The ceramic delaminates due to the velocity at the point it meets the metal shaft. example the turbine produces 14psi at 100,000 rpm on the rb25, (lets call this point of stress) then we devide 2500 by 5 20 get 2000 so we also devide 100,000 (shaft speed) by 5 fo get 80,000. So the shaft spins 20% slower to produce the same PSI. So if you increase the shaft speed to 100,000 on the rb20 you will be spinning it at the same speed as the rb25 but producing around 15-17 PSI See These figures are used as an example and do not reflect the actual speeds of the shaft. As the turbo has a larger compressor, It will produce more volume of air through the valves for a given PSI rating. (more airflow) at a lower temp because it is using less effort to generate the same volume. In my experience you almost will not notice the difference in spool up time. plus the rb20 turbo drops off at around 6000rpm but the rb25 turb pulls hard all the way to redline! :rave:

  3. you will get 15-20 rwkw difference with no tuning and you can up the boost to 16-17 psi without riskung ceramic in the cat. This combo with a good tune will get you 200rwkw. its a great upgrade.

  7. sorry dude i dont have a digital camera. Its all cast alloy with a big black turny knob that clicks with every ajustment actually i think it is greddy item. it will do exactly what you want and you can actually mount it as it has a bracket. for $50 its a great deal
  8. I have for sale 40MM external wastegate HKS replica with 1 bar spring. I bought this to use on my rb20 with a to4 style turbo and it worked perfectly but i was unhappy with boost response so i have gone with a smaller internally gated turbo so i no longer need this. I had a t3 flange made for it so it will fit any standard rb manifold. so all you need is a standard manifold and it will bolt between it and the turbo. $200 Blitz pnumatic boost controller in perfect condition. it is the best pnumatic one available come off my car when i went to electronic boost control. $50 RB20 injectors 6 in good condition flow testec at 270c 10,000 ks ago orings in good nick, just bolt them onto your rb20. $100 Intercoolers, RX7 series 4 intercooler with polished end tanks $30 Cefiro a31 standard intercooler off my car $20 interested in trading any of this stuff for gtr injectors or simular... cheers

  10. how come there are so many rb20s doing this with stock injectors, are they all going to go bang? "quote" I made 200rwkw (268rwhp) with the stock injectors and 0.9bar boost, so talking to Shaun at Boostworx, who will be tuning it, he reckons around 18psi or there abouts should see if make some really good power, and there is no reason why is shouldn't be able to run this boost, as the RB20 has lowish comp. ratio and it has a nice fuel setup now, so all the key factors are there to produce good power "end quote"
  11. ok now i am scared... my last dyno produced 215rwhp with current tune. but since then i have added FMIC dump pipe hi flowed turbo and my a/f is around 12. does this mean i am already running 100%? I was under the impression i could get close to 200rwkw from these injectors going from a lot of the posts on the internet and these forums, however i take your opinion as i know you have experience... so no point having my ECU tuned again?

  13. I am going to get my ECU rechipped again and i need a little help to make sure i am not going to run 100% duty cycle. I am running a set of denso 270cc injectors(stk rb20) they have been rebuilt i will be installing them like: cyl1-270 cyl2-270 cyl3-272 cyl4-272 cyl5-276 cly6-276 keeping cyl 5 and 6 richer for safety. car and engine specs are rb20det 100.000ks rb25 hi flowed and has produced 226rwkw @ 1bar on rb22 hybrid engine walbro 255lt fuel pump turbo back 3" with almost no bends and the biggest hi flo cat possible GTR sized FMIC with waterspray kit on 5psi hobbs switch oil catch can EBC single stage standard AFM the car will be tuned with a professional wide band air/fuel meter that logs data. and cross referenced on the dyno. it will be tuned for 98ron. what is the safest/best performance a/f ratio? how many rwkw can i expect while keeping a safe duty cycle? what is the theoretical hp per injector rating? I want to do this properly and do not want a dodgy half assed tune that will lean out and go bang!
  14. Is it just me or are all you guys sick of not being able to drift regurlary... I mean i go to the initial drift meets but they are only once a month and you get f**k all track time. are there any private places to drift? or any other tracks we can use? i dont really want to drift on the streets but there are not that many options... large closed parking lots? abandoned airport runways? LOL even a big empty warehouse/airplaine hanger!
  15. i once had this problem with an old celica. it turned out to be the windscreen seal not fitting properly. it sucked... hope you can fix it man.
  16. you could sell off all those bits and make a bit of cash. if it has burnt valves chances are its fairly hackared and wil prob need a full rebuild anyways. you could easily sell cams turbo injectors cam wheels and plenum/tb you will prob get close to $2G for these bits if they are in good condition.
  17. it will work perfectly. i would put the cooler before the filter to keep the filter in better shape and operating at lower temprature. i am looking for one of these myself.
  18. dont use this turbo unless you want a boat anchor. is it a ZY turbo? i had one of these on my car for a week and the wheel rubbed the housing also NO POWER AT ALL. stay away from it... GCG turbos told me 80% of these turbos fail within the first 3monts of use.
  19. I got my ecu re tuned by toshi and the car went from 185rwhp to 215rwhp! he did a fantastic job. peak power was better but also 20-30 more hp everywhere. car spools quicker, uses less fuel, picks up more girls, goes faster...
  20. turbo done.... yea ha! by seat of the pants dyno its running around 200rwkws at 16psi... feels really good lag is not noticable and it pulls hard all the way to 7k. why do i always start this shit just before i really want to use the car? see you guys there :looney:
  21. hehe new turbo on and almost ready. I drove 2 suburbs away to an exhaust place with no exhaust at all. just the stock dump pipe! it sounded like a cross between a v8 and a jet engine. every one was looking at me
  22. I just started a turbo swap yesterday and still havnt got a dump pipe or iol supply line made. looks like i will be busy today. i will still be there with the car running even if the dump pipe is made from gaffer tape...
