  1. Could someone do me a favour and look up some part number in Fast for

me? I have never been able to get it working on my computer.

I am still struggling to get parts to get my Stagea fixed after having a

Land Cruiser back in to me.

See attached pic with parts highlighted.

    It's a late 96 series 1

    Front Left mud guard = 63113 0V035

    Bracket behind mud guard.

    Front Left mudguard trip piece

    Front left Door trim piece

    Front left door window surround.

    Thanks

  2. Can some one with a copy of Nissan Fast look up the part number for a S1 left hand front mud guard.

Then I can see if Nissan can get a new one for me.

Mine is a bit deformed and the panel beaters don’t like the idea of working with a second hand panel.

  3. If you elect to contend a traffic infringement then reconsider and decide it is not worth contending a couple of weeks later can you withdraw your intention to contend, accept and pay the penalty as per the infringement notice and avoid having to go to court?

If you receive an on the spot fine and are given a scrappy Infringement notice on the side of the road should you also get sent a reminder notice in the mail as the payment date gets close?

    Thanks

  5. I don't know of any manual road cars that use transmission oil coolers.

The fluid in an Auto dose a completely different job to that in a manual.

In a manual the oil's only real job is to lubricate the gears. Where in an auto the fluid lubricates the gears and transmits the power from the engine though the torque converter and into the gears. The only way to get a manual hotter is by putting more revolutions through it or from heat transferred from the clutch and engine. This is minimal compared to the heat generated in an auto. Generally thicker oil in a manual transition lubricates and protects better but when it is too thick (Colder is thicker) it will not flow through the sincros as easily and hence make gear changes harder. If you find changing down into 1st or 2nd hard learn to double clutch and heal tow or try thinner oil.

Fitting an oil cooler will not help you at all. Manual gear boxes do not have oil pumps in them ether, the gears themselves move the oil around. You would have no way of circulating the oil through the cooler unless you fitted an external electric oil pump.

Have a read of these links to learn the basics on how transitions and torque converters work.

  6. I will make her pay but she dosnt want to. She wouldn't admit liability calming I shouldn't have been behind her and was a bit reluctant to give me her detailes. I know a few good panel beaters and have full comp insurance but I might not be able to organise it for 3 months.

AMS the seats are East Bear R34 GTR seats.

  7. If she had looked at all she would have seen me. She just slowly reversed 3m turning a little as she did straight into me. I was sitting in the car honking my horn as she did it.

Luckily it’s just the front ¼ so it should be easy to replace but getting the paint to match will be a pain.

  8. All the RS4 series 1's come with the power/economy button. Its a 4 spd auto that just locks out 4th when the over drive button on the gear stick is turned off. The 2WD Stagea could just use all 4 gears normaly and not have the option to lock out 4th. Unless you have a 5sp gear box.

  9. See bellow for the details on these tow bars that Max sent me last night.

    Chris,

Following is relevant data re this towbar:

    a. General Description.

Towbar comprises a main cross bar 75 x 50mm (5mm wall thickness) with 8mm steel plate brackets at each end to attach to chassis rails. At passenger (muffler) side the bracket is shaped to clear muffler and rubber supports and is attached to chassis by two 8mm bolts plus two 10mm through bolts. on  driver's side, the bracket is attached by three 10mm bolts plus on existing bolt in chassis rail. In the centre the bar is attached the bottom of wheel well to improve vertical download. Configuration is box hitch receiver type with standard Hayman Reese 51 mm TBM (Trailer Ball Mount).

    b. Fitting.

Detailed fitting instructions will be provided. A moderate level of skill is required. In outline. fitting involves:

      * Remove bumper bar

      * Cut out section approx 80mm x 80mm at bottom centre

      * Remove muffler

      * Modify rear muffler hanger to clear towbar when mounted

      * Drill two additional holes through chassis rail using hole in towbar as guide

      * Position towbar & attach using high tensile bolts provided.

      * Refit bumper bar and modify cut-out as necessary.

      * Connect 5 core electric cable and plug by tapping into left and right tail lamp harness as necessary.

    c. Warranty.

I provide a lifetime limited warranty on the towbar and written copy will be provided. I cannot warrant installation but apart from minor variations between Stagea models you should no have any real problems.

    d, Rating and Certification.

Based on rating for vehicles of similar size and power (eg Magna), I would assess the towing capacity to be between 1.5 and 2 tonnes. When the two towbars I have completed are certified next week, the ACT accredited engineer will certify them as legal and decide a rating. I will let you know what this is. I am not aware of the legal requirements in other States. My warranty will cover quality, durability etc but legal certification (if required) must be addressed in the state of vehicle registration.

    e. Price and Availability.

Supplied price is $550 incl GST plus freight. Freight for 2 bars would be about $40 . Both towbars would be available within 10 days of payment which may be made by bank cheque, direct deposit or credit card.

    f. Quality Assurance.

I am happy to provide the names and phone numbers of the two owners of bars already fitted if you do not already know them.

Will provide more data following certification. Please email me if you have any questions.

    Regards

    Max

  10. How many people would be interested in AP racing brake kits for their Stageas?

They do Skyline kits that use:

    Front

    AP racing 4 pot callipers

    DBA 5000 series rotors

    Mounting Brackets

    Braded hoses

    RRP $2,900

    Rear

    AP racing 4 pot callipers

    DBA 4000 series rotors

    Mounting brackets

    Braded hoses

    $2,600

I would get a set to fit on my car first to make sure it all fits on and works correctly.

I have not spoken the importer about it yet but should be able to organise a reasonable saving.

I would like to get an idea on how many would seriously be interested before

    talking to them.
