready to go for wednesday! The car is driving sooo nice now it has NEVER driven that good EVER. I am pretty sure I will be sticking to e85 from now on and use it as much as I can because its sooo much better then 98 its just insane. The BIGGEST thing i noticed about the fuel is how EASY it was to keep a perfect line when doing power runs, i swear i only spent 2 power runs and 2 goes to get the line that straight. I also really noticed it on cruise, just 2 press's on the + / - on datalogit made a STABLE difference and the AFR's were very stable. I cannot stress on how good this fuel is, its just NUTS. Lets see how good it is on wednesday! Anyway peoples! I spend shitloads of time and money and effort into these tests and posting up the results so tell me what you think ?!? I would like to thank Wayne at hunter all wheel dyno who donated me soo much Dyno time to make this happen! The things we can do on that Dyno is insane!!! His details are on the power run sheet Cheers.. Anthony
  13. got some very interesting results
  14. converted to manual years ago.. was auto when i first got it.
  15. I dunno man.. im going to make 3 tunes for the test, about stoich (little richer then) then a stoich tune then a really lean tune.. il ask the guys if they will let me go 3 times.. they should let me as they seemed to be interested in helping last time i was there.. im sure if i explain to them what i am doing they might be more interested in the results then I am My car can run on 15.5 AFR on cruise with BP ultimate with no issues.. so I can definatly run the car lean with e85...
  16. okay i made it to Newcastle.. Gauge was sitting at pretty much at full when i left... I get to the freeway and it was chockas!! so i jump on the old pac all for a bit... Cruisin on my street tune... Get to 101km's on the tank so far.... Still a quarter left!! Get up to 129km's and still going strong!!! So i decide to lean off the mixture a bit, so i lean her off and she seems to run normal.... Okay then.. lets go some more ! INTERESTING, it seemed to run fine!!! the EGT's were still showing normal numbers... Okay then.. MORE!!! Still going strong, but sounds like (out the exaust only) its missing a little.. but cannot feel it in the engine, only sound out the exaust only. Okay.. .... LEANER.. GIVE ME LESS ETHANOL 19.32 AFR AND STILL CRUISING STRONG. I did go one more, was running 21 AFR on the freeway and it was popping out the exaust.... By the time i get home... I have done 182km's..... so how much e85 left in the tank ?? .... ... HALF A TANK LEFT!!! I was running at 14.7 afr (Gasoline converted stoich) for the whole trip except for those little tests and she used half a tank on 183km's.... Soooo.. thats 366km's to a tank!!!! Considering i was getting anywhere from 400 - 450 with BP ultimate I don't think she is doing tooo bad! I wonder how she will go with the AFR set at 18 or 19 the whole way... more testing needs to be done! But for now I will be tuning the car in the morning for emissions and worry about the emissions test! Maybe the e85 economy aint THAT bad after all
  17. just about ready to drive up to newcastle.. got a full tank.. (less 22km's) will post up results tonight!
  18. those damn gas toyota's
  19. hmmmmm 465kw at wheels.. thats awesome
  20. yes take it to the track! get all your mates to bring video camera's.. be sure to carry a fire ext and make sure you upload the fire to youtube.
  21. some people cannot handle the fact that they have 500kw less then everyone else.
  22. added some cold cranking to the pfc and she seemed to start easier this morning. will be doing a 170km trip this afternoon after work.
  23. it was tuned with a kmon. aint no chance in hell it will blow unless something changes (faulty fuel system or something similar) i hope to see it last.. want to see the MPH of the thing
  24. 11.6 afr on boost 17PSI MAX cruise 14.7 low throttle 13.5 comming onto boost 12.8 boost 11.6 good luck with it.
