  1. Yeah I hear you bout the rules under ANDRA. But has Ray got the goods to come up with a full national series and finally put SC on the map properly. The Drift thing is not as popular as you think. I sponsor a heap of drift cars and unless its a DA round the meetings are not well attended. Drift is at the early stages just like SC drag here - but the powers to be behind Drift are more pro active and eventually drift will be way bigger than SC drag (unless the drag thing has a miracle occur)
  2. ^^^^ Dont blame peeps like Adrian blame the politics (and egos that go with that) that have fractured the SC series. When i was involved in drag racing before ANDRA unified the whole deal the sport was lost in no mans land-as soon as ANDRA got national series together(in the 90's) and local track also developed great catagories like supercharged outlaws the sport went through the roof. Now this was from a whole heap of peeps in the sport getting together under the same program and putting their egos aside and making the sport very strong. This must be done with SC or it will never reach its full potential With the amazing popularity in imports in this country at the moment I cant believe that SC is so poor. Im sure the Jambo will be a great weekends racing-but looking at the bigger picture it does not represent a national series
  3. Yeah my team mate went onto V8 supercar after the supercarts and he reckon almost fall asleep in them compared to supercarts. I remember one guy on that same day at Phillip Isl was clocked at 316kl/h in the drizzle on the sat Qualify session- now thats nuts I raced at Indy in the supercarts race as did my yeam mate and I was lucky enogh to avoid that massive pile up be he wasnt and now carries around a few decent pins in his arms.
  4. There is nothing wrong with the design and build quality of the GTR. But many have been badly modified and thrashed without proper maintainence. These are complex cars that demand very good and regular maintainence. Also old age is catching up with the R32 now.
  5. I used to race Supercarts. Had a 2 man team with a mate of mine. Insane speed. He was clocked at 306km/h at Phillip Isl. These things sht on anything else in this country when it comes to lap times.
  6. I puposely left out Jag, Alfa, Lotus becaus of their factory links- just listed some of the 'privateer' teams
  7. The TS is a direct result of the engines power and what car it has to get down the track (weight/ aero etc) I have stuffed my 60 foot big time - 1.4 instead of 1.1 (in a dragster) and the 1.4 60' got me 188.65mph and the 1.1 60' got me 188.44mph. I ve seen big powered cars way off their 330' time due to tyre shake or whatever and then get a full power run from there and run right on their TS.. eg Top Alky dragster ran 7.11 sec @ 227mph and then the next run did a 5.87 @ 229 mph ( not a shut off pass)
  8. There are a couple of good guys here in Qld( Paul whitinh or Steve 'Jake32' on here)and none in SA-cause its the nothing state
  9. Must of been an Alcohol funny car-cause the Nitro funny cars are nearly as quick as the Top Fuel rails Yeah like to see Bugatti build an engine with 7500hp and not need constant rebuilding Ill take the Fueller anyday for a 'real' adrenilin rush
  10. ^^^^ my point exactly- these racer teams have given F1 a very rich ,colourful and interesting history and the sport will be the poorer for losing all of them (if it gets to that stage)
  11. If it does go to Merc F1 then its just another 'privateer' name going Remeber Benetton, Minardi, Arrows,BAR,Brabham,BRM, Cooper,Jordan,Ligier,March,Matra,Prost,Sauber,Stewart,Tyrell?????
  12. Yep also its 100mph in around 1 sec Basically when the fueller launches from a standing start ,by the time the rear wheels reach where the front wheels were its doing 100mph-so the lenght of the car which is 300 inchs its doing 100mph. And no bugatti driver will ever know what that feels like
  13. No they hit 520km/h in 4.5 sec The 0-300 in under 14 secs has benn done by more than 1 GTR And as for the Bugatti i cant wait till these things are 3 years old and falling apart-Bugatti built Quality is shite
  14. Yeah but that filthy name McLaren would be gone for good
  15. letest rumblings are the McLaren name will be LEAVING f1 ...........BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHA Bring on Merc F1 Fk off Ron the Tosser
  16. Looks like Holden stole the headlights from Ford-they look bad enough on a Ba but look really bad on the VE
  17. ha ha the best way to break a dry spell at WB is to have a drag meet - it rarely rains exept on Jambo or Winternats weekend
  18. Tomei oil pump part no. 193035
  19. You see them occasionally for sale 2nd hand for around the 150k+ mark Ultima proves it really is the ultimate (June 2006) British bombshell blasts world record with barnstorming run British sports car specialist Ultima claims to have eclipsed the production-car world record for sprinting from standstill to 100mph (160km/h) and then back to rest with its hard-core, lightweight GTR coupe. Piloted by Ultima director Richard Marlow along a 2.9km runway at the Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground, Leicestershire, the road-legal GTR scorched to 60mph (96km/h) in 2.8sec, while 100mph (160km/h) was dispatched in a blistering 5.9sec. Another 4.4sec later, the car was stationary. "This record time beats the legendary McLaren F1 road car by well-over a full second at less than one-tenth of the cost," boasts Ultima. The manufacturer claims the times were set by a "standard, factory built, fully road legal, road tyred Ultima GTR built using all of the high spec factory specified and proven parts". Power for the 993kg missile was provided by a 478kW 6.2-litre Chevrolet V8 engine, mated to a Porsche G50 five-speed transaxle gearbox. The car was equipped with air-conditioning (which adds weight), but devoid of traction-control devices, launch control systems or ABS braking aids. "The 0-100mph-0 test is believed by many to be the ultimate test for any car and is a true indicator of a cars all round performance ability," gushed Marlow after the run. "We haven't strapped any timing gear onto one of our cars for a few years now and decided that the time was right to demonstrate to everybody how we have been successfully developing our product over the years and gained a world record in the process. The world record attempt was overseen and verified by an official from Datron Technology, which is acknowledged by the Guinness Book of Records as official timekeepers, using state-of-the-art Microsat GPS equipment. 0-100mph-0 comparison times Ultima GTR 9.9secs Ferrari Enzo 10.9secs McLaren F1 LM 11.5secs Porsche Carrera GT 11.6secs Pagani Zonda 11.8secs Porsche 911 Ruf R Turbo 13.1secs Ferrari F40 13.8secs Lamborghini Murcielago 13.9secs Aston Martin DB9 14.9secs Honda NSX Type-R 16.2secs
  20. No water- yeah its called a drought Id put up with all the things you listed at WB anyday over the sht way WSID is run. WSID is the only track we refused to tow to when I had my dragster and I will never ever go there to race or spectate-would rather burn my money than spend it there. As for more peolpe getting involved from these forums and else where-well thats not going to happen with the current state of play with import drag racing at the moment-I think the scene will struggle to hold onto some current long term members, let alone attrached new ones
  21. since when has selling magazines been about ethics-it all revolves around $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
  22. not necessary just the mags faulty- you can only read about so many R33/s13-14-15/Supra etc. Nissan and Toyota never really replaced these cars with an new alternative.- so there is nothing new and exiting to talk about. I feel the whole import scene has gotten rather boring- but that was always going to happen when Nissan and Toyota went down the granny road with their new line up (V35 etc) and Raws didnt help either. The way ANDRA and other have watered down the SC compact deal is also a major blow
  23. Hope this puppy has a cage/harness and chute (keeps ANDRA happy)
  24. ^^^^^^ haha thats awesome JV sacked - I think thats great-time to take his over inflated ego to another form of Motorsport-Chump cars maybe?????
  25. sweet- we hook up Ill Pm my Moby phone number Indy FTW The great thing about Champ cars is they actually pass each other outside of the pits-unlike Formula Ho Hum
